I cannot publish a large Edge Animation as an .oam in Dreamweaver

The Animation is 135mb and I can see it OK in Edge. When I publish to an Animate Deployment Package it also arrives as expected - but when I insert it as an Edge Animation into Dreamweaver it does not pick up the height and the width - and when I change those dimensions in the property inspector - and then publish - it does not send anything to the server.
Please help.

Hi both of you and Elaine,
I am fully aware how large the file is - I am not that naive.
It is a long time back since I sent this post - and it is also sorted a long time ago by putting it into an iFrame.
…but I understood that I from inside Edge Animation could export an .oam file and use it integrated in Dreamweaver. (I followed a tutorial from Edge Animate.) But it did not work and the only explanation that I can think of is the file size. ….but there was no problems using an iFrame - so why use an .oam at all?
regards

  • Edge animation works in browser preview from edge and muse but not in chrome when published

    I have an Edge animation that worked fine in Chrome, Safari and IE.
    The last time I published my Muse site (To BC) again (since update to CC2014) it no longer worked in Chrome!
    Preview in browser (Chrome) from edge works, preview in browser (Chrome) from Muse works, publish and it doesn't work in Chrome (but does in Safari and IE).
    Have been trawling for possibilities but I'm not that web techy! Any help would be appreciated

    I don't remember specifically what fixed it at all as I'd done all of the following:
    Removed Muse and Edge and prefs
    Updated Muse and Edge
    trashed cache in Chrome
    copied the contents of the Edge project / stage into a new project and saved as cc2014 version
    re-published the whole site from Muse
    After many attempts it started working again but I can't say that it was one thing in particular - sorry about that.

  • Can only websites using Dupral as a publishing tool publish Edge Animations?

    I just heard this from a friend working with news media. I don´t know web stuff and publishing myself, but according to what he said Edge animations seems to be VERY limited when trying to get clients interested, since most can´t use the format since they don´t use Dupral. It ends up having to be screencasted, which lowers the quality from vector to more or less grainy video (huge difference) and renders interactivity useless.
    This might be a game changer for me. If anything less than the majority of webmakers can´t publish Edge projects I can´t spend time learning this program.
    Any takes on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi LARV
    Edge Animate just publishes the usual HTML/JS/CSS stuff.No dependency with drupal.

  • Editing a Published Edge Animation

    Is there any way to edit the Edge Animation once you have pressed "publish", To make any changes I have been deleting all the files and starting again with a fresh .html since making changes to the original file and hitting "publish" again seem to have no affect.

    Hi, phylobean-
    Saving and republishing should rewrite your files.  There may be an issue with the timestamp - have you tried waiting a minute and then republishing?

    Thank you for your answer.
    I do use cdn off for publish setting.
    The Web site that I am working on is a very complicated site. Edge
    animations are in a subdirectory of Apache server.
    When server is offline, I get all files from Appcache without problem,
    excepted *_EdgePreload.js.
    I Google hundreds time, cannot find answer on why this file is always get
    online.
    Finally, I find out myself, Adobe Edge don’t like relative file path for
    *_EdgePreload.js.
    Change to root absolute path fixed the problem:

  • Bootstrap, height of edge animation and others div content in the page- overlay issue

    I’ve a problem with the position others div tags in a page with a edge animation in the top (in the below example, div “box-animation”… export it with “publish target: Web”).
    The static content (in the below example, class “content-static”) is always overlay to the animation, instead to view it below div “box-animation”.
    The first solution is to set an height for edge animation container (for example, #box-animation height: 500px) but its very complicate to manage it with responsive website.
    So, how to view the static content in a div tag after an animation create with edge animate, to avoid overlay effect?
    This my first animation with Edge Animate and I always thought that the animation would have been placed in the html order of the webpage...
    Thanks
    Example:
    <body>
    <div id=“box-animation”><div id="Stage" class=“animation1…”>[edge animation]</div></div>
    <div class="container">
      <div class="row">
        <div class="span12">
          <div class=“content-static”><p>Test content</p></div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>

    Hi... put a trasparent gif image, with the same animations's width/height, in the first div after the edge code container.
    If you want responsive layout, remember to remove width/height values.
    <body>
    <div id=“box-animation”><div id="Stage" class=“animation1…”>[edge animation]</div></div>
    <div class="container">
      <div class="row">
        <div class="span12"><img src="images/spacer.gif" alt=""/>
          <div class=“content-static”><p>Test content</p></div>
        </div>
      </div>
    </div>
    </body>

  • How to integrate an Edge animation in a website by hand

    I created an Edge animation and published it as an .oam file.  But i need to work on the website on someone elses computer who does not have creative cloud or even Dreamweaver.   I am working there in a text editor.
    What are the requirements - what do I have to do - to integrate the .oam file into that site?    All the references I've found bring in Dreamweaver to do it.   I don't have access to Dreamweaver in that environment, only to a text editor to edit the html.
    I actually was able to publish the project as a Web site and integrated it that way without the .oam file, but I would like to know how to use the .oam file because it might be simpler.

    Hi, Ken-
    The OAM file is actually a compressed file to be used for import into another product, like Dreamweaver or InDesign.  We don't recommend you package in OAM; instead, simply ZIP up your files and hand-integrate the unpacked HTML as an iframe on your friend's machine.
    Hope that helps!

  • I need linkability on an placed edge animation

    I brought in an edge animation that needs to link (on click) to a page within the site.  the animation has some interactive features that I established in Edge (and they are working fine) so I can't put a 0 opacity linking object over the top of it because I lose this interactivity. It seems strange to me that the OAM file is not a linkable object.

