I cannot log into skype - email issues

I lost my password for Skype, then I tried to reset it by sending an email to my registered email address. Upon trying to log onto my Skype registered email, I found out that my email was deactivated.
Is there a way I can try to change my password for Skype or to change my old registered email to my new email?

I am having the same problem. I not only cannot login to my skype account on new iphone 6, but app did not respond to a request to change password. I am not using 3rd party keyboard and I re-installed the app. Even though I could still login on my pc I changed my password, can login successfully on PC, but still cannot login on my iphone....

Update 10.5.6 Cannot log into POP email account

After the upgrade to 10.5.6 I cannot log into my email account anymore. I get a message saying that the mail server does not recognize user or password. My wife has an account with the same provider and it works, however, when she tried to create a test account with the same information she gets the same behavior. Additionally I cannot see any of the email previously stored locally, the folders are there but they are empty. Any help would be appreciated

PS. We have tried deleting the plist in Preferences and a few other things suggested in this discussion thread already, nothing works.

This issue may be closed.
The correct account information was entered, but the preferences file (com.apple.mail.plist) was freshly saved upon closing Mail, ie., the original, corrupt Mail preferences file was retained, so Mail would not connect to the account.
When I closed Mail and deleted the preference file (com.apple.mail.plist) Mail was then able to connect to my account and download. I was also able to Import email from a previous version of OS X and this mail was imported to an "Import" folder.

I cannot log into Skype on my iPhone.

I have recently updated my IOS on my iPhone 6 and the most recent update for Skype, Since this I cannot log into Skype. I have the correct Skype ID and I know my password is corretc because I reset this today and then re-tried logging in. Skype still doesn't recognise my details. It is getting bloody frustrating! That is the only way I can define my mood at this point.
Wen i try to log into skype on my Xbox one it says: This Skype account is already linked with another microsoft account.
What can you do?
Use a different skype account? (NO I won't)
Create a new one? (How about noooo...)
Because (duh) I use a different e-mailadress for my Xbox Live account then I use for my Skype.
So I have been chatting with microsoft support for more then 2 hours. And I am this close | | trowing my Xbox One out of my fricking window and re-buying an xbox 360.
So I came up with the genious idea of changing my Xbox live e-mail adress. But that is harder then getting into the Kremlin. Because You cannot change a microsoft account into a different microsoft account (Great going Bill).
So Frustrations keep building up. It looks more like i'm in a pitt filled with snakes and crocs with no way of escaping and each tunnel of hope I find is filled with even more dangerous animals. So here I am. Whispering to the Gods for help.

Understood. Here is how it works.
When you log into Xbox One with a Microsoft account (= Xbox Live account), this is the one that Skype will use.
If you want to log into different Microsoft account on Skype for Xbox One, you need to log into different Xbox One (= Microsoft account) account.
So, you cannot be logged into Microsoft account A on Xbox and into Microsoft account B in Skype.

Cannot log into skype keeps asking to merge accoun...

Hello,
I recently unlinked my hotmail account from my skype as it was constantly showing that I was online to other users when I was using my hotmail for university which is very distracting.
I now cannot log into my skype account as both option to log in or sign up as a new user automatically change to a page to link accounts and will not let me bypass it, thus sign into my account.
The skype I have was already a windows 8 feature, but this whole linking accounts thing is horrible.
I will NOT and DO NOT want to link my accounts.
Anyone got any advise on how to log into your skype without merging accounts?

With the native "modern" Skype for Windows 8 you can only login using Microsoft account. However, if you install the normal desktop version, then you will be able to login with any account.
The currently latest 6.20.0.104 Skype for Windows desktop can be installed using this msi-installer:

HT4484 My email was phished, so I deleted it and changed it completely. Now all the apps that I downloaded with the old email cannot update because I cannot log into that email. Mountain Lion is compatible with the new updated iPhoto. what can I do?

My email address was phished and I had to delete it completely. That was the one I used to download all my original apps on my computer. I have since changed to a new address, but since my apps were under the old one, I cannot update them without logging into the old address. It no longer exists....so how do I fix this?
Some of the apps I don't really care about updating but, I did download the new Mountain Lion and it wants to update my iphots and I can't do it.

