  • I have just downloaded firefox onto my laptop but it wont open. I keep getting a message that says: 'The connection has timed out' Can you help

This is the message i get after a few seconds of trying to connect:
    The connection has timed out.
The server at search.bearshare.com is taking too long to respond.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Is this when you install the EXE, or when you are running Firefox, or some other time?

  • I cannot log in to Weight Watchers Website - message is the connection has timed out. This is the ONLY website this happens with.

I have spoken with Norton Antivirus and it is not a software issue with them. I have run a full scan for malware and viruses, have cleared history. If the "connection has timed out", is there a way to re-set the time limit before timing out?

    I also have this problem.
It's not worked since this time last week, absolutely fine before that and i've been a member since June.
I emailed Weight Watchers Tech Support and they say that there is no problem with their website, told me to clear out my cookies (no instructions given for Firefox) and try again... still no luck.
    I've emailed them again.
I am having trouble connecting to their IPod App too, not just at home but at work aswell.
Paying for this service and not getting it, making it very difficult to track and make recipes!

  • I can't connect to livejournal. It keeps saying that the connection has timed out. It has been almost a full day since this happened. I tried loading livejournal on Explorer, but that didn't work either

When I try connecting to livejournal, it tries for a while, then I get an error page saying that the connection has timed out. What's odd is that usually livejournal gives us a warning when the site will be temporarily offline. When I try connecting to livejournal through Explorer, the same thing happens. I've been hitting the try again button for almost a full day. Again, livejournal doesn't normally go offline this long.

Nevermind, it's working again. Huh. I posted this, then tried livejournal again and it worked. I'm glad it is, but hey! *iz suspicous*

  • I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection

I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

  • Surfing the web I constantly get a dialog box popping up that says "The connection was rest" or " Server not found" or "The connection has timed out"

Surfing the web I constantly get a dialog box popping up that says "The connection was rest" or " Server not found" or "The connection has timed out". The panel gives me three possible causes, none of which are correct and tells me to "Try again". Sometimes when I try again the site appears, sometimes it does after several tries and sometimes it never does. I called my IP, Cox and they told me it is a result of something Microsoft put out in their updates to IE (presumably to discourage people from using Firefox). Can you help me get rid of this problem?

  • I have an itunes acct. on my PC, but itunes doesn't allow me on using that acct. info.  When I try to set up a new id on my ipad it says the session has timed out.

I have an itunes account on my PC and have downloaded Kindle and iBook with no problem, but when I try and use that acct id on my iPad the system says I cannot access the store.  However, when I try to create a new id the system comes up and tells me that I am from Canada, which is always nice to know in case I ever forget, and when I acknowledge that screen, it immediately tells me the session has timed out.  What am I doing wrong?  Willingly admit I am not at all knowledgable in the Apple world.  Thanks for any help you can give..

When I've had a similar problem, it was because I was accessing the iTunes store from a device I hadn't used before, such as when I upgraded from an iPad 1 to the iPad 2.  It was a little confusing to me until I figured it out.
All I had to do was use the ID of my existing account and play along with the iTunes store.  As I recall, it asked for my password twice, and the security code from the back of my credit card.  After that, downloads proceeded as before.

  • Unable to open LUFTHANSA website, "the connection has timed out"

I booked a flight on Lufthansa 1 month ago, everything worked fine. Have been trying to print my boarding pass, unable to get on their web site.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

You can try to reset (power off/on) the router.
Another possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

    Hello,
For Web/Business edition database, the maximum limit of concurrent requests is 180. Beyond this limit, you will receive error.
The Max woker threads for Standard(S2) is 100, you should upgrade your database to Permium tier.
The concurrent requests limit of premium database varies depending on the reservation size of a premium database. For example, for P1, the max worker threads is 200.

  • I cannot search in firefox. I try to search with google and yahoo. The page never loads and I get "Problem Loading Page", "The Connection Has Timed Out". Can anyone please HELP??????!!!!!!!!!

I cannot search for ANYTHING, I cannot click on items listed in the yahoo search page (the top ten trending search items) the page just won't load!

Since I looked everywhere for this answer and never found it I decided I needed to help!
    1. GO TO THE TOOL BAR WHERE IT SAYS SAFARI AND CLICK TO BRING DOWN THE MENU OF OPTIONS, CLICK ON PREFERENCES
2.INSTEAD OF JUST CLICKING ON THE GENERAL TAB AND CHANGING THE SEARCH ENGINE LIKE EVERY OTHER STUPID SUPPORT TELLS YOU TO DO LOOK AT THE TAB THAT SAYS EXTENSIONS.
    3. Chances are you downloaded something that was made by a third party to "enhance" your web experience but really they just screwed you over, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SIMPLY UNINSTALL ANY EXTENSIONS PUT ON YOUR COMPUTER BY CLICKING INSTALL, BUT TO BE SURE THAT THIS IS THE ROOT OF YOUR PROBLEM IN THE SECOND COLUMN SIMPLY CLICK ON THE UNDERLINED NAME OF WHO THE EXTENSION IS MADE BY IF CLICKING THE LINK BRINGS UP A YAHOO PAGE THIS IS THE SOURCE OF YOUR ISSUES AND SIMPLY UNINSTALLING THIS WILL RID YOU OF THIS  DUMB PROBLEM!!
    HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!

  • I'm getting "The connection has timed out" when I try to connect to one specific website. I can connect to the site using Internet Explorer. Help?

As suggested by Firefox, I cleared my history and cache. I also downloaded and ran one of the Firefox recommended malware applications. I also removed Firefox from my firewall and then added it back as suggested by Firefox. I have no problem accessing the site using Internet Explorer.

Thanks jscher2000. Yes, in Safe Mode I was able to go the site. I read the possible ways that Firefox suggests to try to fix the problem, i.e., go through all my extensions to find the problem or reset Firefox to the original factory settings. Where do you suggest I go from here?

  • I cannot do the initial first time sync of match, it tells me my network connection has timed out but is doing it on work and home networks as well different laptops (PC HP Laptop), any ideas at all guys!!!!

It gets as far as most of the initial step one but then showing awaiting a responce from Apple it stops saying that the connection has timed out.

I saw in one thread around here that some folks with a particular brand of firewall or anti-virus installed actually had to uninstall it to get it to work. Unfortunately I can't find the thread again. What brand of firewall and/or anti-virus are you running?
Ah ha! Just thought of it... NOD32. If you're got this software installed you may need to completely uninstall it.
