I cannot open NAT in Modern Warfare 2

Hello everyone.
I have for a long time been playing Modern Warfare 2 with the NAT set to STRICT. But recently I have had troubles by playing with friends online so I figured: "Why don't try open my NAT?". I have searched all over the internet for turtorials etc. that tells me how to fix it and I found quite a lot. This is what I have tried to do:
I went into my routers configuration system to do as told in the turtorials. I have enabled the UPnP and I have done the Port Range Forward thing:
Application START END    PROTOCOL IP-ADRESSE   ENABLE
CODMW201 27015   27015 TCP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW202 1500    1500    UDP             192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW203 3005    3005    UDP             192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW204 3101    3101    UDP             192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW205 27000  27050  UDP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW206 28960  28960  UDP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
But nothing works for me. The NAT is still set to STRICT and I keep whining about it. Is there anyone who knows how to fix this problem and if so, please be a sweetheart and help me.
My wireless router is a Linksys WRT54GL.

All you need to do is add/change a few things and it should work:
Application START END    PROTOCOL IP-ADRESSE   ENABLE
CODMW201 27015   27015 TCP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW202 1500    1500    UDP             192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW203 3005    3005    UDP             192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW204 3101    3101    UDP             192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW205 27000  27015  UDP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW206 28960  28960  UDP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW207 27015  27030  UDP              192.169.1.100 (YES)
CODMW208 27014  27050  TCP               192.169.1.100 (YES)
***Note I changed CODMW205 to 27000-27015 UDP. Now Every thing should work. See you in the game.

  • Opening NAT for Modern Warfare 2 on my PC

As I'm sure many of you are doing as well I've been playing Modern Warfare 2 since the night it came out. It is telling me that I have a strict NAT on my router (WRT160n V2). I've searched on the forum and all I can find is information on opening the NAT for the xbox 360. I run mine on my PC and I'm wondering what ports I need to open, and whatever else it would take to make Call of Duty run the absolute best possible. Thanks in advance for any help.

i had this issue for a while. first i dmz'd through my dsl router to my desktop and everything came through fine. it wouldnt allow me to do this with my lap top though. i know that is not a good idea and it was just to check if it would open the nat at all. After some tinkering i had to call my isp and ask them to help me set up the modem so it would just pass all the info to the router. I know that the original poster of this thread has cable but i am posting something in here since it is a similar issue and it might be able to help some one. Once i set my router to PPoE and had the correct ports forwarded my nat opened on the laptop. i also turned the firewall on my router off and left upnp.

  • WRT54GL issues with XBOX 360 Modern Warfare 2 chat (even with Open NAT)

    Hi,
I read some posts about the subject but can't seem to make it work.  I have tried port forwarding, UPnP and DMZ on their own or all at once and the best I could do is to get an "Open NAT" in Modern Warfare allowing me to play online.  However, I can't hear other people talk when playing online.  I can tell they're speaking by watching the speaker icon beside their name in between games but can't hear them...  I can hear people in my private chat or party no problem.
Can you guys help me?  It's hard playing domination without being able to communicate with teammates.

I am having the same problem that was described except I checked my XBox Live setting and it shows that I can chat with everyone (meaning no restrictions). I have check my routers settings (port forwarding, UPnP and DMZ, & Open NAT) just as was described but I still cannot hear any of the players, but they can hear me. I have been searching online for possible solutions and I have tried them all with no success. I have also spoken with XBox tech support on 3 different occassions. Can someone let me know what will work?

  • Xbox Modern Warfare 2

I recently purchased a Linksys WRT320N as gaming router. When i play Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox Live it finds allot less multiplayer games if i'm not connected directly to my modem. The game pings 50 multiplayer games games by default and flags the game room as "good" if the response time is under 100ms.
I have a ADSL 8Mbps down / 1Mbps up internet connection, a Speedtouch 546 DSL modem and a Linksys WRT320N router. NAT type is OPEN according to Modern Warfare 2.
I want to use the following setup:
Modem -> Router -> Xbox 360 all wired.
If i use the setup Modem -> Router -> Xbox 360 all wired the games finds about 1 or 2 per 50 scanned multiplayer games. When i use the setup Modem -> Xbox 360 it finds like 15-25 per 50 scanned multiplayer games.
UPnP is enabled on both my modem and router. I've tried forwarding ports 3074 (udp&tcp), 53 (udp&tcp), 80 (tcp) and 88 (udp) from my modem to my router and from the router to the xbox or just from my modem to my router or router to xbox, creating a DMZ for my xbox on the router, enabling WMM and No Ack on the router and setting priority to the ports on high but it has absolutly no effect at all.
Does anyone had a similar problem which they've managed to solve, or does anyone know how to fix this problem (other then connecting it directly to my modem)? I'd be eternally grateful

some people have this problem and Linksys Router is a very bad choice for MW2! Cisco you dont want to upgreate your FW for fix this problem??? :

  • WRT160N V1 Open Nat on 3 Xbox 360(s) Possible for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2?

