I cannot hear anything

Suddenly my phone stopped producing any sounds, except for the ringtone.
Iphone 4S, uodated to iOS 6 a few days ago, the phone is just 1 week old.
What is wrong ??

The first things to try are these basic troubleshooting steps.
The Five Rs.
If they don't help, it's likely to be an issue that means the iPod needs repair.
Is it still under warranty?

This is a wireless carrier issue. The fact that the speaker & microphone work properly for other apps is a great indicator that your device is fine.
Contact your wireless carrier about your call quality issue.

Cannot hear anything in calls only. Works for Skype.

I am facing a strange problem. I cannot hear anything when making or receiving a call. Neither the earphone or speaker would work. The person on other side can hear me so the mic is working. Strangely this seems to be only a problem while calling via network. Can use facetime, Skype, play music. So assuming there is no hardware issue.
I have tried restarts, restoring to factory settings, none have helped.
Any idea or help will be greatly appreciated.

Does the same file play normally in iTunes? Do other audiobooks play normally on the iPod?
How does "borrowing" work? Does it require use of another app, other than iTunes, to get it on the iPod?

Problem with my headset - right side: cannot hear anything

I have a macbook air and i plugged in a headseat today but I've noticed that the right side of my headset is not working. I cannot hear anything.
I made some tests and tried several different headsets and I realised it is always a problem with the right side. When I try any headset with my mac book air, I've noticed that I could not hear anything at my right ear.
Then I made another test, and I used the same headset and in other devices like my iphone for example. I've noticied that I can hear everything at both sides, so nothing is wrong with the headsets.
It seems to me that there is a problem with my computer. How do I go about solving this issue?
Is there both left and right sound boxes in my mac book air? I am asking this because I cannot see any sound boxes in my macbook air and therefore I wonder if there may be a problem with the right side of my sound box? Can this be possible?

I cannot hear anything from radio (wqxr) - mute button is off. Anyone know how to turn sound on?

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

Nokia N95 8gb cannot hear anything when I call out...

When making calls to other mobiles I cannot hear the ringing or the other person but they can hear me. This is very frustrating and costs me a lot of money because it takes four calls to get it to work correctly.
I have tried switching to loud speaker and that does not work. I have the latest software.
There is no noise at all, no ringing, no talking from the other side. The person on the other side can definately hear me though.
It is weird because it works fine on the third or fourth try.
Please help, I dont want to send my phone away to be repaired unless necessary.

you might want to try the following 1st...
re-start your phone, just turn it off and turn it on again
if that doesnt help then you can try this more drastic measure, but 1st make a backup of your phone's content by going to the memory card and make backup and/or use Nokia PC suite to make a backup, then try the Soft Reset or Hard-Reset: Remember to backup specially for hard-reset, all your phone's content will be erased.
FOR SOFT-RESET:
- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7780#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345
FOR HARD-RESET:
- at Standby Screen type-in => *#7370#
It will ask for “Restore all phone settings-phone’ll restart….”
Then it asks for security code enter factory default => 12345
if this doesnt help contact Nokia Care Point-> http://europe.nokia.com/A4388379
if you are not comfortable with the hard-reset and it is easy for you to go to the nearest Nokia Care Point, then just go there for help...

When i put my phone on speaker phone or try to do a video I cannot hear anything

I have an iphone 4, when I put my phone on speaker, try to facetime, or do a video you cannot hear any sound. Is there any way to fix this?

Yes, I have near-perfect hearing too (for scope, squeaky brakes hurt my ears) I come from many conversations on many phones and types and first off, CDMA technology is great for coverage, terrible for voice quality. HD Voice in Europe made for some of the best phone conversations I've ever had.
Back on track, feedback is most noticable (similar to the landline phone) when using the iPhone without a headset, but for me it's not an absolute criticality mainly because I use VoIP apps alot, so maybe it has desensitized me some over the past year.
But whenever I'm on a call, and the other person has me on speakerphone, I have alot of trouble talking because of the feedback loop caused. So the less of my voice I hear the better I can talk.
Have you tried a bluetooth headset yet?

Cannot hear anything when calling with iPhone 4

I've had my iPhone 4 just over a year and for the past week or so I haven't been able to hear anything when making or recieving calls. Also when going to answer a call it freezes and shuts itself down. I have done the restore and also restored it from new loosing my stuff and this still hasn't fixed it. It also doesn't have any sound when using headphones either. Anyone have any ideas or advice?? Thanks

Sometimes if you are nice to them they will replace it even if it is out of warranty. And if they won't there is a flat fee of $149 to replace it.

Upgraded to 1.1.4 and now cannot hear anything!

I made the upgrade successfully last night and when someone called me today I could not hear from the ear piece. If I put it on speakerphone it would work however. Any thoughts on how to fix this????

I had a similar problem this morning after upgrading to 1.1.4....
The iPod portion of my iPhone acted like it was playing, but no sound was produced from the internal speakers or when hooking up external speakers.
I did the restore and it's working again...however, I have noticed when clicking around it's slower to respond, only a fraction of a second, but not as quick a response like it was prior to the upgrade. (clicking around: iPod screens, SMS, iCal, etc... not referring to the web portion of Safari and a slow internet connection)

Iphone 4: cannot hear anything

During phone calls, with the volume set almost at the peak level, I can barely hear the voice of the people I'm talking to, and I must often ask them to repeat their words.
I've already tried the reset and restore procedure, but nothing has changed.
After waiting two weeks for the delivery, I must admit that I am am very, very disappointed by Iphone 4.

I just sync'd my iPod Nano for the first time. All the audiobooks appear to have been loaded but I cannot hear anything during playback. The volume is turned all the way up. My headphones work when plugged into a different unit. What's next?

I just sync'd my brand new ipod Nano with my laptop PC running Windows 7, and loaded all my audiobooks. They show up on the Nano's screen, but when I select one I hear nothing. The earphones work fine when connected to another unit. What's next?

I'm ok with having to resync everything once she gets home but it concerned me when you said it would, again, wipe everything once I plugged it in here. I don't care about having to reload music, contacts, & apps from here, but I would rather not lose all the pictures that she took while she was gone. If we did decide to go the whole start-over-from-scratch route on her end while she is there, could the loss of pictures be adverted if she created a backup of her phone, copied the backup to a USB drive, & brought the backup file home with her so I could restore it from here? When I plug my phone into another computer, I can open it through My Computer & copy the pictures; could I do that when she gets home before I allow iTunes to open & wipe everything again?
I guess the other option would be to just have her just copy all of the pictures onto a USB drive before she comes home, I'm just curious if it's possible to restore everything if she just brings the backup file home.
