I cannot get my new iPod Classic to play through car dvd with USB.

My car stereo is a Clarion VZ709 in dash dvd player.  According to Clarion's website, this iPod is supported and should be playing through the USB connection, but all it does is display on the iPod screen "Ready to Disconnect".  My new iPad3 64GB WiFi plays perfectly through the car stereo, and it is not even listed in Clarion's list of supported devices.  Any idea why one is recognized and not the other?  And how to get the iPod recognized?  I listed this under "connecting to a mac" since there was no category for connecting to a car stereo.  Thanks!

Do a Hard Reset, while connected to the Clarion, hopefully your iPod is fully charged
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the Red mark when you do the  next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about10 secs till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

  • I cannot get my new Ipod Nano to pair with my bluetooth Headphones. It just searches endlessly.  These same headphones work with my blackberry playbook.  Does Apple only allow certain bluetooth devices to pair?  i.e. only the ones sold on their site?

I cannot get my new Ipod Nano to pair with my bluetooth Headphones.  It searches without finding it. This headset works fine with my blackberry playbook.  Any suggestions?

thanks for reply... I saw on the Nano package that it is only compatible with bluetooth 4v.  Is that the same as A2DP.
    That's probably the problem... it wasn't a high-end headset.

  • New iPod Classic keeps running through podcasts

My old iPod classic recently died and I bought a new class (120g). I'm all synched, but there's a problem when playing podcasts: The new iPod plays through all episodes of a podcast without stopping.
My old iPod would stop playing at the end of a episode.
For both iPods, shuffle is "off" and repeat is "off".
How do I get my new iPod to naturally stop at the end of a podcast episode??
    Thanks!

It may be related to the data "caching" used by iPods with a hard drive for storage.  This caching (pre-loading upcoming song data into memory) allows the iPod to play continuously, even if movement and vibration cause access to the iPod's hard drive to NOT be continuous.  However, if the iPod is stationary on a desk, this should not happen.
If you have not already, Reset (restart) the iPod
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320
If that does not help, you may want to do a Restore on the iPod using iTunes.  The cause may be data corruption on the iPod's storage.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, reinstall its software, and set it to default settings.  After the Restore, sync your songs as before, and see of this problem still recurs.
It's also possible that the iPod's hard drive is faulty, and that is why the iPod is having problems accessing the song data (which causes these pauses).  If the Restore does not resolve this problem, you should have it looked at under warranty.  If there is a conveniently located Apple Store, you can make a reservation at the store's Genius Bar.  OR, if possible, return it for a full refund and get another one.

  • Getting my 80G Ipod classic to play on TV,s or video players

I have tried almost everything I can to get my Ipod to play on video players and my TV. I have the setting to TV OUT on. Have all the cables that I need. Yet when I try to play it on any thing else all it does is stay on the TV OUT screen Get sound but no picture. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help?

If you bought the iPod AV Cable (The one for $20), you got the wrong one. That one -the one that connects from the Headset jack to the 3 color cables (RCA)- is not for the iPod Classic, it works only with the iPod with color display, iPod Photo and iPod Video.
I saw one kit earlier today on Wal-Mart with a bigger box and for a much bigger price: $99 Dollars! HEY APPLE! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? You need to be more clear on your packages as to what iPod is compatible that device and/or need to make more devices for the iPod Classic.

