I cannot place components or measuring instruments

Hello,
I installed NI Circuit Design Suite (Student Edition) approximately a month ago as my course requires it for hand-in assignments. Two days ago it stopped allowing me to edit or place components or measuring intruments. When I installed it originally, I made sure to activate it as the professor had mentioned others had forgotten in the past. My NI License Manager also verifies this, saying that it is activated for my computer, so I have no idea what the problem could be. I have an assignment due on Tuesday, so help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much and happy thanksgiving!

Before doing a re-install try checking the Global and Circuit restictions tabs to see if maybe some of the options there have been activated. This may cause this problem if they have been turned on. I can not verify this on my version since I don't have these options in Power Pro.
Doing a re-install from the CD usually doesl not work as that only removes the core files. It leaves other files behind and information behind. So if something other than the core files are causing this it will still be there afterwards.
Try doing this instead. Goto C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\NIUninstaller and find the program call "uninst" Open it. A dialog box will appear with a list of programs on the left side. Select the program you want i.e. Circuit Design Suite 10.1 Pro to highlight it and then on the right side click repair. Make sure your CD is in the drive proir to clicking repair. This should re-install everything back, hopefully, to the way it was when it was first installed. It is still safe and won't remiove any saved circuit files. I use it as a last resort, but it seems your there already. I have had success in doing this to correct strange problems that seem to crop up out of nowhere.

My Photoshop CS 5 has some strange actions when I copy a portion of a photo using the clone stamp to transfer to another part of the image. It carries the entire layer (not just the stamps selection) across the screen and I cannot place it where I need to. It appears as if I selected the entire layer on purpose (which I did not)
The below items appeared when I opened Photoshop CS 5:
“Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver and has temporarily disabled G & U enhancements. Check the video card malfunctions website for latest software. GPU enhancements can be enabled in the performance panel of preferences.”
(I believe this started after the automatically updated Windows was applied. It was coincident with the before mentioned problem . . . but I don’t really know if it had anything to do with it. )

For the Clone Stamp problem, check the Clone Source panel and Clipped is probably unchecked.
If so, check Clipped and see if that makes a difference.
(Window>Clone Source)
As to the video card problem:
Which version of windows are you using?
What is the make and model of your graphics card?
Do you know which update windows installed?

Cannot place photoshop PSD file

When I try to place a PSD file into Muse I get the following message:
Cannot place file named 'logo.psd'.
Image was saved with Compatibility Mode turned off. Try re-saving in Photoshop with Compatibility Mode enabled before importing.
I'm using a fresh install of Photoshop CS5 with latest updates. When I save my file I get the compatibility mode confirmation box and the option is checked to enable compatibility mode. This happens in 32 and 64 bit versions. If I create a new image and save it I seem to be able to place it in Muse, the problem seems to only be with PSD files originally created on another computer.

Not sure how to fix this exact issue, but as a workaround you could always:
Open the .psd in Photoshop
Save as another file type (i.e .png)
Within Muse, File, place the .png
Should give the same result unless I'm missing something, hope this helps

I cannot place a title in iMovie11

I cannot place any titles in iMovie11 on a separate background in between two fragments. I only can drag a title on top of a fragment.

I solved the problem today. Aside form not being able to place a photo, I lost my projects when quitting iMovie. So I removed the folder iMovie Projects an by starting up iMovie a new folder was made and that solved both problems. But thanks anyway!

Cannot place sub-vi on diagram

I recently changed my monitor from a 24" flat screen TV to a 19" traditional flat panel LCD PL1910M, now I cannot place any sub vi's on the block diagram, whether they are things I wrote or from the examples directory. I select it and then nothing happens when normally it would appear and you could place it where you wanted. My system has worked for years without issue, this is a real problem! Anyone have advice please chime in.

OK, that's a much more specific problem than originally described where you said: "... now I cannot place any sub vi's on the block diagram". So it is specific to llbs. Can you open the sub VI by double-clicking it in the llb and then drag it's icon to the original VI?
Are the VIs in the llb a similar LabVIEW version?
(I would still try to temporarily disable the antivirus and see if it makes a difference. ***** updates occur often, could be an interference with a new signature)

Cannot place a two-channel spot color image in ID CS2

I have a psd file that consists of two pantone spot channels. When I try to place it in indesign, it says
"Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation."
Why is this, is there any help? I have to find a way around it, I need to make a publication using only black and a shade of pantone green.
I'm on Indesign CS2, Photoshop is CS4 and I'm on Mac OSX.

PSD. I don't have much other choice in photoshop, it offers only psd formats once the file is in multichannel mode. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in photoshop?
Basically I have a photo which is originally in 4 channel CMYK. But I need to convert it two tones only, black and pantone 363 M (or some similar green). What I did was that I deleted the C and M channel and turned Y into pantone. By doing so the image automatically switched from CMYK to Multichannel mode and wouldn't let me choose any other. I don't know if that's the right way to do it?

In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
Then quit and restart iPhoto.

I can get into a website but cannot place orders on websites

Excel 2010 bug -- cannot place controls on chart properly after changing paper size

I have encountered unexpected behavior in Excel 2010 when placing controls on a chart that is a separate sheet. The issue is that the controls (e.g. spinner, scroll bar, etc.) cannot be placed or moved to the right side or the bottom.
Steps to reproduce:
1) create a chart as a separate sheet
2) change the paper size to, for example, A6 (4.13" x 5.83")
3) change paper size back to Letter (8.5" x 11")
4) controls cannot be placed on right side or bottom of chart.
It appears that instead of using the current dimensions of the chart paper size to determine where controls may be placed, the smallest dimensions that have ever been applied to the chart are used.
I am looking for a workaround for this issue since I would like to use a paper size large than 8.5" x 11", but I cannot place controls on such a chart properly at this time.
Any ideas?

I have found a workaround for this issue:
1) change paper size in your default printer's preferences to the paper size you want in Excel.
2) afterwards insert or create the chart. It is automatically the correct paper size, and controls can be placed or moved properly.
3) change default printer paper size back.
In case your chart has already been created, simply copy the existing chart in step 2 instead of inserting/creating.

as the PRT Equipment will allow you to do the Maintenance activities on them.

When I try to place a .mov (Apple QT) in In Design, I get the error:
"Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation"
I am using In Design version 3.01.838 (newest available update)
The Apple QT player is version 7.
The QT clip was made using Camtasia 4.02, the codecs were "MPEG-4" video and "Aplle Lossless" set to 44100-stereo
I am able to place .avi videos, and other graphics, but not QT videos. All the videos are short clips.
Any suggestions?

I have vague memories of seeing this discussed in the past, probably on the Mac side, and I think the issue was which version of QuickTime was Installed, but I wouldn't swear to it, or even that a solution was offered. Searching the ID forums on both sides for QuickTime might pull something up.

The only way to use Forms Central would be to export it the method that gives you the embed code (can't remember what the actual term is off hand) and then use Object--->Insert HTML and past your code in.

I cannot place or drag and drop AI files in Muse CC...

Hello,
I cannot place AI files into Muse CC, I have tried saving my AI files in different versions with no succes.
I also cannot drag AI files from the desktop into Muse CC.
JPGs, PNGs, etc. work as they should.
I have also tried AI EPS and PDF files with no luck.
Please help.

From what I understand Muse CC is supposed to convert vector files to work inside web browsers.
I had Muse on a PC a while back, and that fuction worked flawless. But now on my Mac it's not working.
It saves alot of time not having to convert files, especialy if the program is supposed to do that for you.
