I cannot play java based games in my browser, they get blocked no matter what I do with my settings.

I have followed instructions in all the other threads and nothing has worked. I tried safe mode and that did not work either, I went into the page permissions and activated everything for that page and still no luck.

You may have to open the Java Control Panel as Administrator if you do not see the exception settings in the Security tab as a normal user.

  • On my Mac, I cannot play Java based games on Firefox

I have both updated Firefox and the OS. When I try to play Java based browser games on Firefox, only a blank screen appears. These games do work in Safari and Chrome however.

    Hi,
thanks for trying. I have tried it in safemode but it still does not work. Also, I tried installing the beta version and it also did not work. However, in the beta version of firefox, the game I tried to play said that it did not appear that I had Java installed. I am sure I do because I have done the software update and the games work in other browsers.

  • Can I install Windows 8 (DEMO) on a MAC and play windows based games ?

Can I install Windows 8 (DEMO) on a MAC and play windows based games ?

I installed the Developer beta with Bootcamp Assistant yesterday and was very impressed with the ease of the installation. Unfortunately, and I don't know if this is a problem with my video BIOS on my Macbook Air, but Windows 8 installs with two screens split horizontally - so it's effectively useless.
I tried 3 times and gave up. The same thing happens with Linux distributions, however with Linux I can pass "nomodeset" on the kernel command line which fixes it. I don't know how to do that in Windows.
This was happening with both 64x and 32-bit Win8 fwiw.
Oh, also...when I was trying to play around with Bootcamp.exe inside Windows 8, I remember a message popping up saying Bootcamp is only configurable with Windows 7 ISOs. But aside from the kernel graphics issues and some driver compatibility problems, Bootcamp loaded the Win8 ISOs fine.

  • Playing flash based games on the ipad2?

My daughter plays Moshi monsters on our mac book, I believe this is a flash based game, will she be able to play it on an ipad?Playi

People are too quick to comment about Flash.  If your daughter plays Moshi Monsters Mouthoff, it is indeed available in the App Store for $.99 as a download.  It will certainly play on an iPad, though it was not optimized for it.  It will occupy less space on the screen, but you can simply use the 2X button on the bottom right hand corner to enlarge it to fill the full screen.

Hello, how I can use java script games, such a chess

Go here: http://htmlchess.sourceforge.net/demo/example.html or http://valil.com/chess/chess_include.html on your iPad.

  • Cannot open Java-based webpage w/Mac Mini's Safari

Newbie here, in the forum and also within the MAC environment.
    I own a 1 TB Mac Mini.
I have been trying to open my bank's webpage which is Java based. When opening, it never finish loading the webpage. Instead, it just stays white and shows the secured webpage address but stops loading.
What I have researched at this point is that :
    (1) Java in my Mac Mini could be out of date (FIXED: I have the latest installed as of today, version 8, update 31). I closed all, restarted and still not opening this specific webpage. I contacted my bank and they told me to update, which I did.
am I missing SYSTEM CONFIGURATION or something related to SAFARI's CONFIGURATION or SECURITY-RELATED ISSUE?? any help would be appreciated.
    Great support community,
    Regards
    Max

I do not know how to Edit my last question, sorry.
    more info on my problem:
    (2) by adding few webpage address to the Exception Site List,  I noted when logging to my bank's webpage the following messages (please see attached pics). Cleary the Java Configuration need to be changed, IMHO.
"Application Blocked by Deployment Rule" -->Java application Blocked. Application blocked because  must meet the requirements for the High or Very Highsecuritt settings, or be part of Exception Site List to be allowed to run.
The application was blocked even dough the host site of the html file at http:// XXXXXXXXXXXXXX is included in the Exception Site list because application refers to multiple domains.
Reason: The JAR file at https: xxxxxxxxxxx is at different domain and is not also included on the exception site list.
Any comment will be appreciated. Still researching. tis

  • I am trying to load and run a game called asheron's call and keep getting blocked from doing what i want to do. what can i do to fix it so mi can get to play the game

i get game downloaded and icon on desktop the company has to send an e-mail so i can connect to a link for the game and it keeps getting blocked might be the firewall or cookies block not sure how ever i can't play the game and getting very mad how can this be fixed

I get an error message saying that this app can't run on my pc and that I need to find a version that will work through my administrator.
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • How do I get the absolute best performance out of my MacBook Pro while playing Minecraft/Java Based Games?

I pretty much want to know how to boost my laptop performance for the lowest price. Is there much to do after upgrading to 8 gigs of RAM and a Samsung SSD? Also is there anyway to upgrade a MacBook Pro early 2011 2.0 GHz i7 Graphics card?

you run into the limits of XP and built in graphics.
I would hope that you found in all these years how to install and get new moddified gpu drivers.
XP is limited and is 32-bit where each app gets 2GB address space also.
Windows 7 64-bit (or 8 even free for now to test out) otherwise wait to buy a new Mac.

  • Playing PPC-based game on Intel

i thought rosetta would take care of this on it's own.
i'm trying to play the game Doom II on my macbook, but it won't work. the CD shows up on the desktop, but when i click on either the 'play game from CD' or 'installer' it says that 'You cannot open the application "DOOM II" because it is not supported on this system."
now, this game worked just fine on my powerbook pismo G3 that had OSX 10.1.3, so i have no idea why Rosetta isn't taking over and allowing it to boot.
when i 'get info' on the CD or installer, it doen't give me any kind of option as to how it should be opened.....
    any help would be great,
    thanks

If in you in fact mean Doom II, and not Doom III, then it won't run on the system because Doom 2 is classic game, meaning it requires OS 9 to run. This is not supported on any of the intel macs. A quick search revealed that there is a program called Doom Legacy that supposedly will allow you to play Doom and Doom II in OS X, although since it was someone's pet project, the stability of it can't be guarenteed. You can find Doom Legacy at the link below and try it out if you want, but I've never used it, so I know nothing about it.

  • Cannot play some facebook games on my ipad2

I get an error message stating "application has not configured it's mobile URL. Unable to redirect". Are there some games that just cannot be played on the IPAD2?

Flash is not supported on the iPad.
The official Facebook app says (I haven't tried it so I don't know whether it works on all the games nor how well it works) :
Play games on the go: Access your favorite Facebook apps and games, wherever you are
Also some of the games have their own app versions in the store

  • I cannot play my Pogo games after Firefox updated this morning

  • Cannot play Att Voicemail from within Safari browser

I use Att Voicemail (callvantage service). When listening to voicemail the blue quicktime icon comes up and then the white questionmark appears. I've reinstalled quicktime, tried flip, tried windows player, etc. Nothing works. However I can play the wav file if I first download it to my desktop. Thoughts?

QuickTime System Preferences / Advanced tab
click the MIME Settings button and place a check mark next to the file type used in your audio file.
Quit and relaunch your browser and try the file again.
If they are attachments to email you may be forced to first download them to your computer. The Apple Mail app may be able to play them in the body of the message.

  • HT201401 Why is it that all the sound comes out of the right speaker when playing music? The left speaker seems to be blocked or damaged what do i do to be certain that there may be a problem?

I have just noticed whilst playing music on my iphone4 that the sound doesn't  play on the left side, as if it has broken..not sure whats going on. I have tried different songs ..changed EQ but i think think is internal. This has happened recently as i noticed the change in sound straight away.

So why is it that my friend who is directly in front of me with iphone 4 and both speaker holes sound... Yet another friend next to me has same problem as me? We are covering one finger over one side and comparing. Left no sound.
