  • Simple Question: My Core2Duo MacBook cannot use DRIVERS for 64-bit Windows?

What I thought was a Windows 7-only problem, I think I may have realized that I simply cannot use the drivers for 64-bit Windows anyway. I may need to reinstall Windows 7 using the 32-bit disc instead if I want to use all the features of my MacBook.
The thing is, my MacBook is perfectly capable of running 64-bit software, is this not correct? It's only a matter of paying more if I want everything to work? At least I'll run 64-bit Snow Leopard, I'm sure that will work at least!

Are you getting an error saying that Boot Camp x64 isn't supported on your system? If so, try this:
Go here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/507-built-administrator-account-enable-disa ble.html Follow the instructions in option two, its the easiest way. You'll need an external mouse for right clicking.
Once you've enabled that, log out of your account in Windows 7/Vista, log in to the newly appeared "Administrator" account, put in the appropriate disc with the Boot Camp drivers on it, browse the files on the disc. Go into Drivers, then Apple, then right click and run "BootCamp64"as an administrator. Everything installs just fine.
Then follow the instructions on that page I linked to remove the administrator account.
I have Windows 7 Home Premium x64 installed on my original aluminum unibody MacBook. It runs without a problem. I've even installed newer nvidia GPU (not chipset) drivers. Both to get better performance in the games I do play and because the drivers that ship with Boot Camp 3 are ancient.
Everything works! Should work on any non-ATI x1x00 series Core 2 Duo Mac, since ATI/AMD will not be supporting Windows 7 on those GPUs.
I posted it originally in this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2211248&tstart=15

  • Cannot Install iCloud 4 on my Windows 8.1 labtop

Every time I try to install iCloud 4 onto my Windows 8.1 labtop I get an error which suggests I manually install.  I tried that but that too fails.
I note there is a another thread on this forum about this but whenever I try to reply it says I am logged out. Yet when I log in and go to the forum home page I see I am logged in. When I enter the thread it says I am logged out and I have to log back in, yet the circle continues.
Apple don't like to make things easy, do they!

Edward have you utilized the steps listed in Error "Failed to Install" Creative Cloud Desktop application - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/failed-install-creative-cloud-desktop.html to reinstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application?

  • I cannot install itunes for my original windows 7 64 bit on my computer Windows 7   error msg keeps coming up

    Any help ??

maybe you can let us know what the error message says. I would say you need to make sure you completely uninstall any previous iTunes installation/component first. Follow this guide:

  • Unable to install iTunes for 64-bit Windows 8

Hi guys, I'm having some problems right now, as I am unable to use my iPhone with iTunes. I get the error message; "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes."
I have been able to sync my iPhone fine since i upgraded to Windows 8, this problem MAY have arisen after i last updated iTunes, but I cannot be sure as i haven't synced my phone in a little while.
After uninstalling iTunes myself, i tried to download the 64-bit version for windows from the apple website, but upon opening the install .exe file, i was confronted with some sort of combatability error, which i was unable to solve.
I then tried to re-download it using the Apple Software updater on my computer, but it seems to have not installed the 64-bit version, which I find a tad strange!
Upon writing this, i tried to replicate the compatability error i experienced, so i downloaded the install file from the apple website again, but uninstalled iTunes using that install file rather than using add or remove programs. After I did this, i ran the install file again, and followed the steps- 'Success!' i thought to myself, but alas. Upon plugging in my phone, "This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes." comes up again.
This is very annoying for me as I have some CDs that I'm itching to add to my iTunes library on my phone, and i am unable to update to iOS 6.1 OTA so i can only do it through tethering with iTunes!
    Can anybody help me?!
    I am running:
    Windows 8 Pro 64-bit (6.2, Build 9200)

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • HT6413 I keep getting a installation pkg error when installing icloud for windows 7 on my pc.

I keep getting an windows installation error when installing icloud for windows 7.  I have tried installing manually without success.

