To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

  • I cannot download software or export secure Certificate from Firefox, but can with Internet Explorer. This is crucial for meeting a deadline with an international patent Filing Today. Pls help - 555-555-5555. Sheldon

I tried to download an e-filing client software from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) website [http://www.wipo.int/pct-safe/en/download/download_client.htm] using Firefox. Clicking the link to download yielded no activity. I eventually tried the same link in internet explorer and it worked. This occurred last week. I have a deadline to complete an international patent filing today; and in order to do so online, I had to request a Secure Digital ID from WIPO. It was approved and received early this morning (Central European Time Zone); and the accompanying guidelines suggested that I use the same computer and browser to retrieve the ID. This meant that since I use Firefox as my default browser my request was also made and had to be retrieved in Firefox. Following the WIPO support instructions I ran into exactly the same problem of inactivity when trying to "Backup" my newly installed ID certificate per WIPO instruction, so that it may be imported into the e-filing software. Please help as soon as you can as my patent deadline is merely hours away. Please also see a response from the WIPO helpdesk below:
    Dear User,
we hereby provide the following solution / answer to your request:
Subject: Certificates (use of and different types)/26708 Answer from PCT-SAFE Help Desk:
Unfortunately, apart from revoking your new certificate and then re-enrolling using Internet Explorer, I do not see many options.
We cannot do support for external software, like Firefox, but I had a quick glance at Mozilla's support side and it seems that you might be able to resolve your problem by starting Firefox in safe mode, and/or disabling all your Firefox extensions. I have to stress the fact that this is not a procedure tested and approved by the PCT-SAFE team.
As this is an extremely time-sensitive issue please also contact me by phone so that we can work through the solution in real-time. I can be reached at 555-555-555 - Sheldon

Just to follow up on my findings. My last issue regarding the digital certificate was not at the time of initial download into Firefox, but my application required that I backup the certificate into a folder which can then be accessed to sign a submission generated by a third-party Client software.
After finally steering away from the digital signing route by opting for a non digital filing of my project, I later revisited the Firefox certificates list only to find that the 'Backup' button still didn't work or respond in any way whatsoever; however since I only had a single certificate on my list... I threw my hand up in the air and tried the 'Backup All' button... guess what - that worked!! My browser then navigated to a file browser which allowed me to save the certificate to a folder of my choice. Of course this was after the fact as my deadline had already passed and and I had the Administrator who initially granted my secure ID revoke it once I was blocked from downloading it by Firefox.
Just an update/FYI for y'all... But I'm not sure if this type of anomoly is due to a glitch on my computer or a glitch on the browser - but it certainly did catch me off-guard during a deadline.

  • Cannot load email on Firefox but can on Internet Explorer. TECH SUPPORT, WHERE ARE OUR ANSWERS?

MY EMAIL DOES NOT LOAD USING FIREFOX BUT IT DOES USING INTERNET EXPLORER.

    Hello Karen.
Try clearing your browsing cache on Firefox: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+clear+the+cache
If that doesn't help, try deleting your email's cookies (no data will be lost): https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Deleting+cookies
If that doesn't help, it's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

  • Can't post pics on forum with firefox but can with Internet explorer

I can't post pictures/images on a certain forum when using firefox but when using Internet explorer on the same forum it works. Any solutions please?

Hi Meghraj, Thank you for your reply! I am afraid a screenshot will not reveal much. When I click on "add file" on the forum to post a pic it opens my files and once I select my file that I want to post and click on "open" it goes back to the forum page but the file is not there. When I do this same action with Internet explorer it works. But I don't really use internet explorer and would like to use firefox rather. A few members on the forum using firefox have the exact same problem. Any ideas? Thank you! :)

  • Can't get msn or hotmail with firefox but can with explorer, always used firefox before-what's up?

started in safe mode but still can not get msn or my hotmail, just comes up with a blank page.Removed all cookies and cache and all add-ons are off. Removed foxfire and reinstalled to no avail. Have done everything all can think of but no way it will work yet if I go to Explorers the damn thing works.Any ideas?????

    Sorry you are having problems.
Both sites work ok for me using Firefox. That comment may not make you feel good but along with the fact that both sites work for you on IE it does tend to point to something rather specific on your computer affecting firefox.
I do notice quite a few questions recently about this. In many cases clearing the cache or just a Ctrl+F5 reload will help, along with clearing the cookies for that site.

Something you should try as an elimination step is booting with the F8 key into Windows Safe Mode with network support

  • Cannot download CoolIris. There am some other sites that I cannot download with Firefox but can with chrome.

    I am using version 3.6 .13
I cannot download from CoolIris. In the past I've been able to mouse over the picture and CoolIris worked immediately. When I did this today it brought me to the CoolIris website and said I needed to download an update. I tried that four times and Firefox did not show the download taking place. This has happened recently with other sites I wanted to download from using Firefox. However, those same sites can be downloaded easily using chrome.

  • Can't open GMail in Firefox but can in I.E. - any suggestions?

