  • Cannot open Dreamweaver CS4 in Mac OS 10.9.4

When I try to open my copy of Dreamweaver CS4 on my iMac with OS 10.9.4 I get the following alert:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
This product has has (sic) encountered a problem which requires
that you restart your computer before it can be launched.
If you continue to see this message after restarting your
computer, please contact either your IT administrator or Adobe
technical support for help, and mention the error code shown
at the bottom of this screen.
    Error: 150:30
I contacted tech support and they said that my Dreamweaver was too old for them to offer support
and that I should try the Forums.
Help! I just need to correct one small bit of text, and I cannot see buying a newer version to do such a small thing.

That is not the same situation. I had the same error today after restoring a Time Machine backup on a new drive. I'm using Os 10.8.5 and CS4 worked just fine with it before the restoration. Here is some help...which so far hasn't worked for me, but it might work for you. ;-)

  • Cannot open Dreamweaver in Snow Leopard

I have a MacBook (alum 2009) that I just changed out the hard drive (the original failed). At the same time I installed Snow Leopard 10.6 on the new drive. Ever since I cannot open Dreamweaver CS4 (or Photoshop CS3 for that matter). I get a 150.30 error code having to do with the licensing failing. I contacted Customer Service and have had NO help sent my way that has solved the problem. It seams the tech support people have no clue.
Can anyone out there help me with this problem?
The latest help sent to me by tech support is the following. It did not work and seems to be for Leopard 10.4 or 10.5:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405970.html

    Thanks Snakeyez02.
I did have the drive replaced under warranty. The Apple Dealer I went to allowed me to upgrade my old 250gb drive to a Western Digital 320gb (of course charging me the difference in price). I had backed up all the data on my old drive on a Time Machine. I purchased the Family pack of Snow Leopard and did a clean install on the new drive. I then restored my data from the Time Machine.
This is when I could not use DW and PS. Both give the same error message ( 150.30: see below ) and then the program shuts down. I tried to call Adobe Support and gave up after being put on hold for two 1/2 hour attempts. BTW, I have Acrobat 8 and it works just fine on the new setup.
I then went the on-line route and am in the process of talking back and forth with some guy that can barely write English. Adobe's support is beginning to frustrate me!
I am using the most current install from Adobe (from a download) and am using a new password given to me by Adobe Support. I have done all the things given in the Knowledge Base article linked in my original post. And I have fixed Permissions in Apple's Disk Utility. All with out luck.
I will upgrade SL to 10.6.1 and see if that works, but I do not have confidence that it will. I feel that somewhere on my computer is an old DW file that will not go away when I uninstall the program (yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times using both AppZaper and DW's uninstall program).
    Any thoughts??
p.s. Adobe has always had a terrible licensing system from day one. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade, but I am really getting tired of their restrictive licensing that punishes those who pay for their programs.

  • Cannot open InDesign CS4

I cannot open InDesign CS4 all it does it show errors and then closes. These are the errors I get.

If you have the serial number with you then you can download the trial version of  ID CS4 from Prodesigntools website: http://prodesigntools.com/download-adobe-cs4-and-cs3-free-trials-here.html. If you had a CS4 Suite then download the appropriate suite and if you had point product i.e. just InDesign then download from the links available for ID CS4 only. You have to be on the trial page of Adobe.com to be able to download from the links. Replace the http://www.prodesigntools.com/ with http://trials2.adobe.com/ <rest of the link here>.

  • XML Parsing Error when opening Dreamweaver CS4

Hi guys, I downloaded a trial version of Dreamweaver CS4
which was downloaded from the adobe website and once i try
installing it it comes up with 'please delete current menus.xml
file and then rename menus.bak file to menus.xml'. Once I tried
that the new renamed xml file has the same problem as the old one.
Now, When i opened up the file in Firefox it came up with an XML
Parsing error. The exact error is as below:
XML Parsing Error: prefix not bound to a namespace
    Location:
    file:///C:/Program%20Files/Adobe/Adobe%20Dreamweaver%20CS4/configuration/Menus/menus.xml
    Line Number 12, Column 5: <shortcut
    mmstring:name="menus/DWShortcuts_Main_Quit" key="Opt+F4"
    command="dw.quitApplication()" id="DWShortcuts_Main_Quit" />

I am running windows XP SP3. Can anyone offer an
insight/possible solution? I've already tried the following methods
which have been suggested by other forums:
CS4 clean script on Adobe website
    Microsoft installer clean up
uninstall and reinstall all CS4/adobe products
    deleting Cache.db
    deleting Macromedia folder
deleting faulty line in menus.xml file
Is there anything else I can do? Thanks guys!

