My Itunes is stored on a Nas drive. I cannot ply my playlists on my sonos music system. All other music fine.

This got me curious when I first saw it... It does indeed seem very Un-Apple-like (at least historically) to prevent a user from customizing their own device - Mac or iDevice - but today I'm unsure. I cannot grasp how a UX designer could leave a simple "OFF" switch out of the control panel. Another thing that Music Data Streaming does is eat up your Data Plan.
This May not be the exact issue as you describe, but seems to solve an issue of a Radio Playlist in iTunes resuming where it left off from the last use...

Play last song on list, songs will then stop. Works for me on iPad. Haven't tried yet on iPhone.

I cannot play most of the music in my iTunes as of today. I have over 14,000 songs. Almost ALL of them have exclamation points next to them and when I try to play them, a window saying error type 9044 appears and tells me the files cannot be located.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

Cannot play to stereo through airport express - unit flashes amber

I cannot play to my stereo through the airport express. I already have a wireless network set up which works fine (cable modem to wireless linksys router. Wireless to desktop which has linksys antenna).
I have plugged in the airport express near the stereo (only 10 ft. from PC) and connected it to the receiver. The "Airport Admin Utility" is also installed. After no drop down menu shows in iTunes (latest version is installed), I performed a hard reset on the AE.
The Admin Utility has been uninstalled and re-installed and the modem has also been reset (unplugging, waiting a few seconds, then plugging in again).
HELP!!!!!!!!!

Let's double-check your AirPort Express Base Station (AX)'s settings:
To set up AirTunes on the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, use the AirPort Admin Utility to check these settings:
AirPort tab
- Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- Wireless Mode: Join an Existing Wireless Network (Wireless Client)
- Wireless Network: <select the existing wireless network>
Music tab
- Enable AirTunes on this base station (checked)
- Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port (optional)
- iTunes Speaker Name: <whatever you wish>
- iTunes Speaker Password (optional)
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
- Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

IPhone cannot play music on computer when docked with iTunes

Hey all,
This is really troubling. I cannot play music on my iPhone through my computer in Windows via my iTunes.
My home iTunes computer is MacOSX on the same computer. All of my work programs are in Windows Bootcamp. So in Windows mode, the songs appear to be gray, and cannot be clicked on (in iTunes and only on the iPhone). They are certainly locked. If I click on 'Manage Music Manually', a popup shows up asking me if I want to erase the iPhone and sync with the Windows itunes, which would be grim as all my music, videos, and everything is in MacOSX.
I have been to the MacStore about this and they couldnt figure this out either. They think it might be a faulty phone.
Has anyone heard of this and might know of a fix?

Please help. I am trying to use my Apple TV to play movies with the sound instead of going through the TV through a speaker system. The only Input for the speaker is a Female Auxiliary. I do not have an Auxiliary Output with my TV. Is it possible to run the audio through my AirTunes Express Auxiliary? That is how I play music through my computer into the speakers. The Apple TV outputs a digital signal over an optical cable, you would need to convert this to an analog signal for your sound system. You can do this with a DAC (Example Only -Not a recommendation or suggestion that this is suitable in your circumstances).

HT1751 I had my library and playlists on an external hard drive. Now, I cannot get the playlists to come up in ITunes on my new computer. I recall doing something in properties but dk next step. Suggestions? Thanks

I have a new computer. My old Mac had my playlist synced to an external hard drive. (I have an IPod Classic) The playlists will not come up in ITunes now. My iPod touch playlists only show up on iTunes under devices and not on the iTouch itself. On iTunes, I cannot play my songs from the iTouch on iTunes. Any ideas?

Suddenly in the last 10 days, my iPod Touch playlists don't show up on the iPod unless plugged into iTunes and only under the device section of iTunes. When I try to play a song on my iPod a different song from the library comes up and plays. Lastly, when I try to play the songs in the iPod library on iTunes when plugged into the computer, an exclamation mark appears to the left of the song title and will not play. Any ideas?

Air Play Symbol Disappeared and cannot play Zeppelin Air through Itunes

Christmas 2012 we bought the Zeppelin Air Speaker, we had Itunes on the laptop and was able to play music through Air Play icon. Unfortunately the laptop broke, so I have had to use our other laptop, it has the up to date version of Itunes, the speaker comes up on the laptop as connected but the airplay icon is no longer on Itunes, can anyone help as not too sure what to do. Thank you.

I have resolved this now with updating my speaker and restarting itunes and the speaker and it now all works.

Cannot play wav files through Quicktime 7.6.6 embedded object

We are playing voice messages on the web page using QuickTime player .
We have embedded QuickTime object in the web page to play the messages
We are facing an issue with playing of voice messages with the latest QuickTime version 7.6.6. These messages are playing in the previous versions of the QuickTime.
We tried to update the classid for the latest QuickTime version while embedding the object but we are not able to hear the messages, also we are not getting any error or exceptions.
We are able to hear the messages after downloading it locally using the new QuickTime version.

Playing ipod nano through home sound system

I want to play my ipod (nano) through my panasonic dvd player + sound system. Ive tried heaps of leads into every plug socket in the dvd player, but no tunes!
What type of lead do i need?
Where do i plug it into in the player??
Do i just press play to start playing?

Just to expand on what Chris said.
The phono inputs of a stereo amp are designed to accept the inputs of a moving magnet (or sometimes a moving coil) phono cartridge on a turntable. These are low output devices and so the phono input is engineered to amplify the signal.
A line level output such as the iPod doesn't need such amplification and so, if you connect the iPod to the phono input of your stereo you will overload that input. The sound will be distorted and in many instances may cause damage to the speakers. The phono input is for turntables only. Connect the iPod to a line level input as previously mentioned.
The reason you will get a better sound from the iPod when connected to a stereo and using the line out port from the dock (and not the headphone jack on the iPod itself), is that the headhpone socket is powered by a low quality amp. It's meant to drive an easy load like headphones and not the input of a stereo.

Playing iPod Mini through Home Theater system

Hi all,
I have a Sony Home Theater system. It plays CDs, DVDs, AM/FM, and video from the TV. I bought a Monster cable to hook up my iPod Mini to the player (it has 2 jacks, a red and a blue one that goes to the player), hooked it up per the instructions (put the same color plug in the same color jack on the player), but no sound comes out. The menu options on the player are DVD, Video (which comes from the TV), FM and AM. I don't know how to program the player to make it play from the iPod, and as you can probably tell, I'm a girl and extremely technically challenged. I don't even know where to begin. Can someone offer some guidance, please? Thanks in advance!

There should be an auxiliary input on the Sony.

I found a workaround that puts podcasts back in the video app as well as the music app so you can watch them on TV via an AV cable again.

In short:
1. Make sure both the music and podcast app aren't running on your iPhone.
2. Plug your iPhone into your computer and disable Podcast syncing for your iPhone in iTunes.
3. Remove the podcast app from your iPhone
4. Plug your iPhone into your computer again and turn on podcast syncing, then sync.
5. Turn off and then back on your iPhone.
After I did this, I found podcasts had returned to being listed in my music and video apps.
