I cannot print text only selection to 4x 6 paper?

I works with 8x11.5 but not the smaller size. I don't want the entire web page just parts of it so I highlight it and try to print selection but It won't work. Trying to save paper using smaller size.

Are you setting the paper size preference to 4x6 size paper thru Firefox?
You need to initiate printing - {Ctrl + P}, then check to make sure your printer is selected in the Printer - Name dialog window, then hit the Properties button. Go to the tab for Paper Size and select the 4x6 size, if your printer software offers that size to choose from. That setting with be held in Firefox until you select a different paper size.

Without your printer model numbers, readers can only give you vague general directions.
System Preferences > Print&Fax > ...
... shows a list of all set-up printers.
If you are having serious problems, it makes sense to "Reset the Printing System" (which also removes all printer set-ups) and add back each printer. It only takes a few minutes.

I cannot print just a selection of a page, what can I do?

I have seen that other people have asked this question also, but none of the replies on the forum are satisfactory. They all say it is not a good thing what you have done with the print option. I want to print a simple recipe, maybe half a page, I go to print and cannot select the option to print just the selection. It shows 7 pages to print! What a waste of time, paper, and ink!!!
The only option people seem to have found is to copy the selection and paste it in a word document. Then you end up with a lot of junk in word that is not needed. This is also time consuming.
My old version of foxfire didn't have this problem. Please fix this issue or I will be forced to switch to another browser, which I don't want to do as foxfire still has the least crashes of any browser I have used.

Cannot print text of icard

Hi,
I just finished my icard and would like to print it. The problem is, my mac seems to see only the first page of it. When I click on "preview", the text on page 2 has completely disappeared - logically, the printer cannot print it either. Is there anybody who can help?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try using another font and print to PDF to see if the text comes thru. Also delete the iPhoto cache folder from your User/Library/Caches folder.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Cannot Create Text-Only Topic File in RoboHelp 7

I've been trying to add context-sensitive text-only help to my project using ROBOHELP 7. However, when I select "Create/Import What's This? Help File" it
does not create the file when I enter the file name on the Create/Import What's This? Help File dialog box. I enter the file name and clicl Open BUT the file is not created....weird.
How can I create this file so i can create text-only help.

I decided to see if I could sort this. It seems illogical, but here is what I seem to have discovered. When you right-click the "What's This? Help Files" and choose Create/Import, one might assume that you would be able to create a new file. But this doesn't seem to be the case. So here's how I overcame it. From the dialog, right-click and choose to create a new Text file. Nothing will seem to appear (at least it didn't for me). Dismiss the dialog, then repeat the process. You should see a file named New Text Document.txt. Right-click and name it what you like. Then you will be able to point at this document via the dialog.

Photosmart 6510e cannot print a "screen shot" onto plain A4 paper ?

hi all, my lap top has broken down, using an iPad2 i can print with airprint perfectly ok onto a4 paper. i select a file from my iPads photo stream, it is obviously a photo, but it is a screen shot and i want it printed onto a4 plain paper, my 6510 insists on me putting a photo sized glossy paper in, so it wont print anything on a4 plain paper ! perhaps i should add the printer is brand new and i have just taken it out of the box later i have tried to print the same picture using eprint, same result, why cant i print a picture onto A4 size paper ? PLEASE tim

AirPrint does not have any formatting capability and ePrint is very limited. I would download and install the HP ePrint Home & Biz app from the App Store. It will allow you to select paper size, image size, paper type and paper source.

Cannot print PDF with selectable text from Chrome

Fairly recently (since the last chrome update?) I cannot select text in my PDFs printed from Chrome (on my windows 7 machine).
Previously, I had discovered the workaround (print using printer dialog) that is outlined here Google Chrome | Cannot select text in PDF but that solution no longer works, however. Now, even if I follow that method, zooming in shows that the text has been converted to outline and the text cannot be selected OR searched for within windows.
Doing the same print from Internet Explorer yields the expected result - selectable, searchable text.
This may well be a Chrome issue... but considering it makes the above workaround invalid I figured it should be reported. Perhaps Adobe has a big enough voice to get Googles attention.
It's such a massive pain - all PDFs I've created in the last couple of weeks are useless.

