I cannot open my recent numbers documents

I cannot open my recent numbers documents because I get the message saying I need to download the latest version from the App Store although the App Store says I have the latest version (09 v2.03 is installed) I cannot do anything. I have tried quitting everything & restarting. Just keep getting the same error message and it refuses to open

Unfortunately, the preference in Finder's Get Info doesn't work for setting a default since the file names are identical. Some users here have gone into the Applications folder and changed the filename of one of the apps to distinguish them.
A decent workaround is to make sure you have Quite both Numbers apps and look to see if either is on the Dock. If so, drag the icon off the dock. Then use Spotlight to search for Numbers. Two apps will be found:
Numbers - Applications and Numbers - iWork. Choose Numbers - Applications by clicking on it to launch the app. When the Numbers icon shows up in the Dock, Right-Click the icon and choose Options > Keep in Dock.
Henceforth launch from the Dock rather than from the document. To open documents, you can use the File menu in Numbers, or you can drag the file to the Numbers icon in the dock.
I've read that if only one version of Numbers is running, that's the one that will be used if you simply double-click a document name or icon. I haven't confirmed that.

On each machine turn on iCloud and sync all the available apps. Apple explains how to set up iCloud in http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
After doing this run software update on each machine and install all the suggested updates. If you still need help installing the most up-to-date versions of iLife and iWorks open the Mac App Store - click the Purchased tab and update all that need to be updated.

Problem when opening an iCloud-Numbers-Document

I cannot open a iCloud-Numbers-Document either on my iPad, neither on my MacBook. It only shows me an error message...

I too have this problem, but I have found a work around for it.
First I turned off iCloud storage for Numbers in the settings on my iPad. Then on my iMac I logged into iCloud.com land there is a Numbers app, which is still in beta, clicked on it and choose the file I wanted and choose the option to download it. Once downloaded I fired up iTunes and tried to import it into Numbers, but that didn't work so I choose another app, I have Textastic imported into that and then on my iPad opened the app and choose to open with Numbers from there and it worked.
I have also emailed my spreedsheet to myself and choose the option the open with Numbers from there and it worked. This method should also work with Dropbox, which I haven't tried but I will be adding my spreadsheets there for backup!
Hope this helps, it's a bit of a long winded hack, but it works. Hope Apple fix this soon.

Hi everyone,
Does anyone have any idea why this error would be occuring when a user tries to add a sales order?
u201Cyou cannot open rows in the document [sales order u2013Rows u2013 Rows status] [line0] [Message131 -194]?
If the user closes the sales order and then recaptures it, the sales order goes through. As you can imagine, the order clerks are getting a bit angry when their large orders have to be closed.

Lets start some troubleshooting your system
1.Are you using formatted search in Sales Order
2.Are you using sp_transaction notification
3.Did you do any changes in your system recently like upgrade ,
4.Is it happen only to certain item or BP
Hint :
1.Disable all addon
2.Disable your formatted search
3.Disable sp_transaction notification
4.Try to create a sales order and .,
Does error occur again? Please also specify your SBO version and Patch level
<Note> Try test your issue test environment

Cannot open old Page & Numbers Doc. after installing Yosemite 10.10

I found a fix. I opened up the document (either Page or Numbers) in Preview. Then under Edit I hit Select All and then Copy. Then I opened up Page or Numbers and opened a blank document. Then under Edit I hit Paste and Match Style. Then Save Document under new name.

Cannot open Pages or Numbers on Megapack for iWork , Cannot open Pages or Numbers on Megapack for iWork

I purchased the Megapack for iWork & Office two days ago and cannot open Pages or numbers. I've been on to Apple support for 3 days now. They have told me to delete app and re-download it. Having done that, problem persists. I've also been told to contact Nick Maskill, the app developer, but the link they gave me to do this http://keytemplates.miniurl.org comes up blank.
This is driving me nuts........has anyone else had the same problem? Have you been able to contact the app. developer?

I am having the exact same issue as you. I purchased and downloaded SpreadsheetPro and all that shows is a blank black screen. On the advice of ITunes, I deleted and downloaded again. Same issue exists. I have tried to contact Nick Maskill to no avail.
Interestingly it showed up in my Evernote App as a zipfile. Still could not open.
Have you had any resolution at all? I am at a loss and feel ripped off for $30

Is the "it" that you have to update the document or the app you are using to open the document? If it's the app, then make sure you are trying to open the document with the Numbers located in the main Applicatons folder, not the Numbers in the iWork '09 subfolder. The one in the main Applications folder is the latest version of Numbers. The one in the subfolder is the old version.

My MacBook Pro (2.5 Ghz Intel Core i5) is running OS X 10.9.4. Here is what happens when reading an online user manual that I want to save to the Desktop and read later as a PDF file on my iPad or phone. With Safari I will select "Export As PDF" and the file shows up on the desktop. Even after multiple trials, there will be a dialogue box indicating the file cannot be opened. If I check the file info, the size is "zero." Trying to save the file as a pdf using the Print menu yields the same results. I have tried both of these methods using Preview, Adobe Reader, and PDF Pen Pro. This strange behavior also occurred several weeks ago and I finally abandoned the effort. But when the same thing happens twice, it becomes an issue that needs to be resolved.

On the trial Window you need to click on 'License the software' and use your Adobe ID to license the software.

Since Mavericks I can no longer open Pages or Numbers documents

Please help, I cannot open recently worked on files in Numbers or Pages and I cannot view PDFs in Preview. I have tried using both the old versions and the new apps.

I shut down the computer and turned it off, then turned it on again, and presto! I can access my old files again. Might be worth a try.

My Adobe XI trial ended. Now I cannot open up any pdf documents because it wants me to pay for XI

How do I get back to just clicking on a pdf document and having it open up. My XI trial ended and now I cannot open up any pdf docs.

The trial has ended but you still have the software. This is on the assumption you will want to buy it. If you don't, then uninstall it
* the usual way for Windows
* run the uninstaller app for Mac (don't just trash it)
You may then need to repair or reinstall Adobe Reader, and you will be back how you were.
