Besides not printing, the OK button on my Tools settings no longer works. That just started, too.

The print button, control p or any other way to get to the print screen do not work. There is no response. I can print from sites like MapQuest that have their own print button.

I cannot use file print or file print preview. This started since I upgraded to the latest version of firefox. (7.0.1) It used to work. I am using windows XP and have tried several of the suggestions in troubleshooting. I am not a computer geek, so they are probably over my head. All I know is they did not work. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing firefox. did not work. First of all, firefox does not completely uninstall. Therefor, my home page and favorites are automatically on the new install. Both of my printers still do not work with Firefox. They both work with internet explorer. Your live chat is always closed whenever I try to use it. If someone from Firefox does not help soon, I might resort to trying Bing as my backup browser. Your suggestion for using about:config does not work. I also want to note that this is the primary (and oldest) computer to my personal network. This computer is connected to two printers using printer cables. Both printers used to work with Firefox. Neither do now. If I click onto File - print preview, nothing happens. If I click file - print, nothing happens. Contro P does not work either. This is Firefox 7.0.1. This is with Windows XP.
My laptop uses Windows 7. It has Firefox 3.0.19. It connects to both printers using the network wireless router. Both printers work with this laptop computer. I also have another computer tied to my home intertainment center in my family room. It also runs Windows 7 and a older version of Firefox. Although I do not print much from it, both printers work thru Firefox.
As the old Windows XP computer gets most of my use, I really want to fix the problem. One solution might be to re-install an older version of Firefox. Another solution might be to re-install the Firefox 7.0.1. This one I have tried unsuccessfully. That is probably because there is old files of Firefox that do not delete with add & remove programs. That file is found in my programs file. It cannot be deleted because it is write protected, or something like that. It must have all of the files for my home page and favorites files. Otherwise they would not be on the newly installed Firefox (which they are). The same files probably have the files that are causing the printer problem.
If Mozilla Firefox wants customer satisfaction and it's share of the browser business, then they must make sure they fix problems like this. That means having live technical support. That support person can reach me at (480) 968-0107, or (602) 400-7182. If I do not resolve this issue in a timely manner, then I will switch from Firefox to Bing.

Cannot print with firefox. Internet Explorer prints fine. I have WinXP SP3

I read existing fixes such as trying to fix print spooler Firefox I cant get a native dialog box to appear, the CNTRL P produces an error message saying I do not have a printer set up, so I cant figure out how to change the print spooler through firefox. I checked and the print spooler in Windows is running and in automatic mode. I also tried to create a new profile and not sure that process worked either because after setting up a new profile, I couldn't get firefox to load.

Thanks edmeister for the quick reply. I actually ran across that article and attempted to follow the instructions in the appropriate sections however things did not work as advertised so I was not able to successfully complete any part of it.

This above note is what I believe the problem is. Firefox is not set up properly and I also tried to solve the printspool service issue too. I checked and printspool service seems to be properly set up through windows, and is set to automatic, but the article suggests that if you don't configure firefox properly, printing won't work. Cntrl P didnt seem to work on my pc and so I could not get to the printers dialog box through firefox. I seem to know just enough to muddle through, but not enough to solve these problems by myself. Let me know if there are more detailed instructions when the fix you sent me, does not quite solve the problem because the system does not work as it was supposed to.

I cannot print from firefox. I can print from open office. It seems to have something to do with when frames open because in IE, I can print a whole page, but when I try to use a print button embeded in a page or frame it does not work.

In Internet Explorer, I was able to print by pushing the print button, but when opening a frame, like in mapquest, the embedded print button brings up an options window that has print frames options in it, but when hit OK in this box, a second error box comes up with a yellow exclamation point and nothing prints. Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
    To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

Suddenly I cannot print any web pages from Firefox. It was printing one day and not communicating with the printer the next. Did not happen with an upgrade to Firefox or plugins. Printer dialog came up but nothing sent to printer.

I cannot print from Firefox either all of a sudden. Maybe first thing in the AM, it will print something but then, that's it. I am running OX 10.5 too and using Firefox 3.6.8. I am ready to stop using this!! I like it but it is frustrating. I am on my mac all day for work and cannot find a solution to this Firefox problelm. Maybe Mozilla can help me. Anyone have any answers? I use a HP Laserjet 2300L.