    All connected wireless.
Possible?  If so please assist or direct me to a router that would work.
I'm using the Motorolla SB5101 connected to Cable at about 25 Mbps.

So you need to Open NAT on all your 3 XBOX's. Well i don't think its possible, never tried to make the NAT open on 3 XBOX. Yes but 2 XBOX can work with your Router and the NAT will be open on your Router.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter... Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox , IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox, Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...
On you need to Assign a Static IP on your 2nd XBOX. the IP address should be 192.168.1.30, Subnet , Default Gateway, and the DNS should be the same as of your 1st XBOX.
On your Router page, under the Application and Gaming tab  you need to click on the Sub tab "DMZ" and you need to Enable DMZ and input the IP address of your 2nd XBOX and click on Save Settings...
For your 3rd XBOX you can try to Enable Port Triggering and open the same ports : 53 to 3074 and click on Save Settings...
Now you need to restart your all the 3 XBOX's and check if the NAT is Open.

  • Xbox Live Strict Nat Modern Warfare 3

I have just bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 but when I try to play online it keeps saying I have got a Strict NAT.  Been on the phone to Bombay to contact BT Support (F'ing useless).
    I have the ports for the game 80, 53, 3074 (TCP) and 88, 53, 3074 (UDP)
    I have a Home Hub 2.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Austins
Normally when trying to get access to advanced settings having gone to http://192.168.1.254 you will be asked for a password.
This should be on a label on your router (on back or bottom) and should allow you to gain access, if you have changed this perhaps in the past, you can reset it by carrying out a factory reset on your hub.
The router will prompt you to change it to something more personal after your first login.

  • Open Nat for WRT54GSV4

Ok i been tryin to get my NAT set to open for MW2 for abit now but cant seem to figure out what the problem is. Can anyone please help me with opening the NAT for this router for Modern Warfare 2 on the PC, not Xbox or PS3.  Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Honestly ive never had to mess with my routers ports before and honestly dont know exactly how to do it right. I know where to go in the routers settings im just abit foggy on what numbers to put in where. There are 4 boxes across each line 2 for port triggering and 2 for port forwarding, then the option to enable it. Dont mean to sound like an idiot but abit more help would be greatly appreciated Thanks for the help btw greencross

  • How to open NAT in Time Capsule? (for gaming)

    Hi there.
*How do I open NAT on my Time Capsule?*
I've tried to go to +Airport Utility > Time Capsule > Internet+, but there's no NAT tab (like I've seen in different solutions on the internet). I only have one tab called +Internet Connection+. In the bottom of this there's a text saying (forgive me if it's a bit off, I'm translating it to English):
"+Choose whether this Apple-unit shall share a single IP-adress with wireless clients through DHCP and NAT, distribute a selection of static IP-adresses only through DHCP or function as a bridge.+
+Sharing of connection: Off (bridge function)+"
(I think the off-option is selected by default in the dropdown, other options are: Share a public IP-adress and distribute a selection of IP-adresses)
I'm asking this because I'm playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Windows 7, running boot camp on my MBP. My setup is a Time Capsule and Airport Express linked together - the Time Capsule is the main station. The reason why I'm mentioning all of this is to give as much information possible in order to solve the problem.
    Thanks in advance

    Welcome to the discussions!
DHCP and NAT are disabled when the Time Capsule is configured as a "bridge"....Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode).
If you need to enable NAT on the Time Capsule, you must set the Connection Sharing to "Share a public IP address" on the Time Capsule using AirPort Utility.

  • WRT54GSV4 , how can i "open" nat-type

    hey guys,
maybe for u just a simple question,
but how could i open "nat" to play / host

Are you playing Game on the X-Box or on the computer...?
Who is your Internet Service Provider...?
If the ISP is DSL then, you have to convert the Modem into the Bridge mode.

  • E3200 Opening NAT settings for Xbox 360/Live help

Hello everyone, I have just purchased a E3200 today and my nat type is strict on Xbox live, that's what it says when I'm in the lobby in Modern Warfare 3. How do I get a Open NAT type? Any help please? THANKS!

  • Can't get 2 XBOX 360's to open NAT on new E1000

I'm at my wits end and about to take this back. I had a Linksys WRT54GS that worked PERFECTLY with 2 360's, but even after using my old settings, using portforward.com's settings, and trying something I saw someone recommend here for someone having the same problem with an e3000, I simply cannot get both of them to open NAT. Can someone help?

I'm having the same problem also.  I have both Xboxs on static IPs and I put one on port forwarding and the other on DMZ but it doesn't seem to make any differences.  It's getting me frustrated because I've tried everything and it seems to work sometimes so I backup the configurations, but the next day it goes back to strict.
I use to have a WRT54G v8 and it would work flawlessly, but this new E1000 model is giving me many problems.

  • How to get a open NAT type with a linksys E2000 on PS#

I called customer service and they were completely clueless, told me I had to pay for the Tech support to fix it. I have a Linksys E2000 and I cannot get a open nat for my PS3, tried the DMZ, and XBox settings but that obviously didnt work. So anybody have any ideas before I return this $100 router???