    1) Close Dreamweaver
    2) Navigate to the Design.xml file and rename it.
    3) Launch Dreamweaver and it will recreate the Design.xml file
The AppData folder is hidden by default on Windows, so you need to enable the option to view hidden files and folders in order to locate it, as follows:
In Vista/Windows 7, select Start > Computer > Organize > Folder and Search Options > View. In Advanced settings, choose Show hidden files and folders.
In Windows XP, select Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View. In Advanced settings, choose Show hidden files and folders.
Once you turn on this option, hidden folders are displayed as dimmed icons to remind you to treat them with care.

I have purchased a new Mac power book 10.9.2.  I cannot open adobe illustrator CS4 and get the error message 150:30.  Can you help?

    You are welcome, Sharon.
You should be aware that the newest version, CC, is only available as a subscription.
CS6 can be purchased at Adobe, or second hand, see below.
Older versions such as CS5 can only be bought second hand, with a licence transfer through Adobe, requiring that the licence has not been used as a basis for an upgrade.

  • Cannot open Adobe CS4 application because it is "damaged or incomplete" eve

    HI,
I installed Adobe CS4 on my MacBook pro and everything works fine except for Dreamweaver, which will not open and returns the error message "You can't open the application "Adobe Dreamweaver CS4" because it may be damaged or incomplete."
I've tried both reinstalling a few times and repairing my permissions from Safe Mode. Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this, or what a solution might be?
    Thanks!

Delete the iPhoto application (in yoru applications folder) and reinstall from the original source

  • Cannot open InDesign CS4 file...

A friend of mine called me to say they had an IDCS4 file that they had been working on for a while importing loads of jpg and Word docs and eventually it got 37mb but today the ID document wouldn't open with the "cannot open" error message.
I tried opening it on my Mac with no luck in CS4 nor in CS3. My only assistance for her was to covert an older PDF in PDF2ID which was a solution in a way but not perfect.
Is there anything that can be done to fix corrupted ID files?
    David

    Hi Robin,
    Thanks for your reply.
The file won't open at all. The error message pops up saying "Cannot open IDH PM Induction.indd".
This is not a very enlightening message as it doesn't offer any solution to what to do next not even a suggestion to contact Adobe.
I've tried opening the IDCS4 file on 3 Macs with the same message on each computer.
My friend has a copy of the file but it's a duplicate of the damaged and that won't open either :-(
My conversion with PDF2ID has helped but the PDF wasn't bang up to date so there will be some more work to redo but at least it's not a complete restart.
Looks as if there has been lesson learnt here even if it's the fact that a file can become corrupted at any stage and so saving multiple copies along the way is the answer. Maybe if Time Machine had been installed we could have gone back to a working version. My curiosity is how the file might have become damaged. It's a shame ID doesn't offer a way of hacking into damaged files to at least get something out it.

  • Cannot open Dreamweaver due to Java error.

I have reviewed the other posts regarding this topic and have not found an answer that works for me.
I am using Dreamweaver to update a website.  Upon opening Dreamweaver I receive the following message: "To open Dreamweaver, you need a Java SE 6 runtime.  Would you like to install one now?"
I click "install" and receive the following message "The software is currently unavailable.  To install a Java SE 6 runtime later, open Dreamweaver again."
I have installed the last apple update (which is "Java for OS X 2013-005") as suggested from reading other posts on this subject and receive the following message: "Java for OS X 2013-005 can't be installed on this disk.  An error occurred while evaluating JavaScript for the package."
    I am running OS X 10.8.5 and Dreamweaver CS6.
    Thank you.

If an Adobe staff person, Preran, asks you for a convenient time to phone you, you should should take him up on it.  Chances are you won't get any better assistance than that.  Use the Forum's Private Messaging feature to communicate directly with Preran. You'll find it under "Your Stuff" near the top of this discussion page.

