I cannot get the Firmware update to my OfficeJet Pro 8500 (A909a) to work.

I first downloaded the FW update 1006BR to replace the 842BR installed at the factory. (On Firefox I was given the option to download or cancel). After the download, I double clicked, the program self extracted, I got the box asking for permission to allow the program to run and I clicked OK. Then I got the box saying the program stopped working, I clicked on find a solution and then the program closed.
I then switched to IE9, it allowed me to run the program directly, but I had exactly the same results.
As per the instructions, the printer is directly connected to the network (always is) and the Windows Firewall was off.

Took me all day to get the old XP working. But, I had success in flashing the printer.
1. Installed the software from the original DVD that came with it. Had Norton antivirus and firewall turned off and installed the printer using USB.
Note: Win XP does not have User Access Control (UAE) and I did not think to turn this off during the unsuccessful flashing on the Win7 PC. If you are running an AV program, I would turn UAE off and disconnect my internet connection. You dont need it to flash the printer.
2. I updated the HP software via the HP solution centre. Open it and you should see a choice to update the software.When updating it tells you that it will fix a communication problem with the printer. Run it. I usually tick the box to "shut down the computer after completion". This way, I can walk away and if it has shut down, it usually has updated successfully. If it is still running and hangs then there is a problem. Make sure to print a test page from the printers property window. If it does, you know it can communicate after the update.
3. Flash the printer. It will happen as per the instructions from HP. I had the .exe on a usb stick and it did it from that.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series leaks ink in the front right corner.

My HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series Printer is leaking black ink in the front right corner of the printer. Leak seems to be very slow. I also can't find any documentation on how to take the bottom portion of the printer apart to investigate the leak.

The pad will print to any airprint compatible printer. Hp makes several, but i do not see yous on the list.

When will my Xperia T get the firmware update it needs?

I am currently running Jellybean 4.1.2 build number 9.1.A.0.489, complete with all its many annoying bugs such as:
Unusable Walkman app- will not skip to next track when the screen is locked
All speaker output is disabled after unplugging headphones, requiring a reboot to bring it back
Occasionally shutting down in the middle of the night while on charge, meaning my alarm doesn't get me up for work!
When I look on forums and the ultra shiny Sony website it seems there is a solution- Version 9.1.A.1.140 supposedly fixes these issues. My problem now is getting the damn update!!! I have tried using bridge for mac, and also the phones built in software update app but everything tells me my phone has the latest software WHICH I KNOW FOR A FACT IT DOESN'T!!!
What does Sony plan to do about this? Is there a known timeframe in which this problem will be sorted out? Or is the phone just going to be abandoned like my previous phone the Xperia Play was?

Firmware update for HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless to fix load paper issue - as for the 8500?

Is there any hope that that soon will be a firmware update to fix the issues loading paper and the printheads for the HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 wireless printer?
A month or two ago there came a firmware update to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 wireless, which has some of the same issues,
and allegedly should have the much of the same load-mechanism as the 8000 printer.
It would be great, as we are on the fourth (4) replacement of this HP 8000 printer. For example, it would be great if we could use normal (80g) paper and not has to use (HP) 90g paper, as this prevents us from using the duplexer and only print on one side.

I have tried in multiple ways since November 2009 to contact HP, when I got the first (of 4) printers. The first 3 printers was subsequently replaced.
Finally in late June 2010 I got the message that there was coming an firmware update for Windows, but not for Mac's. The firmware should improve among other things the paper pick up (load paper issue) and the print-heads life.
I have applied the Windows firmware on the printer from a pc, but still seems to have load-paper issues, even using HP Bright White paper, when printing from Mac's. I have not tested the printing from a pc, but assumes that a firmware upgrade the printer, and are not specific to a certain OS.

One day, in June, I suddenly noticed that when I attempted to scan using the keys on the printer, my computer was not on the list of computers attached to my printer. I did a search of the issue and was told to re-install the software. When I attempted to re-install, I could not get my computer to see that the usb cable is connected. If I download the drivers only, I can get them to load, but the full suite of capabilities will not load and I do not have the shortcut on my computer that allows me to open and scan from the computer screen..

