I cannot log in to my ebay account and it just comes up with safari can't find server

I can't log in to ebay - I just get a message that Safari find the server.

Thank you for your interest in my plight with the **** Safari 11.x Ever since the upgrade, this has happend. I don't have Gues User as it's singel user Latop only. Besides if some relaive want to use I have the security chain so they can'tlook at my Mail or use Safari to login automatically to some regular sites which the Security chain demand the Key first.
I have never tried the Safe mode nor I knew about at all. Thank for this in advance. But what is difference .. may be some driver for some peripheral or plug -ins may be not loaded like Windows 7 ... the graphic is basic EGA resolution and a few othere things don't function. Right?
What's the experience in Safe Mode for OSX Mac 10.6.8 ?
I check my Intego FIrewall Virus Banner X6 and Little Snitch too to see if either one is the culprit ... but Nil find there too ?? I'm at a lost as to how to go about getting access to eBay Account and my Yahoo Account which I use for other webbased communication and registeration and never the Alias email of my current ISP.
I shall do the Safe Mode thing and see what occurs ?

DSL/ ATT Yahoo
I can't connect to Software Update. Also:
Safari 3.1.2 can't connect to internet, instead I get the following in browser- "Safari can’t open the page... because it could not connect to the server"
Other browsers likewise can't connect, except Firefox 2. which does connect with no trouble.
I have tried various "fixes" suggested elsewhere, without success. If you have any idea what it may be and how to fix, you will be 'friend forever' Thanks in advance.

I had this same problem and solved it by unchecking "web proxy". The trouble is, it gets checked again without me doing anything. This happens repeatedly, even if the setings are locked.
Any ideas?

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Cannot log into my yahoo mail account from my iphone4.

I cannot log into my yahoo mail account from my iphone4. The password does not have any special characters. On my PC there is no problem.
Also cannot configure Add Yahoo mail. I woould get a message, stating "Verification required. Log into your Yahoo! account at www.yahoo.com". when I attempt this I get "Invalid ID/Password".

Tried eveyrhting and this was the way that fixed it for me --
if you are having an issue adding the yahoo mail account on an iphone/ ipad / ipod.
In the app store download the yahoo mail app for iphone (it works on ipads and ipods as well.. but there's only an iphone version). After downloading it - open and sign in. It's likely it will say that your yahoo account is 'locked' due to suspicious activity - follow the prompts to unlock it.
Now add the yahoo account under the ipad mail settings.
It should work in the regular ipad, iphone, ipod mail application now.

I have had my phone and broadband connected today and both are working, but I cannot log into the BT Yahoo account to get to emails and also it wont let me use them when I try and download the antivirus software. Yes, there can be a delay from when your connection goes live to be able to access your email account. It IIRC can take about 24hours - depends on how quick the system plays catch up.

Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password. On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.

Resetting User Account Password (10.7 +)
1) Boot into your Recovery Partition holding down command + R at the startup chime
2) Select 'Terminal' from your Utilities Menu Bar
3) Type the following bolded command in: resetpassword
4) From the window that appears, select your boot volume and the appropriate user account
5) Type in the new password and confirm the new password
6) Click Save, close this pane and quit Utilities
7) Select your boot volume when presented with choose startup disk and reboot your machine

It's all rather odd because the old account cannot 'no longer exist' - if you don't have the correct password you won't be able to get into it, but you can't actually delete an iCloud account from the server.
I'm afraid you will need the services of iCloud Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
