I cannot leave the home page without Firefox crashing.

'''bold text'''My home page is my hotmail account. I can go to mail and the hot links work. As soon as I try to go somewhere else like the bank or any bookmark, firefox will crash as soon as I get to the second w in www.
I have tried uninstall and reinstall with no change

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.<br /><br />

You can't gift it, gifting can only be done from within the store, not from within your library.
Puchases are considered final but you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

  • How do you set the home page for firefox for android?

I have firefox installed on my tablet. How do i set the home page or start page?

  • How do I refresh the page I'm looking On? How do I go to the home page without clsoeing & reopening browser?

Actually two questions since upgrading to version 9 of Firefox:
    1) In order to refresh a page (in case that page has updated information) I see no refresh symbol and have to click on the URL window and actually reenter it. Is that the only way?
    2) When browser is already open on an other than home page I see no method to get to the home page other than reopening browser. What is the easier way?

Firefox 4 and later use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.<br />
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.<br />
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.<br />
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache this way.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press F5 or "Ctrl + R" for a normal reload

  • My Dell Inspiron runs Vista, and I cannot change the home pages on my browser

I have a Dell Inspiron 530S running Vista. I updated Firefox to 5.0. I want to change the home page for one of the tabs. I change the tab to what I want, I go to Options - General - Use Current Page, and it seems to register. I then close Firefox and reopen it. When I do this, I get the old home page - not the one that was on the screen when I selected Options-General-UseCurrent Page on that tab.
What do I do in order to have that tab come up with the page I want when I invoke Firefox?

Make sure it says "'''Show My Home Page'''" in the first dropdown menu at the top before you try to change it.

  • I cannot leave the first page of a series of slected websites 1, 2, 3 and so on, I always return to the same first page.

When searching an item with Google, a page full of websites is presented, with on the bottom of the page a choice of more websites on the following pages: 1 2 3 4 5 (all with underscore).
When I try to click the next page, always the first page is presented.

    Quit Safari.
Open the Library folder in your home folder as follows:
☞ If running OS X 10.7 or later, hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar.
☞ If running an older version of OS X, select Go ▹ Go to Folder… from the Finder menu bar and copy the line below into the text box that opens:
    ~/Library
Delete the following items from the Library folder:
    Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Preferences/com.apple.quicktime.plugin.preferences.plist
    Preferences/QuickTime Preferences
    Relaunch Safari and test.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Select "/var/log/cups/error_log" from the file list. Post the messages from the time of the last printing attempt.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.

  • I received a update yesterday and from then on I can't get the "home" page of Firefox, just a mostly blank sheet with "done" at the bottom??

Nothing else will load when I'm on Firefox, Yahoo nothing just the white page.

    did that solve the issue? i still believe it has more likely to do something with faulty cache (maybe the restart of the browser really triggered it );
if it was an issue with dns prefetching it would be rather strage since you already were on the domain instructables.com & wouldn't have had to resolve the domain for the subsites again. and since the server, your isp or your local hardware might not support ipv6 fully yet, it can always cause some glitches too...

  • Firefox stops responding when I try to access anything other than the home page; even after reseting and reinstalling it.

I have tried resting Firefox and even sacrificed all my data (bookmarks, add-ons, saved passwords, the whole shebang) for a clean installation. Firefox Stared hanging and doing the "(Not Responding)" thing with a whited-out window. Thus force me to force close Firefox.
This happened as soon as I updated my computer (running Windows 7) and the Task manager is show high usage of processes. All my other browsers work (Chrome, Safari, and even the god forsaken IE) don't hang when trying to leave the home page, browse fine, and close and reopen perfectly.
Needless to say, I'm annoyed with this development.

Did you try the minimize memory usage. If not then try it by following method:
    - On your navigation bar of Firefox write about:memory
    - Click on the button "Minimize memory usage"
    Hope it will work!
    </blockquote>
Unfortunately, I can't even use the navigation bar without triggering the high process usage thing. So this is not an option.

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to install for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Tried this stuff as well. Turned Norton off and it didn't work. Restarted my computer with Norton off, still didn't work. And Firefox didn't wok after I turned Norton back on. Safe mode also doesn't work.

  • How can I rest Firefox 4 becasue when I reset the home page to my site, it operates once correctly and then falls back into a series of five different ages strung together. no matter what I do.

I have opened the options and removed the string of addresses. I have removed the sessionstore files. When I enter any site address as the home page, close Firefox, and reopen it, Firefox opens to the correct page. If I close it and reopen it, it has the series of web pages in the home page block in the Options menu.
I have found that putting a blank page in the home page choice, will open a blank page, but the same string of characters appears in the Options menu home page block.

  • Cannot save two home pages on FF 24 after making changes as instructed, reseting FF and enabling cookies as it instructs. How can I do this? I can do it in IE

I have had remote control of my computer with specialists at Silicon Valley and they cannot change the necessary settings and have them saved either. Have talked to numerous people at Xfinity (I am changing from AT&T to Comcast). Xfinity cannot help either. They said to email Firefox.
I can save my home page as well as another one for emails in IE for Yahoo but not Xfinity. Xfinity has tab come up that says "enable cookies." I have done everything to get the two home pages to open upon startup of FF in Xfinity but cannot do it.
    Is there any help?

Did you try to set the home pages via Firefox/Tools > Options > General?
If you only open both pages in tabs then you can click the "Use Current Pages "button.
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem.

  • Why does my ipad repeatedly return to the home page

My first generation ipad mysteriously returns from apps to the home page without warning.  Can't seem to figure out what is causing this.  Sometimes after I reset the ipad it will be OK for  a while but starts again soon.

Try closing all apps and then reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
This might help for Safari as well. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data.

  • PC users can't navigate my site, the home page is frozen

When I publish minor changes to my site (added graphic cirles behind photos), Mac users can easily navigate my site, but PC users cannot.  The home page is completely frozen for for them, and the links on the site cannot be clicked through.  Does anyone know why this is happening?  My site is:  www.flourpowered.com.  I publish through Go Daddy.  Thanks.

Looking at the browser activity window proves OT's point that the sum total of the image files are causing the page to load slowly. IE is notoriously slow and will not have much chance with a page like yours.
