I cannot open my Templates.

I have recently installed Lion and the software up dates, everything was going OK but suddenly after a week or so when I go to Template chooser I get the multi coloured disc and the whole programme hangs up.
Any ideas out there ?

First point, it's really boring to see inconsistent infos in a single message.
You say that you are running Lion but your 'signature' is always stating "Mac OS X (10.6.6)"
Second point :
never got this odd behavior but I installed Lion on a blank HD, not on an already existing 10.6.8.
It may make the difference.
As always when an app doesn't behave as it is supposed to do, it's useful to try to run it from an other user account. This way we would know if the wrongdoer is in the original account or if it is in the huge set of sharted files.

I just upgraded to FF7 & notice I cannot open the templates in Open Office using the 7 upgrade.. FF did have an extension out there "OpenOffice.org Menu 1.2.1" but it does not work with 7.. So now what ? I have Open Office & it works fine but if I want to open & use any of the templates I'm out of luck..

This works fine in visual studio 2008 and server 2008. But after migration to visual studio 2012 and windows server 2012(this code runs in a windows service in server) it is no longer working throwing COM Exception - "An Exception occurred" while
opening a template. Visio 2013 is installed on both server and client. Tried changing the file extension from vst to vstx. but no use.

Cannot Open .indd template file

Hi,
I have some javascript code that I am porting from CS3 to CS5.
The code was working well on a Windows Server as CS3.
I have ported this to run fine on my local Mac machine on CS5.
As soon as I try to run this on a Mac Server running CS5 I get issues.
Here is the original code snippet.

The file exists and template.exists is combing back as 'true'.
The error logging coming back is this:
Error: Invalid value for parameter 'openOption' of method 'open'. Expected OpenOptions enumerator, but received TRUE., Invalid value for parameter 'openOption' of method 'open'. Expected OpenOptions enumerator, but received TRUE.
I have tried the following code variations with the following results in red.
document = app.open(template);

Like swingcarlos, I'm a bit confused what problem you're trying to solve, Jongware. He's already got a way to tell.
Though I would probably use application.hasOwnProperty("serverSettings"), but it probably doesn't matter much.
What would be nice would be an open() method with compatible type signatures on both. But it seems clear we're not going to have that.
(There's also app.serverTest(), but I don't know what that does... Ah well...)

Cannot open or use templates in OpenOffice & Star Office with FF7

I have Open Office & Star Office downloaded but now with FF7 I cannot open the templates on either one so I cannot use them. There used to be a FF extension for Open Office but it doesn't work with FF7... Help

I am assuming that you are referring to a Windows system.
SO7 and OOo1.1.x are based on the same OOo build series - 645. Most of the time comments about one apply to the other, except in the case of SO7 commercial addons. (SO8 is 680).
The error message indicates that their is corruption in some kind in the User data found in
\StarOffice7\User.
The easy way to fix it is to back up the User folder, then delete it and let SO7 rebuild the user data.
You can try backing up and deleting Common.xcu only--it's found in two places, in both the Share and User folders.
\registry\data\org\openoffice\Office
I suspect the one in Share is used for the creation of the one in User, but I am not sure.

Cannot open templates

I have just loaded PH 6.52 on to a new laptop running Windows Vista and cannot open the templates. When I click on a screen icon for a template or go to the Open/Templates section I receive an error Cannot Open File Error 8009:-001. Any ideas for a fix would be greatly apreciated. Thanks.

You've installed PageMaker 6.52 on Vista? Congrats on getting it to install, but after that all bets are off. PM6.52 must getting on for 10 years old now.
You could try changing the file extension to .P65 and see if that helps, but it's a long shot.

A. Adobe PageMaker 7.x does not install or run on Windows Vista. Adobe announced in 2004 that it was ending development of PageMaker but would continue to sell and support the current version. It does not plan to update PageMaker to support Windows Vista.
So there's no chance with PM6.52.
If you have a PM Licence, treat yourself to a discounted copy of InDesign - it's far, far better.

Pages quits when I open any template

I just installed iWorks 06 on my new Mac Pro. Whenever I try to open any template, Pages and Keynote quits. I can open a blank page, but I cannot open any template or older file created with a PPC Mac G5. Why am I having such problems?

1. You'll find the file in users > [yourname] > library > preferences
2. Given the requirements of OS X and other software, I'm sorry to say that 512 MB doesn't provide the elbow room it once did. It's hard to know if that's an issue with you, because I don't know what other software you've got running at the same time as Pages.
Try trashing the plist file first. If that doesn't cure the problem, try quitting any unnecessary software before you start up Pages.

