When I select the song to play, iTunes automatically goes to the next song. It will not play in a play list either.

Should i delete the song and download it again?
Yes ... if just one song on an album is doing that, it usually means you've got a damaged file on your hands.

Please help, having problem with Library, had compter crash, got fixed but now cannot play most songs as it has been marked as cannot find file and has astrick in front, most songs were puchased from Itunes, cannot seem to get support from Apple, does anyone have fix, as there is 300 songs not playable, please help,

The "missing file" thing happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. I can provide a step by step guide if you give me the two paths.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.

Have you moved or deleted those tracks on your computer (the gift card has got nothing to do with it) ?
You might be able to re-download them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes (re-downloading isn't possible in all countries) - if those songs appear there then delete the entries from your iTunes library (where you are clicking on them to play them and gettinf the 'original file' error), and they should then get a cloud symbol against them for re-downloading.
If they don't appear in that link then have you got them on, for example, an external drive ?

Need help playing a song previously purchased in 2006

I cannot play a song that I purchased in 2006. On a new computer, it doesn't even show up inthe purchased option. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

1. Open iTunes
2. Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
3. Choose File > Get Info.
4. Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
Now that we know what account purchased this item, try logging into the iTunes Store with that account. If successful, proceed to your purchased page to download the song again (you'll have to delete the original before downloading again, but make sure it is in the purchase history first).

In one of the help pages for managing your Apple ID (http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40), it shows two separate sections, one for Apple ID and one for Primary Email address. When I go to manage my Apple ID, I see only a single section for both. Can the two be 'separated', especially when you face the situation of having to discontinue your email address for some reason?
I also noticed that when navigating to Apple ID Support Communities, it shows my nickname 'dishdy'. How and when did I insert this? In the current sequence for creating an Apple ID I don't see this. In my current profile I don't see this.
In any case, I have freed myself from my previous Apple ID (@artemis.it) on my iPhone.

Account is a user neame and password with which you purchase content.
A library is your collection of media.

I just was prompted to do an itunes update. I did this (now I wish that I had not) and I cannot play any of my songs on itunes. Cannot play itunes (songs) from MP3. Songs downloaded, but are missing.

I downloaded several songs from itunes and to loaded them onto my player (RCA Lyra), but the songs are missing in the player. To transfer the songs, I copied and pasted them onto the player >computer>then highlighted the songs and copied and pasted them to the MP3 player; when I tried to play them, they were missing. What is wrong? How can I download and play the songs I have purchased?

If you selected the songs in iTunes and tried to copy/paste that will not work.
Drag the songs from the iTunes window to the player.

My computer is authorized, but will not play a song I just purchased. It says this computer need to be authorized. So, I type in my user name and ID, and it replies this computer is already authorized.

Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

Itunes cannot play certain songs and will not add them to the library

i have music files on both a hard drive connected to a router plus i have placed the specific files onto my mac to try to fix this issue to no avail. while songbird, vox, and several other players will easily load correctly and do exactly what i want, itunes will not play these songs, will skip over them when i try to add to the library and will not play the file if i drag and drop, try to load it through the "file, add to library" method. the files are .ogg, .m4a, .mp3, .m4p, and they just will not show up. Any media players out there that will recognize an ipod so i can load these files up and get away from my mac for a while?