Cannot get Wireless Printing to setup on OfficeJet Pro 8500A

I just purchased the OFFICEJET PRO 8500A and am not able to setup the wireless to work properly
I ran the wireless setup through the printer - it found my network, I entered the WEP - it says it's connected and lists the IP address as 169.254.24.215 . I've run the wireless network test report and there are NO ISSUES on it.
When I load the software and enter the IP address above, it can't find it. I'm running Windows XP. I also loaded the software onto my wireless laptop running Windows Vista and I get the same issue there. The software does not find the printer on my network.
I have a verizon ACTIONTEC wireless router. When I go to the Verizon Broadband page that shows all my active connections I don't see the printer or any device with the IP address of 169.254.24.215. In fact, ALL of the devices (wireless, ethernet and Coax) that I have setup and listed have IP addresses starting with192.168 so this seems odd to me as well.
I've run the diagnostic software and it can't find the printer either. I've loaded, unloaded and downloaded the software from the HP site - same issue. I've turned off ALL firewalls, shut down, etc. Still nothing.
Can anyone help? I'm sure I'm not the only person experiencing this! Thanks!

a 169. ip adress actually shows you its not connected as this is whats called an apipa adress which is assigned when not connected or when connected directly to a pc or other network device. To be on your network the units need to get an ip adres like 192.168 as well.
So go into the setup menu of the unit and find the network menu. In there select restore network default and run the wireless wizard again. But before doing this you can try turning the router security off temporaraly (wep isnt that safe anyway as it can be cracked with free software within 10 minutes, so you might want to change to a WPA key). When the security is turned off run the wizard and see if you get a 192.adres. if yes open your browser and go to the so called EWS of the printer by typing in the ip adres of the printer in the adres bar. From there go to the networking tab and fill in your security data and press apply. you will loose connection to the printer now. Restart the routers security and and the connection should return. You might need to restart the printer first btw.

All this talk about getting the firmware updated

Anyone had any luck rolling theirs back? Updating mine was a huge mistake as I have absolutely no interest in syncing with WMP. I would like to be able to go back to the previous firmware now, but of course the .20.08 firmware app won't detect my player. I can't even get MediaSource to detect my player now. WMP is the only thing that connects and I have no interest in being railroaded into using that ridiculous, clunky system.
Any success stories would be appreciated.

My goes back this Friday, just in time for my HTC Desire to be delivered. Loads of reviews claim the HTC Desire is just as good (some say better than the iPhone 4). Unless you are 100% happy then there is no point in keeping it. A software update is not going to help a hardware problem. When you say not working, are you saying you can't pair the transmitter and the headset (After installing the firmware, you need to re-pair your headset and the USB transmitter)?

Officejet Pro 8500 A909g do not get the correct IP address from DHCP

We reconfigured our network to use 172.16.11.xxxx
We assigned the IP addresses to our OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909g printers by using DHCP reservations.
After joining the wireless network, all our printers have a 169.254.xxxx.xxx address.
What am I missing?

Is DHCP still active on your router? The printer will have to have DHCP active.
169.254.x.x means the printer sees the router but is not getting a valid IP from it.

If you downloaded the correct version for your iPad model (and the different models have different ipsw files), then you should be able to navigate to it in iTunes by pressing and holding the shift key on Windows (command key on Mac) when clicking the Check For Updates button.

I have requested and accepted the most current Firefox program updates with my windows vista system. They are not registering but I am told they are downloaded. Then I cannot get the printer option to work with any version of firefox. in English

I have taken the firefox updates when offered to 4.4. I have the browser as an aside to Internet Explorer 9 as a backup browser. When I use Firefox I am being told my system is not up to date and I need a newer version. I download the version and keep getting told I am not current with firefox. When Firefox DOES work I cannot get any printer icon or settings to enable and allow the printing of a page. I have to use IE9 to get the printer to work. Using eBay I cannot get the uploading of pictures from my computer to consistently operate even though I use small JPG files under 500KB.