  • Cannot uninstall Dreamweaver CS4

I'm about to install Dreamweaver CS6 on my MacBook Pro (OSX version 10.9.4) and am trying to uninstall Dreamweaver CS4. I keep getting a dialog box stating "Startup Error Required files are missing." What to do? Should I simply drag all CS4 related files and folders to the trash?

    Thanks Ken,
I think the essential problem is that I have no idea where the CS4 installation discs might be. Without them, all I’ve got at this point are useless aliases.
I tried the cleaner tool but with no success. I’ll keep searching and thanks again for your help.

  • Trouble opening dreamweaver cs4 on windows 7

Hi, i couldn't open my Dreamweaver software cs4 on windows 7. I have tried to change the compatibility of the software to windows vista or windows xp, but each time after i click on agree for the rules and regulations nothing happened. Is there anything i can do to open the software?

OMG SnakeEye - you are my hero!
Here's what I did - I right-clicked the parent folder of my site in Explorer, selected Properties/Security and edited the permissions (some of the were Read-only).  At first it wouldn't "stick," but I diddled a bit and was able to make the change and update all my files.  I guess I'll have to do this for all my sites.
Before I diddled, I thought I'd check the computer administrator permissions, but it sounded too complicated:
"You must change the permissions to give the IUSR_computername account the correct permissions so the web server can access the database file. In addition, the folder containing the database file must also have certain permissions set to write to that database..." from http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/10.0_Using/WSc78c5058ca073340dcda9110b1f693f21-79f 0.html
Is there an easier way to do this?
Thank you again!  My migraine is gone!

  • Can't open Dreamweaver CS4 on Vista

Hello! I have a problem with the CS4 version of Dreamweaver.
All other CS4 programs work OK but Dreamweaver just doesn't open.
The splash screen appears and that's it. Nothing happens. I am
using 32bit Win Vista Business edition on my laptop. Does anyone
know a solution for this? Thanks in advance!

Is your computer an Acer? If so, the answer is in the first

  • Cannot open Photoshop CS4 files using Photoshop 7

Hi - I would be very grateful if anyone has solved this problem before and can help me.
I am trying to send a smallish (5 Mb) layered CMYK Photoshop file from my version (CS4) to someone who is still using Photoshop 7 but they are completely unable to open it. I have saved it using 'Maximize Compatibility' and there are just 3 layers, no fancy layer effects, no layer sets, and each layer has a transparent background. Every time the other person tries to open it (via File -> Open), their Photoshop hangs and they have to force quit. It will open in Graphic Converter but it is then saved as a flattened image which is no good. I'm at my wits' end what to do to get this to open in PS7 - does anyone have any ideas?
    I am using Photoshop CS4 on a Mac Pro, OS X 10.6.3; they are using Photoshop 7 on a G4 867 DP, OS X 10.4.11.
    Thanks very much -
    Deb.

If anyone else should come across this sort of problem, here's the scoop:
It's a metadata parsing bug in Photoshop 7 and CS/8 (version 3-6 no problem, version 9-12 no problem).  It is caused by the history metadata in the file, possibly because of the length of the history, possibly because of the InDesign history bits.  I don't have a MacOS 10.1 system avaialble to debug Photoshop 7 any more, so I can't be positive about the exact cause.  But we know that Photoshop CS2 and later work just fine.
If you wait 30 minutes, Photoshop 7 does eventually load the file.  But that hurts productivity.
The history metadata can't easily be deleted in Photoshop (or ImageReady, Fireworks, etc.).  But if you copy the layers to a new document, the history metadata won't be carried over.  Save the copy, and that copy will work just fine in Photoshop 7 and CS/8.

  • Can't open Dreamweaver CS4

I've had this for several years. I even opened it yesterday. I tried clicking on the shortcuts and the .exe file itself inside the Program file but it won't open. I have Windows 7. It shows as running in Processes but it won't show in Applications tab and it doesn't even open at all after waiting for over 5 minutes and restarting computer. Help. Photoshop and Fireworks opens. I have Adobe Web Suite package.

I just started having this same problem. I can't start it from start->programs. Then I could start it by opening a document that I had open recently in Dreamweaver. But I had to go into processes first and stop it. Sometimes I have to repeat this over and over again, try to open a DW document, it won't open, stop the process, try again. I just had to do it about 6 times before it would open..