There is a very long way which is removing anything related to Apple including stuff in the registry.
The short way is as follows. It worked for me.
I have seen that in the forum EXCEPT the registry trick which is missing and does the different.
    1. Remove the Apple account from Outlook.  In my case a me.com account.
    2. Disconnect the connection to ICloud in the control panel of version 3.1.
REBOOT and open Outlook to see that all traces of the email account and of ICloud are gone.
    3. Uninstall ICloud 3.1. I used REVO Uninstaller in Safe way mode. It removed some stuff in the registry from what I see; but not sure.
    4. Delete as much stuff as possible in the C \Program Files (x86) \Common Files \ Apple
and C\Program Files\Common Files \Apple.  My computer is 64 bits.
    5. Go to the registry by typing regedit.exe or simply type regedit in the Start Box. Search for ICloud.  I deleted TWO entries related to ICloud. Otherwise, you will still see the ICloud control panel despite the fact that you removed 3.1.
    6. then I was able to install ICloud 4 immediately.  Upon restarting it asked me my email and password and added itseft to Outlook like it was before. Be aware that you address book in Outlook could be deleted, so do an export before.

  • Help I can not install iCloud for Windows 4.0.2

Every time I try to install iCloud for Windows 4.0.2 I receive a error message. Then I try downloading the file install but still no luck. What am I missing? I am using Windows 7 Pro with all other updates installed Core i7 3770K,16 Gig memory,64 bit OS,Service pack 1.

My machine at home actually states that I must use the older version for video to work, but for other installing this version has been a useful workaround for a number of issues, not necessarily limited to the video system, but also compatibility issues with other hardware and software.

  • HT1461 I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now

I have installed the Windows 8 on my MacBook using BootCamp already, but I cannot install drivers for Windows now: I've got only BootCamp 3 disk and it doesn't goo even if I start it using compatibility options. And my BootCamp on Mac didn't offer me to burn cd with drivers for windows as I saw in many instructions. How can I resolve the problem? Thanks a lot.

Go back to Boot Camp: on the 2nd page you get this:
Download the support software and as Windows is already installed uncheck the 2nd box.

  • Outlook 2010 won't open after installing icloud for windows

    Hi,
Installed icloud for windows at work this morning after moving my MM account to icloud at home on my MBP.
Installed ok but after ticking the mail, contacts, calendar and bookmark boxes on icloud for windows Outlook 2010 starts but won't open and stays on the "Processing..." for a long time before I close it.
Also the icloud for windows control panel won't reopen except the time it opens after installation. I have tried removing it and rebooting but after it's installed, if you close the control panel it won't reopen although it's still running in Task Manager. Closing it in Task Manager and restarting doesn't make a difference.
Currently I removed, rebooted and reinstalled and only have the bookmarks ticked and outlook works ok but the control panel still won't reopen.
I am on a exchange server so don't know if this is part of the problem. Not real worried about mail but would like calendars working again.
Very thankful for any help you can offer.

I had the same problem after successfully moving from MobileMe to iCloud yesterday on my PC, ipad and iphone.
Today I couldn't open Outlook 2010. An Outlook dialogue box for my MobileMe email account kept asking for the email password, and although I put the password in, it kept re-appearing.
I turned off Norton spam temporarily, because I noticed Outlook was stuck processing the Norton plug ins at opening, and managed to open Outlook but the programme crashed every time I tried to access my email account settings (I thought I would try to delete the MobileMe email account).
I then opened the Control Panel for iCloud and unchecked the Mail with Outlook box, which has enabled Outlook to work again. The @me.com email account was gone when I checked the email accounts. I never needed to use the @me.com email account anyway.
How frustrating and such a waste of my time.
Does anyone know what difference it makes if the MobileMe/iCloud email is not connected to Outlook? Does it really make any difference when you have your email accounts in the iPad and iPhone anyway?

  • I have a PC that I cannot install icloud, it is windows 7 computer plenty of ram, memory and no hardware issues

need help trying to install icloud for pc, have tried from automatic download and from apple sight download and says there is a computer issue?

    Hi sethfrommedford,
If you are having an issue with installing the iCloud software on your Windows computer, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
    Issues installing iTunes for Windows
While the article addresses iTunes installation issues, the steps are also valid for installing iCloud software.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • I uninstalled older version of Itunes because for some reason it wouldn't start. I installed new version 10.7 for 64 bit (windows 7) and it WONT RUN either. help please

I couldn't get my 10.6 version of Itunes to open, so I uninstalled it. Installed newer version 10.7 for 64 bit (windows 7) and it won't run either. Please help?

    Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)
