I cannot open new tab pages in my browser.

If I click on the little plus nothing happens. If I try the shortkey, nothing happens. But new tabs do open automatically if I click on a link in a website.

That certainly was the problem.I uninstalled ASK toolbar and the problem was solved. Thanks

• Cannot open new tab or addons page

Hi!
After upgrade Firefox from version 26 to 27 or 27.0.1 I have strange issue.
I Cannot open new tab, when I`m clicking on the plus button or CTRL+T key combination blank space is visible between tab and plus button (see attachment).
Also, I can`t open Addons page.
I`ve trying to run Firefox in safe mode, deleting Profile, reseting to default settings, disable hardware acceleration.
None of above helped :(

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

• Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.265 cannot open new tab in Firefox 14

Cannot open new tab after updating adobe flash player to 11.3.300.265 in Firefox 14.01
Reinstall Adobe Flash Player to earlier version 11.2.202.235 and everything work fine with Firefox 14.01

If you keep having problems then try a new profile.
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Hi,
The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
Further information can be found in the [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]] article.

If you would like to take a listing of the add-ons, important preferences/settings etc. to quickly replicate the previous profile, please open '''Troubleshooting Information''' via '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H'''), '''Copy all to clipboard''' and paste it into MS Office Excel, or OpenOffice/LibreOffice Calc, or notepad. However, it would be a good idea to check for the existence of the issue immediately after the reset.

• I cannot open new tab and get rid of the annoying tool bar. Help!

I click on plus sign, it says "open new tab", but it does not open
Also, I want to uninstall the tool bar, but the message says it does not exist.
At first I thought I got a virus, but I uninstalled and re-installed M.Firefax twice already and the issue remains

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
Check with ALL programs.

• Cannot "open new tab" from exsisting tab

i can open a new browser window but when I click "open new tab" symbol nothing happens

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

• Since the latest update, I cannot open new tabs in one of my profiles - I'm using XP SP2

My home page (www.gmx.co.uk) opens with no problem but I am unable to open a new tab from either the "+" beside the open tab or the File menu. Firefox Help does, though, automatically opens with a new tab.
The problem appears to be confined to one profile - infortunately my work profile - where I would normally have 4 or 5 tabs open whilst working. My personal profile (home page www.BBC.co.uk/news) seems unaffected.
For the time being, I am working round the problem by opening a series of 'Help' tabs to give me my workspace.

• Cannot open new tabs or load new sites by typing in URL.

When I click on the "+" button to open a tab (or from the File menu) nothing happens. Also when I try to go to a new web page by typing in the URL, nothing happens. A new web page and tab only opens by clicking on a (Google) search result item. Re-starting Mozilla does not help.
Note: Printing data from Troubleshooting Information below deleted to limit characters to less than 30.000.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
You can use one of these to start Firefox in Safe mode:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox
*Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