I've been having the same problems but on my Xbox.  I'm going to try this:
    On router:
    1 - Status tab
        Get DNS 1 & 2
    On Xbox:
2 - Static IP on Xbox
        IP: 192.168.1.xxx
        Mask: 255.255.255.0
        GW: 192.168.1.1
3 - DNS Addresses on Xbox
    On router:
    4 - Forward ports
        TCP 80
        UDP 88
        Both 53, 3074
    5 - Security tab
        uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests
        disable uPnP?
    6 - Reset devices
I'll let you know how it goes.

  • Open NAT problems with Xbox One .

When I first got my 1900ac I used Media Priortization to get an open NAT for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on my Xbox One ; prioritizing the Xbox . It worked fine for about 6 months until I changed cable/net provider to Nextech in Ks. This company uses the 1900ac to hook up it's system for all it's customers ( since I already had one they're using mine ). Unfortunately I'm unable to get an open NAT in this game anymore ; I've tried just about everything , NAT forwarding , triggering , Media Prioritization . Nextech support & Xbox Live support , useless . Tried Portforward . com , nothing . Forwarding port 53 cuts off net connection & doing the static ip change for Xbox didn't help . Almost everything I've looked at seems out of date & I'm at my wits end . It would seem by now Linksys should have solutions available , any ideas ?

Thank you chin_pamz13 for your response . I tried to check if my modem had a public or private ip address but I'm not sure how to do that ; I've read about double NAT's elsewhere . Regardless , I think I've finally found a solution that seems to be working so far . I went to the website " tech - recipes . com " & found an article , " Xbox One open NAT " by Aaron St. Clair . I tried his first suggestion about port triggering , with extra ports I had'nt seen before . That did not work for me so I followed his instructions for putting the Xbox in the DMZ & it's working ! I think my problems from before were the result of improperly setting up the static ip address for my router & Xbox . Previous instructions had me changing the ip in the console along with the router ; Aaron said not to do so in the Xbox , let the router do the work it's supposed to do & make sure the settings in the console are on automatic . In the router at the DMZ , I was'nt sure how to proceed , but at the bottom is a section labeled DHCP reservations list ; clicked on that , saw XboxOne , clicked on that & it filled out the MAC address above for me . Then I went to the Xbox network settings , advanced settings & clicked " automatic " at ip address , subnet & DNS . I checked mutiplayer connections & did the " hold bumper & trigger buttons " trick & finally got an open NAT ; fired up CoD Advanced Warfare & got the open NAT there also . I may have screwed up when I did the port triggering but since the DMZ fix seems to work I'm going to leave things alone . Hope this helps others with open NAT problems .

  • FTPEx: 425 Cannot open data connection

    Hi,
I am connecting to FTP servers using File Adapter (FTP Protocol). Adapters are running fine. But after couple of hours. When I place a file in FTP folder. Adapter status turns into red and displays below error. I believe this is because of the connection fluctuations between PI and FTPs Server.
Is this the problem from PI or FTPs side? Do we have any SAP note or fix/patch which can take care of this issue? Thanks in Advance.
    Adapter Error Message:-
An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server xyz.com:21. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 425 Cannot open data connection.'. For details, contact your FTP server vendor.

    Hi All,
I have explained the settings suggested here to FTP team. They replied:
         1. The timeout period is currently 120 seconds for control and 30 seconds for data:

  • WRT1900AC Problem With open NAT with multiple Xbox One's

I am starting a new thread for some possible help with this. I have just recently replaced my r7000 with the wrt1900ac router and for the life of me cannot get my 2 xbox ones in the house to have open nat. Only one of them will show open NAT. Anyone get this to work and work 100% of the time? I have reseverved the IP's. I tried port forwarding.. I tried putting one in the dmz. I have tried port triggering. None of it works. One will be open the other stays at moderate. I have got it in strict before as well. I have upnp on. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. Ideas? Also It seems my router reboot on its own and turning the LED's off after a reboot the wireless led's come on. Seems like a bug.

Hewligun, found this on another Linksys thread, it appears that Linkysy may need to update their UPnP and all should be good. Original thread:Packet Dropping thread  Excerpt from thread: Re: WRT1900AC packet dropping[ New ] Options  ‎05-01-2014 06:16 PM  I did some research. Microsoft documents that port forwarding will only work for the one xBox in the forwarding rule. In the same document it mentions that the only way to have two xBoxes running at the same location behind a router is with UPnP. The UPnP protocol has be the newest version in order for it to work. I guess the WRT1900AC is running a later version of UPnP in which case a firmware upgrade will solve this. Keep in mind that Microsoft xBox Live itself is having documented issues as well so we can't really know for sure if the UPnP on the WRT1900 is the newer version or not at this point. Look at the affect services in the current xBox Live status: Affected platforms:Xbox Onexbox one outage;Social and Gaming,Xbox 360xbox 360 outage;Social and Gaming, Affected services:Accessing all game featuresJoining other Xbox Live members in online gamesPosting game performance or viewing the performance of other Xbox Live members https://support.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox-live-status
