I cannot open my earthlink mail now and was able to before, why?

I was able to when we first bought the computer (a couple weeks ago) and now I can't. I have no problems opening it on other computers and it is really irritating that I can't open it on here.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Cannot open my e-mails now on NetZero with Forefox. O.K. with MS IE!

Since the latest Firefox upgrade, I have been unable to open my e-mails on NetZero.com. There are 4 "spots" where I can click to get my e-mails. None of those now work with Firefox. It works fine if I am on Internet Explorer. Another new Problem: When I sign onto the internet with Firefox, and I click on the e-mail link, it does not display the page properly. Instead there is an error message at the top of the page that says "Disable automatic page updates". It looks like the whole page is displaying in text instead of graphics. If I click on the above error message, I get to the customary e-mail display. This does not happen with IE.

Delete then add back the exchange acct on each device.

You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5/5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.1 sometimes can not open its own files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has not only managed to confuse all its users, but also itself.
Note: Apple has removed over 100 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:

Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store.

Cannot open XML file with Excel2010 but was able with Excel2007

Hi,
We have crated couple of dashboard on BW query by using XML Map(BSP Link) previously with Excel 2007. Just recently we have migrated from MS 2007 to MS 2010 for some other technical purpose(Ex: - Power Pivote). Now when I am trying to add BSP link using XML map in Xcelsius, which is using Excel 2010, I am getting below error.
"cannot load the specified XML or schema source"
Same link can be open by my team mate, who is still using Excel 2007.
do we need any additional setting in Excel 2010 to use XML map?? your quick help will be truely appreciated.

Cannot here sound in Premiere Pro, but was able to before.. What happened?

When I open Adobe Premiere Pro, import the video onto the timeline, then play it, I see video but hear no sound, my computer does get sound from other programs like internet explorer, power DVD, or Windows Media, but for some odd reason I cannot hear the sound when played on the timeline or in the project window in Adobe Premeire Pro. It has before, but I don't know what has happened for it to stop hearing the sound now. Can anyone help?

So you are saying get the very latest, Operating System updates or Audio card drivers? or both?
In this case, I am talking about the audio card/chip's driver. These are very fragile and a lot of OS updates effectively kill them. That is one reason that most mfgr's will release these monthly, or sooner.
Okay so when I look into the ASIO settings (Edit > Preferences > Audio Hardware > ASIO Settings) what should I be looking for?
It would probably be easiest to post screen-caps (or a list of all settings) of your Audio and Audio Hardware settings.
The above is an example. I think that it is from PrE, and not PrPro, but similar.

Unable to open scanned pdf files today. Was able to before.

Today when attempting to open scanned pdf files which opened successfully yesterday, this message appears:
"Paint cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file, or its format is not currently supported."
As I mentioned this was not a problem yesterday. Suggestions? Thanks!

If you are trying to open a file in paint, why are you posting in the Adobe Reader forum. Paint is an MS product. Since you have a pdf file, try opening the file in Adobe Reader using the File->Open dialog box. That should work.

If you cannot get mail to quit/force quit, you can always remove power from your Mac.
NOTE: removing power is a bad idea, and can result in data loss, but sometimes it is the only thing left to do.
Press and hold the power button for 5 to 10 seconds, and the Mac will power off.
When you power back on, the Mac should reboot.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

When you click the download link on [http://getfirefox.com GetFirefox.com], you should be asked if you wish to Run or Save the file. If the described situation happens when trying to Run the download, try instead to Save it and put the file on your Desktop or a similar place where you are certain that you can find it again.
When the download is complete, try double-clicking the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from My Computer). This should start the installation.
If you notice in the Explorer window that the file seems to be lacking the Firefox orange/blue icon, rightclick the file and select Properties. Slightly off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit out of date (IE 6, where current version is IE 8), so I would strongly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system updated. If this is a company system (like a Terminal Server thin client machine), this may not be possible, and your system administrator will most likely have to help you.

It sounds as though a script on the site, or an advertisement, is not working quite right...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies using either of these. Save any pending work first.
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Use Mail to access your emails and not a web browser.
If you have not done this before you can probably get instructions about setting up Apple Mail from your email provider's web site.