When you say you deleted your email and changed it completely, those are actually two different things, and it sounds like you are talking about your Apple ID, not just your email, (because you speak of making purchases with it).
If you changed your Apple ID (preferred, How to change the name you use for your Apple ID), then you would not have another Apple ID and all of your purchases would still be with your only Apple ID, it would just be renamed to your new email address.
If you instead created a new Apple ID (with a different email address) then of course you have two different Apple IDs and the old one still exists and is probably active. Just because you may not use an email address anymore, that doesn't mean an Apple ID of the same name is inactive, Apple IDs aren't deleted. If you start purchasing Apps with your new Apple ID, it can really cause confusion because, as you see, you need to be logged into the Apple ID that purchased an App to update it. It would be best to stick with one Apple ID for purchases, probably the one you have spent the most money with. Remember, unless it's an @mac or @me Apple ID you can rename them rather than creating yet another Apple ID. Since Apple IDs can't be merged or deleted, creating more can be a messy.
If you don't remember what the password is for a particular Apple ID, you can visit iforgot.apple.com where you can reset it, the AppleConnect password. If the Apple ID is no longer a valid email address, you can use the security question method to reset the password instead.
Unless you have made a lot of purchases with your new Apple ID, I'd recommend moving back into your old one, especially if that has the most or the most expensive apps with it. If your new Apple ID is the "name/email" you want to use, you could rename the new one to a secondary email, then rename your old Apple ID to your preferred name/email. Basically, rename the new one to something else which frees up that name (email) to rename your old Apple ID. Thus your old Apple ID has the new name. See My Apple ID. The "Manage your account" link is where you can rename the ID itself.
Sorry about getting long winded here, but it's important to keep as few Apple IDs as possible, at least when it comes to purchases. If an Apple ID is undesired, rename it rather than creating a new one. It will be much simpler in the long run.

Cannot Log into Skype Account

I'm using a MacBook Pro. I have used Skype for years and all of the sudden, a few months ago, my skype wouldn't allow me to log in. I tried to create a new account and that wouldn't work. I've also downloaded the latest version and it still does the same thing. The error that comes up is "please check your network settings." I'm not sure what that means because my interenet is working fine. Someone please help!

Same problem on my MBP, mine just says Skype Cannot Connect. Tried both account (hotmail and regular) and neither one works. Tried resetting passwords but doesn't help either.

I cannot log into my email. keeps saying retreiving user profile failed.

1) I have contacted Verizon and they are not blocking "premium" or 3rd party text messages.
2) The Apple ID login issue occurs regardless of wi-fi network location, or even if I am not on wi-fi at all. Router settings are irrelevant to this problem.
3) I have already played around extensively with date and time settings. This did not fix any issues.
Any other suggestions? I had another call with Apple support and they are of the opinion that I may need to have the phone totally replaced, which is unacceptable unless it is free of charge.

This is not unique to Firefox; Camino and Safari also have this problem. I cannot log into my student email online.

I am using a 2005 model eMac computer with Airport Extreme card installed; when I try to log into the email site for the university, the computer does not prompt me for approval of their certificate. What is happening? This is not an issue with any other site.

I finally figured it out. I had always been able to login with just my Account Name. Now I have to use the email address of the account name. Not sure why that is. So I just added "@xxxx.com" to the Account Name and now it works. I don't have an a Mobileme associated with the Account Name.

I have not been able to log into my Comcast 'zimbra' email here online for quite some time, the little blue circle just keeps going round and round. And the email alternative site no longer works.I can only log into my email with the web browser on my phone.I cannot express to you enough how much I do not like using my phone for email. Yep been awhile again, but I have been trying all my geeky friend's advice.. and.. wait for it.. yep...Still a no go for being able to retrieve email through my ff browser. lol.. it's been what, 3 months now?Oh and yes, history cache cleared as well as temp cache a brand spanking new fresh browser session, updated, disabled addons (all 2 of them), ran Ccleaner to make sure all temp files are gone, and so many of the other "V8 moment" fixes. Question, is it possible, for some insane reason, I would need html5 player enabled/allowable in my browser? Less than 2 months ago I disabled it in my browser because my graphics card is to old, html5 videos just stutter along.. (youtube is now using primarily, html5 players, by disallowing html5 within the browser settings, you force those players to use flash) Any other ideas? I'm fresh out