It has moved your original Motion 4 app to a new folder, Final Cut Studio I believe. You have to locate that and move all the apps back into your applications folder. You should be able to launch Motion 4, although not at the same time as Motion 5.

Cannot open a report I just saved via Save a Dynamic Template

Hi All,
I am on BPC 5.1 SP9, working in Office 2007.
The problem is happen sporadically, where I save a report using Save a Dynamic Template. Then try to open up the report I just saved, and the report does not open. Sometimes if I resave the report via Save Dynamic Templates, I can reopen up the report. If that does not work, I go back into Save Dynamic Template, and save it to a new name, and see if I can get the report to open.
The strange thing is I can save the report to my desktop, then go into BPC. Every time I open the report from my desktop it always runs.
Not sure if anyone has seen this before?

Does your template have an Excel 2007 4 digit extension?
There is a known issue with BPC 5.1 sp7 or higher service pack and Excel 2007 format extensions (SAP Note 1347243)
Files with Excel 2007 Extension such as XLSX and XLTX, (saved and opened repeatedly via eTool -> Save / Open Dynamic Templates menu) may have issues where the template will not open.
The problem does not exist with BPC 70M sp3 or higher.
The note also has a possible workaround; suggesting renaming the template on the File Share Server and then opening the re-named template via Open Dynamic Templates menu.

My Pages has locked up. I can see my documents but nothing will open. I cannot open a new document either. Any ideas?

I have used my Pages software for years. All of a sudden, I cannot open anything. It shows my documents on the "open" tab but then in will not open them. Also, when I try and create a new document, I get the error message stating that "Starting point 'blank.template' couldn't be found. It was moved or deleted." So I'm thinking my whole Pages application has been deleted somehow. Is there a way to re-install it without repurchasing it? Help!

Where and how did you buy it? As a DVD from a store, a download from Apple or from the Mac App Store?
If you got it from the Mac App Store, just delete it and (re)install it from the Purchases section.
If you received a DVD when you bought it you just need to delete it, reinstall it and update it.
The best way to completely remove iWork from your Mac is to use Yvan Koenig's AppleScript:
Go to https://public.me.com/koenigyvan
Choose For iWork > iWork '09 > Uninstall iWork '09.zip
Download Uninstall iWork '09.zip, decompress it, open it in AppleScript Editor and click the Run button
It'd might help to know what version of Pages and OS X you're using.

Cannot open Pages Document

I cannot open an Pages document that a friend created on his Mac. Somehow it got corrupted. He made the document from a template I made for him. I called Applecare and they couldn't help me. We were able to open any other Pages documents I tried to open on my Mac; but not that one. Any suggestions? Does anybody know about any programs that can be used to repair .pages documents?

Thanks for responding to me. I'm using Pages 5.2 (1860) and my friend was using the same version. He told me that somehow the program changed the file name too. I even tried changing the suffix in the file name from ".pages" to ".docx" and saw the jpeg images of the file. I could see on these jpegs that the document does exist. Can you suggest any way I can repair the document? Thanks again.

Cannot open Aperature after upgrading to Snow Leopard

I upgraded my macbook pro to snow leopard. Now I cannot open my Aperature (2.1.4). Anyone else have this problem? I keep getting an error box telling me that Aperature has shut down unexpectantly. I try to restart it and all I get is the same error box.

"hmmm, did you relink the template from a new location, or did you put it in the same location and then relink it" What do you mean by relinking? I did put it into the same directory. When I bring DVD SP up without loading this project, I have the menus and can double click on the menus to to bring it up in the viewer. At this point, I think I should try to do a new project to see if this error repeats itself. As long as I can build and burn on my Mac Book Pro, I am OK. Is it possible that the file itself became corrupted somehow? Just a thought. Thank you for your help.

2010 Review Approval Workflow Error - Outlook cannot open a new form

I set up an Approval - SharePoint workflow on a document library list in a webpart. When the approver got the email and tried to approve from outlook, she received the following error. She has approved documets in the past for the same page.
Can anyome please help me troubleshoot this? So much appreciated!

can she open see this file in SharePoint designer 2010? that is, open the site with SharePoint designer and navigate to All Files->_catalogs->wfpub->Approval - SharePoint 201o. If she can not see the file there, ask the workflow creator to publish
the workflow again. I had experienced strange issue in SharePoint designer 2007 and solved by check out all the workflow files and check in again
