I cannot open my e-mail, make a reply, or access my address book in Firefox.

In Firefox I can call up my e-mails which I access from Comcast, but when I try to open them they will not respond to the usual double-click, and if I want to reply, I cannot access the reply page. Nor can I access my address book. I do not have this problem using Internet Explorer or Thunderbird. However, I much prefer Firefox over these options. Any ideas as to what is causing this problem will be welcomed.

  • I am gettin an error message when trying to open a contact: "There was a temporary problem accessing your address book. Please try again in 10 minutes."

I am using an Yahoo Email and I can open a list of contacts but getting an error message when trying to open any of them. My OS is Windows Vista Service Pack 2 installed on a desktop.

Does this issue occur on another browser? If this issue does occur on another browser then I would like to say that it is a Yahoo issue and not a Firefox issue.

  • TS3276 Mail is not working.  Cannot open new e-mail; cannot send mail.  Connection doctor shows green dot in status column.  I can't delete old e-mails to free up space.

Mail is not working.  I cannot open new e-mail; and I cannot send mail either.  Also, I cannot delete past e-mails to free up space.  Mailbox seems to hang in general.

    OS X version?

  • I cannot open emails in MAIL - they come through from Webmail, but I cannot open them....please help....

As above, I cannot open emails in MAIL - they come through from Webmail, but I cannot open them - I can also not read Sent messgaes or old emails that I have already read. They just don't open....please help....
    Thank You!

Use Mail to access your emails and not a web browser.
If you have not done this before you can probably get instructions about setting up Apple Mail from your email provider's web site.

It sounds as though a script on the site, or an advertisement, is not working quite right...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
    (1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
    (2) Remove the site's cookies using either of these. Save any pending work first.
While viewing a page on the site:
    * right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
    * Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

My mac book air e-mail is trying to upgrade but it has frozen. How can I stop the upgrade as I cannot open my e-mail?

This isn't the fault of firefox. Firefox is a web browser, not your email provider. I'd suggest contacting them (whoever you use, gmail, yahoo, etc.) and asking for help.

  • Since installing Mountain Lion I cannot access my address book whentrying to send or forward an e-mail. How can I fix this?

Since installing Mountain Lion I am unable to access my address book when sending or forwarding an e-mail. The insert address link at the top does not function. Previously it would be blue and would respond when clicked on now it does nothing. Is there a fix for this?

Can you open Contacts and edit, insert, and delete cards, or does it fail to work, also?
Try the steps I outline here: Re: After Lion upgrade, my addressbook does not work++

  • Mail doesn't seem to honor my address book

I recently updated to Tiger and since then all the rules I had set up previously are not being honored by Mail, nor is it recognizing addresses in Address Book when I am receiving my emails. It's as if I'm starting out with a blank Address Book and having to add all the addresses on incoming mail to my address book for Mail to recognize they are there. Messages are being directed to the Junk folder unless I have gone in and rewritten the rule for a specific address or group - then Mail recognizes that part of my address book and responds to the new rule.
Oddly enough, when I am composing, Mail sees my Address Book just fine and shows addresses as I type.
Has any one else run into that and if so, what did you do to correct the problem?
    G4 dual, iBook G4, G3 desktop, Apple IIsi   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

I have sort of the same problem. I bought a new iMac a couple of months ago. Since then Mail does not seem to recognize my address book entries. It continues to ignore rules based on my address book. I got curious and looked at my previous recipients log. It shows address that are in my book as non members. Why. What would I have to do to fix it. I know its a small problem, but is very annoying.
    Example.
Say [email protected] is in my Address book.
Mail refuses to see her in my Book. My previous recipients log shows it as a non address book entry.
Could it possible be because it is not the main email address. ie, it's a work address not a home address? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thx in advance

  • Cannot open links in Mail--error message "IMDontAskAgainBigNoCancel.nib"

All of a sudden, I get the following error message when I try and open a link sent to me in Mac Mail---"IMDontAskAgainBigNoCancel.NIB". I downloaded Thunderbird thinking that it was a Mac Mail problem, but the same thing is happening. The error message says that it cannot open "Dutch 1proj". I have deleted all Dutch from my hard drive but the same error message still appears.
The mail opens fine---it is just when you click the link that this happens. Any advice?

You appear to have deleted or otherwise messed with some system files and aren’t providing all the relevant information here.
Quit all the applications and verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described in the following article:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all the filesystem issues, if any, try reinstalling the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using (which you haven’t provided either, but I’ll assume it’s Mac OS X 10.3.9), unless this is the version of Mac OS X that came with the computer:
Mac OS X 10.3.9 Combo Update
You may also have to reinstall the following Security Update, which includes most of the security updates released after Mac OS X 10.3.9:
    Security Update 2007-008 (10.3.9 Client)
Take a look at the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:
    Troubleshooting installation and software updates
    Installing software updates
Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk and back up before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.

  • I cannot open attachments in Mail

Suddenly, I cannot open any attachments in mail.

I see it's been sometime since this problem was posted, but in case it's helpful...
I found a solution to be to goto "View," then, "Message," and then choose "Best Alternative."
This suddently allowed the attachment to be visible for me. I am not certain why this happens, may be related to Outlook 2011 formats for sending emails, but this is merely conjecture. I tested some emails (both to iCloud and Gmail) with attachments and did not have the same problem.
    Hope this helps!
    Best,
    Will

  • 3.6.13 OS MAC 10.6.6 - cannot open url within Mail with Firefox as default browser

new iMac (March '10) - no problem til last week - as above - when
Firefox is my default browser cannot open url's form within Mail.
OK when I change over to Safari - but going back to Firefox same issue.
Firefox browser opens but the page does not load....
    any suggestions?

I have the same issue. One interesting piece of info is if you quit FireFox (go to dock > right click on firefox icon > quit) Mail will then launch the link into FireFox properly. Somehow though users actions must cause it to fail again. My wife uses our iMac more than I do for email, so I haven't been able to re-create what she is doing to lose the Mail > Firefox functionality. Almost sounds like an OS X bug??

  • I cannot open my e.mails in virgin media. This is a recent problem only. They used to open ok. I can open them with explorer and I can open my Yahoo mail ok. Feels like a config. problem, any suggestione ?

Firefox is my browser. Until recently, I was able to open my virgin e.mails ok. Now I can't. I haven't made any setting changes. I can open my Yahoo mail ok, just not my virgin mail. Virgin tell me its a browser (incompatibility) problem. I can open my Virgin mail if I use Internet Explorer. I can get to my Virgin mail page ok, I can see I have mail etc., it just won't let me open that mail. All I get to see is the title of the mail but no content.

when I open my e mails on Safe-mail with Firefox I cannot open my HTML messages. It just comes as a blank page and says new tab at the top of the screen. I dont have this problem if I use Internet Explorer, but I much prefer to use Firefox and it is a nuisance having to use Internet Explorer just to open my HTML messages, and I get an awful lot of them.
Can you help solve this problem please?
