I am running windows 7 premium and the latest firefox. After downloading a program, I go to the download folder but cannot open the program.

Is this how you want this setting?

When you try to open the file, what message do you see?
Check the size, compare it to the online source.
Was there any problem during the download?

I cannot open any new tabs in Firefox on my PC. How can I correct this

hello g.hill250, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...

  • Cannot open any pdf file with safari

cannot open any pdf file with safari

download adobe acrobat reader for free,  saves all PDF files and ideally open under Acrobat
there are much more options for using and viewing the options native in Acrobat than in Safari, obviously.

  • Cannot open pdf files downloaded using firefox. They open fine using safari, and used to open fine before my latest update of firefox.????

I am running the latest version of snow leopard on my mac. Since the last update of Firefox, I have not been able to open any newly downloaded pdf's. I get a message that says "The file cannot be opened.
it may be damaged or use a file format that preview doesn't recognize."
When I download using Safari, everything works fine. I have been using Firefox for a long time and all of my bookmarks are in Firefox.

I also disabled adobe npapi plug-in and now the pdf files open as usual.

  • Cannot open PDF files online with Firefox 4, help suggests foxit but don't know what that is?

Earlier versions of Firefox allowed me to open PDF files online, without downloading. Firefox 4 does not allow me to open and read PDF files online, but requires downloading to computer.
Help suggest altering settings in FOXIT READER, manually, but I don't know how to access Foxit reader, if I have it.
Can I alter settings in Firefox 4, or do I have to go back to earlier version.
    Thanks

I was under the impression Foxit was a pdf viewer rather than an addon for Firefox, but maybe there is more than one application with a similar name.
I did not notice mention of foxit in the help, but add-ons are not always mentioned.

  • 3.6.13 OS MAC 10.6.6 - cannot open url within Mail with Firefox as default browser

new iMac (March '10) - no problem til last week - as above - when
Firefox is my default browser cannot open url's form within Mail.
OK when I change over to Safari - but going back to Firefox same issue.
Firefox browser opens but the page does not load....
    any suggestions?

I have the same issue. One interesting piece of info is if you quit FireFox (go to dock > right click on firefox icon > quit) Mail will then launch the link into FireFox properly. Somehow though users actions must cause it to fail again. My wife uses our iMac more than I do for email, so I haven't been able to re-create what she is doing to lose the Mail > Firefox functionality. Almost sounds like an OS X bug??

  • AirOS (from Ubiquiti) cannot open after entering password with firefox.

Firefox cannot enter the webbased application (AirOS) from ubiquiti networks. This application is used for controlling (control panel) the devices.
In the previous version of Firefox (4.x and below) it can open normally. But in version 5.0 and above it is only open the Login screen. Then after user enter the "User Name" and "Password" the application stack and cannot open the control panel.
I hope it can be fix ASAP. Thank you

    >>the user name and password dialog box will pop up; data can be entered, but the "OK" button does not seem to function.
Is OK button disable? if not ...Does it provide any warning when you click on OK without entering user name or password?
    >>When the "cancel" button is clicked the message regarding unable to connect to server appears.
    This is generic warning.

  • Cannot open any program

I just became member of the crative Cloud and downloade the programs,
But when I want to open any of those programsI receive a message that I first have to join the Creative Cloud in order to open the program. But I did already! What to do?

Log out of the Cloud, restart your computer, Log in to the Cloud

  • Cannot open any library documents with MS Office

I recently starting using Beehive. I am a user, not an administrator. I uploaded a bunch of documents to a new workspace I just created. Now I want to open them for viewing and editing. When I try to open any MS Office document (Word, Powerpoint, Excel), I get a message "Access to this web server is disabled by default because it is controlled by basic authentication and does not use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Do you want to search the Microsoft Online Support Center to view possible solutions?". I click on "No", and then nothing happens. The applicaiton is open, but no file is never displayed.
I have had this message before when opening documents from MS Project Server 2010 library, and always click "No" and then the document opens regardless. It also prompts me for the username and password for the Windows Server where MS Project Server 2010 is installed. I am not being prompted for that when I launch the document from Beehive. However, the MS Project Server 2010 server is located on our side of the firewall. This Beehive server is a shared government server located outside our dept firewall. BTW, I have no issues opening PDF files.
A workaround is to drag and drop the document onto my desktop and then open it. Not very efficient, but it works. I have tried adding the website as a "trusted locations" but can't add the URL. Is this a function of MS Office, a function of our Webwasher, or is it something that must be done on Beehive?
Thought this might be a useful way to do team collaboration across several government depts, but won't do me any good if I can't open and edit the documents I store on there.
    Trish :)

I am having the same problem with UCM 10gr3. Our desktop engineers are doing an enterprise upgrade of MS Office to 2010 and this issue just surfaced. Trish, how do your users authenticate to Beehive? We are using a cusom connector using our AD.

  • Cannot open the SWF file with firefox

right click open SWF files with IE,it's ok , but with firefox opening it ,point out that can't find the application

    IE uses a Flash ActiveX control.<br />
Google Chrome comes with its own flash plugin (gcswf32.dll)(libgcflashplayer.so)<br />
Firefox uses a different Flash plugin.
Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox, so you need to install that Flash plugin.

  • I cannot open my Earthlink webmail with Firefox. I can with Internet Explorer. How can I use Firefox to open it again. That worked for years for me.

This started after I downloaded zotero. Could that be the problem? If so, how do I get rid of zotero?

Sorry, I can't help with Hotmail, beyond clearing the cache - I haven't used it for 11 or 12 years now. Surprising that a Firefox 3.6 version would have trouble there, as 3.6 has been around for well over a year and Hotmail problems are usually with a recent release of Firefox.
IMO, if Hotmail support can't help you with Firefox issues on their website and can only recommend using IE, maybe it's time to change web mail service providers. My advice is to signup with a different web mail service, one that takes Firefox seriously. Then set up forwarding in your Hotmail account to have all your Hotmail emails forwarded to that new account. Then slowly transition your email contacts over to the new email address over time. As long as you log in to Hotmail every month or two, your account there should stay active and emails sent there should get forwarded to the new email account. I have done that three times in the last decade, and the first one I transitioned from was still forwarding email thru the two intermediary accounts to my current account until last summer when that service finally changed owners and they wanted all new accounts set up or transitioned to their new software - which I didn't do - and I hadn't even signed into my account there in over 4 years and "forwarding" was still working.

  • Cannot open any pdf file with Adobe Acrobat X Pro

Unable to open any pdf files out of sudden.
Fatal Error - Acrobat failed to send a DDE command.

    Hey 12a758y,
You might need to choose 'Check for Updates' options in the Help menu.
If the issue still persists, then go to 'Help > Repair Acrobat Installation' option

  • Cannot open any e-mails using Firefox. Has ATT service. No problems with other web sites.

I have used internet explorer and had no problems opening my e-mails. When I access my e-mail which is provided by AT&T using firefox, my entire e-mail is frozen. I am using att.net mail beta or Yahoo mail beta. What can I do to resolve the problem, I do not like using internet explorer. It was working when I switched from basic att mail to the new bata for the last few weeks then all of a sudden it would freeze when I access my e-mail.
