I cannot open, update or uninstall itunes.

I cannot open, update or uninstall iTunes at all, I have tried all the suggestions posted with no luck. I keep getting error messages saying that the installation files do not exist, any suggestions on what to do? I'm really frustrated with it at this point.
These are the error messages I keep getting. Can someone please help me out?

• Why can't I open, update, or uninstall itunes?

I can't open my itunes, I have gone through the support on Apple website, but when I try to uninstall itunes (as it says to do) it gives me an error message. I can't figure it out.
An error occured while trying to create the directory c:\Program Files\iTunes.Resousces\fi.lproj\CDPlaylistPlacard.nib
Then it tells me
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330.

Hello rb phillips,
And welcome to Apple Discussions!
I think you would have much better luck if you posted this question in the iTunes forum. Here is a link to it. Good luck.

• Cannot fully update or uninstall itunes using windows 7 64 bit OS

Please help!!!!

I've tried both of those previously. Sorry I didn't mention that. I've done so many things it's hard to remember. I'm beginning to think that some of the problem lies within the phone. And since I can't even get the computer to be able to read it properly, I can't restore to factory again.
I had a bit of luck with a friends PC and was able to get it to read it, but not sync. So, I may use his iTunes to restore my phone to a factory default. Then attempt to uninstall/reinstall iTunes on my Laptop again to see if it works.
(Also for the copy/paste files, the latest iTunes from the site remedied the issue where the files were in the wrong location, so that was already completed).
The link to the support page is virtually useless though. I'd done everything that page asked before even seeing it. Thanks for trying though. I'll repost after I restore and then uninstall/reinstall again.

Now I get a message that said " The file iTunes Libary.itl" cannot be read becouse it was created by a newer version of iTunes.I did everything it said to do inarticle HT1923 Removing and reinstalling iTunes, Quick Time, and other sofware components for Windows Vista or Windows 7. Now what?

Unless you've recently attempted to downgrade iTunes this is probably a sign of a corrupt library file. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.

• July 18,2011 AOL toolbar update install. I cannot open Firefox to uninstall the update or the toolbar because everytime I open Firefox it freezes and jams up. I have to shut down my computer as it will not even respond to force quit command

July 18,2011 AOL toolbar update install. I cannot open Firefox to uninstall the update or the toolbar because everytime I open Firefox it freezes and jams up. I have to shut down my computer as it will not even respond to force quit command. I cannot read my mail (aol) or access my bookmarks all for work.

Try the Firefox SafeMode.
''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.''
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
# You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
# Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
You should be able to uninstall that AOL toolbar extension while running in the Firefox SafeMode.

I read the responses about downloading the windows installer cleanup utility, but that is no longer available on microsoft's website.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

• Cannot update or uninstall iTunes due to missing iTunes.msi file

I am trying to update my itunes 10.4.1.10 to the newest version. However, when I try to update or manually uninstall iTunes I get the following error message. I am logged into the admin account and on a wireless network. I've looked for the iTunes.msi folder in my iTunes folders and program folders but cannot find it. Also using Windows Installer CleanUp Utility is no longer an available option since Microsoft is saying that it damages files as well as fix them. Any ideas on what to do???

Nonetheless, it's the best game in town for this particular kind of trouble. So, just in case, I'll run you through my standard instructions for an itunes.msi variant (just in case).

• I cannot update or uninstall iTunes with Windows XP.

I have an older OS (windows XP) and have been trying to update iTunes. I keep getting a message saying that Bonjour is on another network that I do not have access to. It then tells me that iTunes.msi is not available either. Now I am not able to sync my iPod.
I have tried to uninstall iTunes to fix the problem, but I cannot do that either. I get the same message about this missing Bonjour. I would really like to update, or at the very least get rid of this version to get the newer iTunes.
If anyone can help me figure out this problem, I would appreciate it more than I can say.
Thank you in advance (especially if there is some simple solution that I have either not seen or tried )

• I cannot open or re-install itunes!

Help i cannot open my itunes/

Hey markymark49,
When you attempted to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, did you use this article?
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
If you haven't already done these steps, this section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

All the best,

• Cannot either install or uninstall iTunes

I tried to update iTunes with v12.1.2 on my Win 8 64-bit computer by running the installation file over the current v12.0 and the installation failed. This is what occurred:
1. The initial error I received was that it did not have access to the "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes folder. It then took about 10 minutes to do a "roll back".
2. I then tried to uninstall the current iTunes and I received an error 2324.
3. I then uninstalled all the Apple auxiliary programs (Update Service, Bonjour, etc.) and removed all the Apple associated folders.
4. Ran the install again, failed again.
5. I took a restore point before trying the initial install, so I restored the system to that.
6. Tried the uninstall again, received an error that I was missing files and had to reinstall iTunes.
CATCH 22. Cannot install or uninstall iTunes. I have not been able to do a clean update of that program for a good year. I should have known better and gone through the total uninstall/removal process first before trying the install. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JohnD

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

• HT2311 I cannot open the download for iTunes, it seems to be frozen. I get that small screen with the read first and the installer and it doesn't respond to my clicking

trying to download and install iTunes 11 and though it downloads I cannot open it, seems to be frozen, thoughts?

Many thanks diesel. I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates. Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it. Eileen

• Can't update or uninstall itunes

I tried to update my itunes to back up my iphone. I get error messages "windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or if the windows installer is not correctly installed". I've tried uninstalling itunes and am unable to do that also. I have been searching for a fix. I've tried most of the things I've seen regarding this error message and nothing has worked. Please help!

Is this on a 64-bit system? If so, try the following user tip:
