I cannot play privately made cds on itunes. no trouble with commercial cds

on my other mac i do not have this problem
i also cannot convert to aac.
the cd will play for about one minute and then freeze.
i have to force quit to eject the cd

Have you tried a different brand of CD's?
What are your import settings in iTunes prefs>Advanced>Importing?

HT3209 Cannot play 1080p HD videos from iTunes. Anyone got any ideas?

I have a AMD 6 core @ 2.8 GHz, 16 GB of RAM and a Geforce GT 640 with HDCP support, but still cannot play 1080p HD videos from iTunes. Anyone got any ideas?
According to the hardware requirements, my system well exceeds them, but no joy!

UPDATE: I backed up my phone, wiped it (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings), & then restored it through iTunes. For whatever reason, that seems to have fixed the problem. Movies now sync to my phone like they used to.
That process seems to have corrected 1 or 2 other minor issues, including one where iTunes was 'syncing artwork' for a long time on every sync.

After software update, I can see the songs on iPod nano in iTunes, but I cannot play/move the songs from iTunes.

What did you use to download it with? iPad? iPhone? Computer?
If it's an iPad/iPhone, play it using the videos app.
If on the computer, look on the left side of iTunes in the library under movies.

Cannot play music from Iphone on iTunes

This is the setup:
I have a home PC that I use to sync / buy content on my Iphone. When I come to work, I have none of this data on the PC, but I want to play the content of my Iphone through my PC.
When I click on the iphone triangle and click music, the content is all grey and I cannot play (or double click to play).
How can I play this music on my Itunes?

I've had this problem for ages. You've inspired me to find a fix and I appear to have found one.
I manually sync my iphone at home (computer A) and I wanted to play songs on Computer B at work. The songs were all greyed out on Computer B.
Now, to get around this I have selected "Manually manage music and videos" from the sync options in iTunes.
I have no other options selected for sync options as I do actually want to manually manage music rather than sync it.
Now, when I click on "Music" from within itTunes --> iPhone it is no longer greyed and is playable through Computer A and Computer B.
Think that made sense, if not let me know

Cannot play music made in GarageBand on iPhone (in Mail & Messages)

I've made a song in GarageBand on my iPhone 5, iOS 8.1.2, 32 GB, black. I wanted to listen it so I sent it to me via email. When I open Mail on iPhone and download attachment, I cannot play the file. Instead of Play button, there's a text saying "MPEG-4". Even if I sent then via iMessage, the same thing happens.

Cannot play just purchased video in iTunes..

Just bought a new video...sync'd with my iPhone. Plays on my phone no problem,
However, I cannot play it in iTunes. The screen is blank...no sound...but the clock is running.
Other videos (also bought via iTunes) play fine. its just this one.

I am a new MAC user and just converted my iTunes over. I do have some songs that were purchased on my PC but I have moved often so my user name was changed based on email addresses. How can I gain access to those older boughten songs. I have about 100 and of course they are my favorite. Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Cannot play videos since I updated iTunes

Hey I cannot watch videos through quicktime or itunes, where there should be the video is a flickering green screen, I can still get sound though. What's weird is the videos transfer to my iPod fine and they play ok. I have tried uninstalling iTunes and downloading the latest version from the site and it didn't work, this problem only started when I updated to iTunes 7. Another problem I am having is with the new 'Get Album Artwork' feature, I've got the artwork on iTunes now, but when I sync my iPod it doesnt show up on there. All the other artwork that I got myself is fine, its just the new artwork download via iTunes. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

okay, let's try something that worked for me when attractive beast wasn't transferring artwork (even though i had "display artwork" enabled).
plug the ipod in, and click on the Music tab. uncheck "display artwork on your ipod" and then click "Apply".
after itunes has done its thing, recheck "display artwork on your ipod" and then click "Apply".
does the artwork transfer to the ipod?

Cannot play any music bought from iTunes

I can no longer play any of the music I bought from iTunes, although anything else is fine. I get this message --
The required file was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed.
I have changed the permissions on every single music file permissions to everybody read and write, so what is the problem?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

QuickTime in Safari cannot play video after upgrading to iTunes 10.2

After upgrading to iTunes 10.2 and QuickTime 10 on my MacBook Pro, the latest Quicktime version embedded in Safari is behaving strangely. When I want to play video on certain websites like " http://www.lynda.com/Aperture-3-tutorials/essential-training/59221-2.html ", the Quicktime logo on Safari browser appears and just sits there with sound only. I tried it on Firefox, the video can only be played on the lower part of my suddenly splitted screen, there is an "error" message on a Quicktime logo background.
Could anybody help me solve the problem. By the way, all these videos can be played normally on my Windows 7 desktop using both Firefox and Safari for Windows.

To make the matter more weird, the QuickTime plays normally on my Safari after I log out and switch to the administrator account of the MacBook Pro. When I change back to a normal account, the QuickTime error takes place again. It seems there must be something I configured wrongly.

Just upgraded to 10.7 - cannot play movies or TV programs - iTunes freezes and Windows states iTunes has stopped working and kicks me out - play audio OK, store and synching to devices OK.

iTunes has always worked beautifully - opened it yesterday and said upgrade was available so I did and upgrade seemed to be successful - no errors and program launches and all my music, TV programs, Movies, etc, were there. Audio works well. Insert the CD. In iTunes, select teh CD then right click - get info.
This will change the name of that CD in iTunes and on the desktop.

Cannot play songs or podcasts on iTunes

I have a Toshiba Satellite that I have used since Christmas with Windows Vista. I haven't listened to anything from iTunes for a while but it would work just fine before. Today I tried but it refused to play anything. I could download my podcasts just fine but every time I tried to play them they wouldn't. Same with all of my songs. I updated my version of iTunes, restarted the computer, but neither worked. I then tried them on Windows Media Player which gets the podcasts and songs from the same folder and they all work fine on there. I think therefore that it's a problem with only iTunes and I was trying to find out if anyone knew what was wrong and how to fix it.

Sorry to have taken up space in the forum with this. A restart fixed the problem.