Cannot print from Firefox

For some time now I cannot print from Firefox. I thought it might be a glitch after an update, but have updated again since and it still does not work. If I try to print to a printer, nothing happens. If choose print and then save to PDF it seems to work, but then when I try to open the file I get an error message from Adobe saying "There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.". On the other hand, I can print and save to PDF from Safari without any problem. I am using Mac OSX 10.5.8, Firefox 6.0.2.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Please do a CLEAN install:
Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:
Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.
Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
Windows:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

Cannot print from Firefox any version to adobe pdf. Have adobe acrobat plugins 11.0.3.37 and 9.5.5.316

I cannot print any Firefox page to an adobe printer, that is, to create a pdf, even if my computer has an "adobe printer" installed and the adobe plugins are updated.
However, there is no problem if I use the "pdf it!" add-on.
Also if Firefox is already exhibiting a pdf page, the command "print" crashes the browser.
My Firefox is always updated and this problem exists since mid 2012.

HI, guys, thanks for your help, but I will try to be more precise.
1. When I started this thread, I meant that yes I could read pdf's in firefox. I could not print ANY firefox (html) page to my adobe printer. When I command the page to be printed to adobe, I see a small window that shows the pdf being assembled, but it stops in the middle, stays locked, and firefox has to be manually crashed so that I keep working.
If, instead of commanding a print to adobe, I use the pdfit! add-on, it creates a pdf in any directory I choose, without problems. But I think I should not depend on the pdfit! because I've always used the firefox until mid 2012 (I can't remember which release)
2. The same thing happens when Firefox is already exhibiting a pdf and I simply command File-Print. I must crash Firefox in order to keep working.
3. When, upon your suggestion, I disabled both adobe add-ons, then when I click a link to open a pdf, I don't get an open choice, just save or cancel. It's a new ball game, besides not solving the original problem.
4. By the way, the preference pdfjs.disabled in about:config is False.

Anything printed with firefox prints too small

anything printed with firefox prints too small. If I print and email it prints in the center top of the page and is just larger than a credit card. if I adjust the scale to 100% the it prints what could fit on one page onto 4 pages and prints a small portion in the center top of the page and is just larger than a credit card.

Ok i think i fixed this issues.
i went to about:config print.print_margin_bottom (and also left, right and top) and right clicked reset (it took out the previous 0.5 value). now the pages look normal on print preview without the large margin

Cannot Print with Acrobat Standard X

One of my clients is running ACROBAT X Standard on Windowes 7 64-bit.. She cannot print any PDF using Acrobat to any printer. Print jobs never reach the queue. As a work around she muct convert to Word.
Printing as image does not help.
Saving a copy does not help.
I have applied al updates, repaired and completely removed and re-installed the product but nothing helps.
Also, the Printer Properties button and Page Setup buttons do not work. They are not disabled (greyed out), they just don't launch these functions.
I appreciate any help!

Cannot print from Firefox. 3.6.13. Tells me it is printing but only a blank page comes out of the printer. Safari works fine, but I like Firefox. Using Mac 10.6.5 .

Try This!
1) Go to Print Preview
2) Print
3) Name: HP PSC 2100 series (depend on your printer)
4) Properties...
5) Paper size: letter
6) Change to Paper size: A6
7) OK
8) Repeat step 4 again
9) Change back again Paper size: letter
10) OK
11) Don't print, but go back to Print Preview again and see if it works

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Cannot print with Cannon LBP5000 and Timecapsule

So I've read that the Cannon LBP5000 is not compatible after all with Time Capsule. Due to the CAPT Driver being bi-directional. I do not accept this as a resolution and feel that Apple cannot simply push this aside. My reason for that is this.
I was printing fine, with both my MBP and Air via a USB cable to my Cannon LBP5000 - great.
I then decided to go wireless printing. And bought a HP 2101nw print server for £30. I could then print wirelessly - fab!
I then decided to upgrade my MBP to Lion. I then could no longer print on that machine. Air still fine - pants.
I then had to (for other support reasons) upgrade my Air to Lion, to fix something else. I could no longer print from their either - bugger.
After much passing of bucks and research, I found out the HP 2101nw driver is not Lion compatible, nor do Apple or HP have any intention of fixing that. I was told to discard that wireless print server for something compatible with Lion - cheers.
I then bought a 2TB TimeCapsule. And found I couldnt print from that either for the lame reason I quoted at the start.
If this print worked wirelessley with a £30 print server on Snow Lepoard, why is it acceptable for it to not work on a £249 device. The printer hasnt changed, but it seemed a £30 solution is able to handle this 'Bi-Directional' impediment where the mighty TimeCapsule gives up.
What a load of tosh - really, really unimpressed Apple. Take ownership and responsiblity for something for once and fix the exceptionally painful transistion you pushed us through with Lion.

When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.