  • IPod classic wont play 3rd party dvd player with apple composite cable

I want to play the videos in my iPod classic 120GB(MB526LL) on my Phillips DCP750 dvd player. I am using the Apple Composite cable which I brought in the spring of 2008 with the Apple Universal Dock (MB125G) and they will not play. When I tried to just use the cable with the Phillips I received the error message “ TV Out Enabled Please Connect Video Accessory “ so I brought the dock Using the dock I do not get the message. Instead the audio comes through the headphones on my iPod but no video on the dvd player nor on the iPod. I have the iPod settings to TV out, screen standard and PAL since I am in the UK. Is it possible that my cables are too old and do not have the chip that I have read about? Should I be using the component cable rather than the composite? I have tried to find the older firmware prior to 1.0.2 but can’t. Is it worth my while to make an appointment with my local Apple store and take cables, player, dock and iPod to the Genius bar? If anyone has had this problem and figured it out could they explain to me step by step what I should be doing. I hate the idea of having to spend more money on cables and will probably just continue to watch videos on the ipod or else on the Macbook if I can not figure out a work around.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm so frustrated that this new iMAC doesn't have a program to do this.
    Tell Apple:  http://www.apple.com/feedback/
IDVD is included with iLife 11 ON DISK.
For making movies there is no alternative or substitute for iDVD. (Buy it while you still can.)
I've tried Burn and Toast and many others, iDVD is by far the best.

  • I have an Airport Express that works fine but cannot get the audio to connect or play through my Samsung AV-R370 receiver. I

I bought a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm connecting cable to connect the Express to some outlet on the receiver back but am unsure which one to connect to. They have a combination of coaxial and optical plugs, nothing looks like a 3.5mm jack. I also bought a 3.5mm stereo Y-adapter cable to connect the Express to whatever coaxial jack on the back of the receiver. I tried all but could not get a sound out of the system. I checked with earbuds to see if music was coming out my Iphone 4s through the express and it does so obviously it is a connection or setting issue. Everything works WIFi, but want music to stream through my Samsung system which includes TV,AV receiver and BluRay player.
Any help would be appreciated as I am new to this.

You basically have two choices: 1) Find the best physical placement of the AirPort Express to support multiple locations, or 2) Get another Express to extend the wireless range of the first one.

  • Low volume on Ipod Nano when playing through car stereo

I used to own a 4 gig ipod mini, and I'd connect it to my car stereo via a stereo cassette adapter. Well, that little guy crashed after a few years of good hard use, and I bought an Ipod Nano. Only, when I play the Nano through my car stereo, the volume is really low. Is there any way to fix this? I'm thinking maybe the Nano doesn't have the same amplification as the mini, and that's why the volume is low, in which case there's going to be no way to play it through the car stereo. I've tried two different stereo cassette adapters so I know that's not the problem. Anyone have any clarifying thought on this? Please help. David

I use a cassette adapter in the car as well, and also have to adjust the voume on the stereo and the ipod to a higher setting than what I would when listening to a cassette or CD. I've used this adapter with another brand of MP3 player before I got my nano and it was the same as the nano in regards to having to turn up the volume.
In using the adapter in different cars, I've noticed that on some cassette players, I have to swith the auto reverse from say, tape A to tape B in order to get sound out of the adapter. You may want to check the auto reverse settings on your cassette deck, if you haven't already.

  • Will charger that comes with iPhone 3GS charge my new iPod classic 160?

I have an iPhone 3GS; which comes with a charger. I recently purchased a new iPod classic 160; which doesn't come with a charger.
Will the iPhone charger charge my iPod without damaging it?
It appears to work (shows it's charging), but I want to make sure they're compatible.
    Thanks.

Yes, I have the same question- the old classic came with the charger (the rectangular white one). We travel alot and don't take our laptops with us so we need to charge ipods with chargers. So we can still use the one that works with our old classic or the new one, right?

  • Ipod (2nd gen) Does damage occurs playing through car stero?

I have tried playing ipod shuffle (2nd gen) through car stereo with aux cable. Plays fine for a while then 'blows out'. ipod will then not take a charge and gets very hot. Had ipod replaced twice already. No problems playing first gen through car stereo. Don't want to risk playing with my second replacement. Any suggestions?

As Scott has already noted, AVOID using a connecting cable with plugs that have metal plates at the end of the plug shaft, they may cause shorting to the Shuffle's aluminum case. The same issue of potential shorting does't exist with the 1st Gen Shuffle...
Simple short term solution is to cut a round isolator disc out of thin plastic and insert it on the plug shaft...