HP Laptop running XP SP3 with FF4 default browser.
ZoneAlarm firewall, but problem still occurs when this turned off.
Gmail will not accept my username and/or password in FF but immediate access when switching to IE8.

'''Problems logging in to GMail''', try
    * double-click on user id, to bring up choices, password should then fill in automatically.
    * if no place to fill in password, use the link to say another user-id then try again
    * Try logging in from a Google search, if successful click on GMail at top, if link is not available you probably have been into GMail yet with current profile.
    * Try logging in as a different user, and fill in the same user-id as you wanted in the first place.
If those fail, try removing specific cookies for Google or Google mail
    # Tools > Options > Privacy
    # Show Cookies
    # filter on: mail.google
    # delete individual cookies for gmail, use the down-arrow and "Del" keys
If that fails try removing all Google cookies
    # as above, but filter on: google
    # use Ctrl+A to select all
    # review list, modify selection with Ctrl key, then use "Del" key

  • Installed Pro 9 and Reader 9 now cannot open pdf from web, but can from an email?

Installed Both Adobe Acrobat 9 professional and reader 9 yesterday on co worker machine. Went to open a pdf attachement in email no problem. Went to web to download and open a pdf and will not let her, giving co worker the error message need reader 8 or 9 to open this document!
have unistalled 9 reader and reinstalled same problem.
So then uninstalled reader 9 and can now open pdf from the web
My machine has both on and no problems.
    Thank YOU for your help!!

It may be that you will need to uninstall Reader and Repair Acrobat after the uninstall. Adobe does not recommend the installation of both products. Since you have already done the uninstall and things work fine with just Acrobat, leave things alone as that is the recommended installation.

  • WHY CAN'T I LOGIN TO MANY WEB SITE WITH FIREFOX BUT CAN WITH INTERNET EXLORER 8 AND GOOGLE CHROME

I just installed firefox 3.6.8 on a new computer, it worked fine for a few days but now I cannot login to several sites that require usernames & passwords. (citezens bank online, (chase freedom credit cards online) medco mail order prescripions online. etc. Some of the sites say that I must have java script enabled, but if I go to firefox tools/options/content it shows java script enabled. I can login fine with internet explorer 8 and google chrome. I have firefox 3.6.8 on my old computer that has dial up internet access and it works fine. On the citizens bank web page the words "login" appear in a box, but when I click on it nothing happens & no boxes for usename or password show up. on the medco login page no lotin related words appear. They do with IE8 & google chrome. On chase freedom the login boxes are there but when I enter my password, after a few seconds the password disappears & nothing happens. The other browsers work fine . I believe that on one of the sites there is a message about "scripting being necessary" I cannot find any info about scripting it I do a search for it.

  • I can no longer access WEbkinz and ESPN on my MAC with Firefox but can with Safari

So far the trouble is with those two. I deleted Firefox and re-downloaded but no different.

You might try to see if you can restore your iWork documents from an earlier point in time by using Time Machine.  To do this, Open Finder and navigate to “~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Pages/Documents” (without the quotes) from the Go>Go to Folder menu.  Then launch Time Machine, go back in time until you see your pages documents, then select them, click Restore and exit Time Machine.  Then repeat this from "~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Numbers/Documents" to restore your Number documents.

  • Cannot connect on oracle drivers, but can with datadirect... Why is it?

First, I used 10.2 drivers and got the same error as someone in this forum:
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
ORA-12705: Cannot access NLS data files or invalid environment specified
Of course, ojdbc14.jar, orai18n.jar and ons.jar were in classpath. Then I found in mentioned thread, that 10.1 drivers don't have this trouble. I've downloaded them (funny, but ons.jar was absent) - the program started swaring about absense of ons.jar. Then I added it from 10.2, and got the following:
    oracle.ons.ONSException: oracle.ons.oraclehome not set
         at oracle.ons.ONS.<init>(ONS.java:160)
         at oracle.ons.ONS.getONS(ONS.java:624)
         at oracle.ons.Subscriber.<init>(Subscriber.java:54)
So, the question is: what the hell does this mean? I tried DataDirect drivers, and everything worked fine, but I wanted to use standard ones...
And yes, the DB I use is Oracle Express Beta 2. Maybe, the answer is 42... sorry, "beta 2"?
    :))

    Well, I've solved the problem with 10.1 drivers (the reason was that I called before connection the following method - setFastConnectionFailoverEnabled(true);
I thought it stated for fast reconnection on network failures). But the problem with 10.2 drivers persists. Of course, I can (and will) use 10.1, but the question is - whether the problem mentioned (ORA-00604,ORA-12705) is common for all those who use non-western locales?

  • Can't navigate the Ryanair website with Firefox but can with Internet Explore

My IP is Sky.com. Their website is not displaying correctly because the search box does not move to the left and anything typed into it redicts back to the home page. Also the ryanair website displays but does not allow one to navigate the whole website. None of these errors occur when using Internet Explorer. This problem only occured today.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
