I cannot get onto a website

Facebook is one of my tabs...when I open it I just get a white screen.

This is JudithRomanesca. Consumer Reports wouldn't accept my correct username and password. Somewhere I saw something about it accepting only IE and Firefox. I read a lot of posts from people who were trying to get a version of IE for Macs. That sounded pretty chancey so I tried to download Firefox for Mac. That took me forever because after I downloaded it I couldn't find it. When I finally found it and went back to Consumer Reports, I was able to sign in. Don't ask me why you all could get into CR with Safari, I couldn't.
I am starting to regret trying to switch to a Mac. I am having a lot more problems than I thought I would. My husband went from a PC to a Mac and had no problems, but he had actually used a computer very little, whereas I was reasonably proficient and now find a lot of things I can't figure out "intuitively" as I thought I would be able to and I am frustrated.

I have had this problem for several weeks. I cannot log onto particular websites. And when i use a search engine and scroll down and find a link the message " problem logging in" keeps coming up . Or if i type in the url it does not work either sometimes. IT is not on all websites and it is not all the time. I also have problems with links in Facebook or an attachment from a email.
Have reset Firefox several times now and i still have the problem. Have updated a couple of times and have even uninstalled it to see if i can solve the problem. It is making my internet experience very frustrating and im just at a lose what to do next.

It is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted if clearing cookies doesn't work.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

If you can't sign in, then you can't troubleshoot and/or pair the keyboard until after that........ so, for that, you will need to borrow someone's USB wired keyboard in order to get signed in and to the Keyboard Bluetooth Preferences.

If it it says turn off FIndMyiPhone then:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

You can only pay to continue your free extra storage from System Preferences on a compliant Mac or from Settings on an iOS5/6 device. If you cannot access either of these then I'm afraid your choices are to go to http://icloud.com and delete as much data as possible to bring yourself below 5GB (assuming you are indeed over it) or to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mountain Lion - you have less than a day to do this, which doesn't make it an advisable course of action.
If you decide to upgrade, what you can do depends on your Mac's specifications. If you are on Leopard you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard first (Intel Mac required).

On my netbook, I installed Firefox 4.0.1 from the Firefox web page. Now The netbook cannot open Firefox and cannot get onto the internet. System restore doesn't work. What can I do?

At the end of the installation process, I received the message that (some applications?) were not compatible with Firefox and should Firefox search for (some applications?) that would be compatible. I answered no. When the netbook restarted only one of the two user icons was showing. The user icon I use all the time was not showing. I did system restore to try to go back to before I did the installation and I got both icons, but Firefox does not open. Firefox does not open with either icon. I am using my old PC to write this message and I will not install the new version of Firefox on this PC until I can once again get onto the Net with my netbook. I hardly ever use this PC for using the Net.

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.

I can't get onto the internet via wi-fi either (don't have a 3G card fitted). All other functions seem to be working OK including charging. Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Wireless Router wrt120n - Cannot get to Administrative website 192.168.1.1

Hello, I've tried everything I know to do to get to the website but no luck as of yet. I began to upgrade my firmware but i was told that i have to be in the administrative tool to do so. HELP!

First, make sure you are connected directly to the router itself via network cable (e.g. Cat5). Don't attempt the firmware upgrade over wireless!
If you are using Windows, you can open a command prompt (Start menu, run CMD), then type in IPCONFIG. Look for an item that shows your Default Gateway. That will be the IP address you need to access the WRT120N.
When you have access to the log-in page, leave the username field blank and use "admin" as the password. You should then have access to the Administration section of the router.

Hi Jkh12,
On the iPad, turn the WiFi off and back on again. Go to Settings -> WiFi. Turn the switch to Off. Wait a few seconds. Turn it back on. Try connecting to the WiFi network again.
Restart the iPad. Press and hold the Wake/Sleep button until you see the red slider button. Slide to power off. Wait a few seconds. Press and release the Wake/Sleep button to power it back on again. Once it powers back up, try connecting to WiFi again.
Try reseting the iPad (different from restarting). Hold down on both the Sleep andHome buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds (ignore the red slider button). Keep holding both buttons until the Apple Logo appears. When you see the Apple logo on the black screen, let go of both buttons. Once it powers back up, try connecting to WiFi again.
Try resetting the network connections on your iPad. General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.
