If you are wiling to share one of these files via Dropbox, I have a few old Macs floating around that I can use to figure out what files these are, if they are not corrupted during the copying process.
Have you tried OpenOffice or LibreOffice?
If you can see the dates on these files, you can also try looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_word_processors to see what could have been used.
Do you recall the source machine from where these came? You have mentioned Classic II and SE 30.

Hi ebody!
I have installed a Sol2.5.1 to a new ULTRA5 external SCSI hard drive. The installation was successfull.
I have set the boot device to external hard drive and started the booting.
I have got a message "boot: cannot open kernel/unix" !
All kernel files exist on hard drive, I checked it.
Why couldn't run-up the Sol2.5.1 system? I think this is a Sol2.5.1 HW8.
Does the Sol2.5.1 HW8 work on ULTRA5?
How can I run-up the Sol2.5.1?

On OK prompt, use printenv command to check current setting. Use command setenv boot-file "" to change the settings on OK prompt.

Look in your Home > Music folder. There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl You want to guide iTunes to that file. If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.

Rule Number One - NEVER go directly uinto the iPhoto library - there are no user servicable parts in it and making any change no matter how small can corrupt your library and cause data or photo loss
Exactly how were you trying to save a copy of your iPhoto library?
Albumdata.xml does not contain your photos - and again NEVER make any changes to the content of the iPhoto library - no dragging - no changes - never go into the library
We need to know exactly what you did
And probalby the easiest solution is to load your backup from before you messed things up
For reference after you get things working
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

in integrated an winxp-"server" (winxp, windows-rdp-application) into SGD v4.40.917
running on fedora-core8. If i log in to SGD and start the application, i got the Error message
shown below.
If i connect via "ssh -X" to the SGD server and run rdesktop to the winxp, all works fine.
Running "xclock"or "xterm (ssh)" via SGD on the SGD-server works also ...
Could somebody help me to track down this problem ?

That is Pages for iPad v2.0, which Pages '09 v4.3 can't read.
You need to either stick with the older version of Pages on the iPad or get Pages 5 for the Mac which is only available if you are running OSX 10.9 Mavericks.
Unfortunately that is not the end of your woes because Apple has made iCloud convert the files to Pages 5 now, and Pages 5 has over 90 features deleted on top of doing a shocking job of converting older Pages files.

I am using Encore CS4 and I get the error "cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found"
Having searched the forums I can not find a solution for when the project folder has been deleted.
Can someone tell me the solution to this issue.

If you deleted the Encore directory, you cannot fix this. You'll have to start over.
Encore creates this folder structure:
Root or some other Folder
MyProject.ncor (the Encore project FILE)
MyProject (the Encore project directory)
Other Folders for the Encore project (e.g. Cache, Sources)
You can get the "the folder for this project cannot be found" in various ways.
There have been two recent threads in which the user, by accident or on purpose, changed the folder location or name. You can fix this by renaming the folder correctly or moving it back (or moving the Encore project file to the correct relative position).
Folder was renamed. If you name the folder "MyProjectX" Instead of "MyProject," the project file "MyProject.ncor" can't find it.
Encore project file was moved - or Encore directories were moved. If you move "MyProject.ncor" to some other directory or drive (including inside the folder "MyProject"), it can't find the directory - it is looking one directory level below where the project file is located.
If you delete the Encore project directories, the stuff that Encore uses that projects menus, motion, etc, are gone. While many of its instructions are inside the project file itself, many are not. Some of the deleted material might be recreated (e.g. trying to fake Encore into accepting a copy of a menu), but most cannot.

Even I am facing a similar problem. Initially the iTunes worked on my windows 64bit edition. Ever since I downloaded the latest version it has stopped identifying my 4S with an error msg that asks me to download the 64bit edition. I have tried it again and again but it did not help.