Agreed.. it is raised there also (Google Groups)... although there are multiple posts on the matter being ignored so I'm not overly optimistic.
I just figured if Adobe cared enough above the issue to write that (now incorrect) help page Google Chrome | Cannot select text in PDF then they (and others) may care to know that particular solution is no longer working.
The only thing that seems to work is Google's own "Save as PDF"... which seems to support your point, unfortunately.

Adobe Reader 9.1.3 fr does not print text, only graphix

I recently had a problem with windows live hotmail, removed the recently installed adobe reader usin windows removing program to test the problem with no change then reinstalled adobe reader, since i connot print any pdf file, only the graphix is printed. I have : windows family vista french on a dell 530.

To clarify my previous post, I had already seen http://forums.adobe.com/message/1770581 . I mentioned in my post that I get the message "Preview not supported" when I click the Preview button from the print dialog in Adobe Reader, and thus concluded that the "Preview" workaround discussed in that thread wasn't helping me.
However, re-reading that post, they were talking about using the Mac "Preview" application to print the pdf file. Like every other application (other than Reader) I have tried, the Mac's Preview application prints just fine, and is another workaround.
The only program that doesn't print for me is Adobe Reader.
BTW, I also have an Intel chip in my MacBook Pro.
Re-installing Leopard, as suggested by one post in that thread, is not a reasonable option for this problem.
In fact, since Preview allows me to view and print .pdf's , my solution is probably just going to be not to use Adobe Reader. In fact, had I not been new to the Mac, I would have known that I didn't need Adobe Reader at all.
However, I'm glad this happened, in the sense that I use CS3 on the PC, and had considered moving to CS4 on the Mac. However, since Adobe apparently hasn't figured out how to get printing to work on a Mac from their flagship product (!), I will be sure to do a lot of testing of CS4 before considering buying the upgrade.

Photosmart 309 cannot print on 5.5 x 8.5 paper - using windows 8

I am trying to print thank you notes on 5.5 x 8.5 card stock. Even if I put a custom size on page set up in Microsoft Publisher, printer says paper is wrong size.

After checking out the printer specifications for your Photosmart c309a model, the size of card stock you are trying to print on is not supported.

I have a requirement of printing text only on the last page of the adoe Forms.
I know how to do this in Smart Forms , but being a novice in adobe forms i am unable to get the exact place to puth these conditions.

I am using Illustrator CS6 and cannot for the life of me get the page setup right for the roll paper printing. I have an Epson Stylus Pro R3000, cannot print a banner when using the roll paper.
Image size is 290mm x 583mm. Every paper selection, A3+ roll, A3+ roll banner, A3+ roll banner borderless etc all crop the print at 483mm - yes, it thinks the printer is cutting to a sheet size yet all the settings are set to banner. After using half a roll of semi gloss decided to ask for help. Cannot find anywhere in the CS6 Printer Dialogue box to change it so the media size changes.
Please help, I'm going nuts.

Even simpler than that.
Clicking once in a text box selects it.
Clicking once in a selected text box places the insertion point in the box.
The clicks do not need to be close enough in time to be read as a double click.
The same behaviour applies to table cells in Pages and in Numbers.

Epson Stylus CX9400 - Cannot print in black ink only

I cannot print in black ink only on my CX9400 printer. My OS is Windows 7. I've never had this problem before, and it only happens with pdf documents. Please adivse me how to correct this problem. Thank you.

In 10.1.2, we have intentionally removed the option 'Print color as Black' from the print dialog due to its incorrect behaviour of converting all text to black. The correct one is to print it as Grayscale and for doing so, you can follow the two below mentioned methods:
Method 1:
1. Select your printer and click on its properties button.
2. Search for option 'Print in Grayscale', which is provided at different location for different printers. One I am attaching for reference is under 'Color' tab of printer properties
3. Click ok and then print.
Method 2:
1. Select your printer.
2. click on Advance button.
3.Select Color management section -> 'Working Gray' as color profile.
4. click ok and then print.
Hope this will solve your problem.
