I cannot import my pictures from my camera that I've used successfully for 2 years?
This is the error message that I receive "The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.ImageCaptureCore error -9912.)". Can anyone help?
Check the camera manufacturer website. You may need to update its drivers after 2 years!

In response to all of your responses. I imported my pictures from my camera- that worked fine. I tend to use Iphoto.
Then I synched my MacBook and Ipad 2, that worked fine except when I synched my Ipad for it's normal 2 week synching it copied the pictures again. Now I want to get rid of the duplicates/triplicates- my albums were also broken up and need to be reorganized. I have tried all of your suggestions - thank you-
have gone to the Apple store with no success.
highlighting the pictures and then hitting delete does not work.
Trying to delete them thru my Mac does not work
highlighting and then going to edit does not have a delete
Did not find Image Capture in apps.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't import my picture from my camera to iPhoto '11
I can't import my pictures from my camera to iPhoto '11 please help me!
Can you explain what happens? Do you connect a camera or card reader, drag & drop photos from the Desktop and iPhoto does what?

When i try to import my pictures from my camera i get an error saying unreadable files. What do i do to import them?
First launch Image Capture, located in the Applications folder, and see if you can upload the phiotos to a folder on the Desktop. If you can then import the folder into iPhoto.
Then reformat the memory card using the camera's format option, take a few test photos and try importing into iPhoto again.

When I burned an album that had pictures from 3 cameras that I rearranged the cd came out in camera order not my rearranged order. Can this be fixed without manually changing the cd?
No.
How did you arrange the shots in iPhoto? In an album, manually?
Then Photos Menu: Batch Change -> Set Title to Text "John's Birthday", for instance, and tick the box to append a number to each Photo. Now your photos are titled 'John's Birthday 001, John's Birthday 002 ... etc'
Then File -> Export and in the Export dialogue set the Filename to "Use Title"
Sort on Filename in the FInder and you end up with a folder full of images in the same order as the Album in iPhoto.

I just got my iMac and I just wanted to copy some pictures from my camera's memory card to my computer. turns out 'importing pictures' meant totaly removing the pictures from my memory card. How can I transfer the pictures back to my memory card?
More info:
I used Dynex Compact Memory Card Reader and put my memory card in it to connect to the usb plug
I have a Canon Camera
I am using iPhotoHi.
FYI and future reference, importing pictures does not have to mean removing them from the memory card or camera.
When you plug in a memory card and open iPhoto to import your pictures, there will be a dialog box that opens and asks if you'd like to "Keep" the imported photos on the card, or delete them.
Apparently you selected the option to delete them.
In any case, in order to move them back to the card, you *should* be able to plug the card into your Dynex reader, after which the card should mount and display on the desktop. Then, open iPhoto and simply drag the photos from there and into the memory card.
You may need to recreate the file and folder structure on the card so the camera can find the files when you wish to view them.
I hope this is helpful. -
Since upgrading to iOS4.2 I cannot directly upload photos from my camera using my camera connection it. Is there another gadget I can now use to directly upload photos directly from my camera?
This is a two year old post and your response has no relevance to the OPS question.

How do I get pictures from my camera to my computer using a small card from the camera
There is a small scan card in my digital camera with the numbers SDHC, which I was told when inserted into my computer would give me instructions on how to load the pictures, which it does not. I was given this camera with no book.
This question was solved.
View Solution.texaslas,
Is auto-play enabled?
You could install Picasa3.9 and it will let you import the pictures.
If autoplay is enabled for pictures, see Tutorial

Can I take pictures from my camera that r stored on my SD card.and put them on my ipad
Can I put pictures from my digital camera on to my I pad air
Yes if you buy the camera connection kit, which is a SD card reader you plug into your iPad - or the USB version.
the camera connection kit demands a very specific naming protocol to work, but what it demands is the default for most if not all cameras so it should work just fine.
I have the 30 pin version for my ipad 2 and it works very well. -

Use the iPod as storage for pictures from a camera
Is it possible to use the iPod as a sorage disc for pictures from a camera. I currently use a 40 GByte Archos to store my photos while I´m travelling (there is a possibility to attach a card reader). Is this possible with an iPod as well?
Thanks for any info
WolfgangDepending on which iPod/camera you have, you could use a camera connector.

When trying to upload pictures from my camera I get this message although I have uploaded from the same camera in the past, "iPhoto cannot import your photos because there was a problem downloading an image."
Can you access the images with Image Capture (in your Applications Folder) ?

I've been importing pictures from my camera & my phone into iphoto, but I'm not sure if it's automatically importing it as the original file size and not changing it into a smaller photo... Is there a way I can check this?
Thanks in advance for your helpYes it imports a byte by byte copy of the photo.
What do you mean by 'size'? Do you mean file size? Or the dimensions of the photo (length by breadth)?
You can compare simply by exporting the original out of iPhoto
File -> Export, and set the kind to Original
For help accessing your photos in iPhoto see this user tip:

has details of the options in the Export dialogue. -

I cannot import RAW photos from my Olympus EPL-2 camera. I am using iPhoto 7.1.5. I read that iPhoto has to update their system and add each camera to be able to import RAW photos from it. If this is true, how can I let Apple know to add my camera. Thanks in advance.
The Raw from every model of camera is different. Note: that's every model not every brand. So, the NEF produced by a Nikon D40 is not the same as the NEF produced by a D60, the CR2 produced by a Canon 350 is not the same as the CR2 produced by a Canon 400.
Therefore the Raw for every camera model needs to be added individually. If yours is not supported then let them know you want it:
iPhoto menu -> Provide iPhoto Feedback
When support is added I also expect that you'll need iPhoto 09 or 11.