    Well, you basically answered your own question: Just like you cannot determine what to click when adding an overlay, so couldn't the code you add on top of it. There is simply no way to distinguish whether your click was meant to hit the invisible layer or the red ball in your Edge animation. You need to think of something else like including the links in the Edge animation or using a separate link.

  • Edge animation does not visible on Business Catalist

    HI,
    I made a simple Edge animation, published as .oam and placed in Muse, when previewing in browser form Muse, the animation is visible, when publishing to Business catalist, it is invisible and Button with ! • How to force a responsive Edge animation to re-evaluate its container size?

    I have an Edge animation stage embedded in a relatively complex page, inside a container div whose width is set by media queries and which may or may not be faded out by $.fadeOut. I've figured out how to trigger playback, but the stage doesn't seem to be updating its estimate of the container's width regularly. Specifically, the stage will scale itself to its min-width (disappearing if there is no min-width) and get stuck there in a specific case when the container's container has been hidden then shown again. And even when the stage is visible and on screen, if I make the browser thinner then wider, it seems to scale itself down but never back up. These weird problems would both be explained if the stage wasn't consistently re-evaluating how large its container was.
    In that case - is there a way to force the stage to re-evaluate its container size using Javascript? Wasn't able to find anything in the documentation about this.
    Thanks!

  • Why won't my Edge animation play in DPS?

    I've created a very simple animation of svg elements fading from 0-100% opacity (no code) in Adobe Edge. When I import it into folio (set for for iPad) the animation would not play. When I preview it on desktop, I would only see the poster image and then quickly fade to white. From what I've read in one of the other forums, I have the Edge animation set up for retina (2048x1536), and then in InDesign: 1024, in folio: 2048; however, still no luck. I published the animation for Animate Deployment Package (oam), really can't think of anything else that might have gone wrong...
    Please help, thanks!

    Hi Elaine,
    This is Annie, I just updated my account to the company's account.
    Thank you so much for for your help, I was able to download the zip file. As it turns out I wasn't using the latest edge animate and indesign. After updating everything, as well as downloading the DPS destop tool kit http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5571 I tried to open the file you sent me. I got the error message: An error has occured while generating article preview. Could not find the adobe content viewer. So I tried to download the content viewer again but still, same message. I really can't figure out why...

  • Edge Animation not showing up on server?

    I put my Edge animation into Dreamweaver and it was working, but when I uploaded it to the server, it wasn't showing up. I uploaded all of the Edge animate assets for the animations in the Site Root folder. What files are needed for edge animations to upload successfully when they are placed in Dreamweaver?

    I inserted the  .oam fie that I published from Edge into Dreamweaver. I got it to work finally, but the slideshow takes a long time to load or sometimes doesn't load. I've never used an iframe before, would that be a better solution?

  • DPS and simple Edge animation - help

    Hi-
    I am having problems getting a very simple edge animation to work in my adobe digital publishing folio.
    I have several kinds of other advanced web overlays using css3 transformations, other using jquery that work perfectly.
    I thought I would save some time and try using edge for one simple animation, but nothing shows in the content overlay desktop preview or the ipad previewer. Or sometimes it all just spins and spins the desktop previewer never launches, and I have to force quit out of InDesign and restart my computer.
    I have tried uploading the whole file folder as HTMLResources.zip as well as just linking to the index.html file.
    My InDesign DPS is the most recent version CS 5.5 and Edge is the most recent preview.
    I have also tried these tips - that were posed in a previous thread:
    The first tip is to rename the InDesign layer after placing the animation.
    In the Layers panel locate the sub-layer that represents the placed HTML. It may be named <rectangle>. You can locate it more easily if the animation is selected. When an object is selected the square to the right of the object will display in color.
    Rename the sub-layer in such a way that removes the angle brackets. (Anything meaningful, just no brackets.) There’s some evidence that the angle brackets are causing issues when the content goes to DPS.
    The next tip is around settings for making the animation play when you display the page. Here are the settings.
    Auto-play = ON
    Delay = 0.125
    Can anyone see something that I may be doing wrong? Is Edge compatible with DPS?
    Thank you!

    It seems to me that the culprit lies in the generic name of the object <rectangle>, not necessarily in the Edge animation.
    I had an issue with a simple button object that went away after renaming <rectangle> (the contents of the button was a simple rectangle filled with a RGB color) to something else.
    The issue leads to a none working button in the Desktop Content Viewer to preview the folio or the article.

  • Tell edge animation to play

    Hi, Is it possible to tell an edge animation to play from a button widget in muse?

    Hi
    Sorry to say but there's not much going on between the two camps, Muse and Edge A that is.  Like you, I subscribe to Muse but since I discovered EA...well...
    Thing is, dragging the aimated button to the trigger container just overlays it which effectively hides it.  Hence, it will simply not work as a trigger to launch lightbox.  I myself had the same idea....but its more involved that this.  As always.
    A possible solution might be to design your lightbox  and simply use the built in trigger for now -  go ahead and publish the site like this.  View your site in a browser of your choice then click on the trigger which will reveal the URL that launches the Lightbox feature.  Copy this in the browser.  Cheeky eh?
    Then go back to your button in Edge A (select it) and add an on click event handler (look for {} to the left of the element and select click event).  Using the snippets on the right-hand plane choose add URL and paste the link from the clipboard between the " " so when the button is clicked it references the lightbox.  Go back to Muse and position your edge button again and publish again.  Its very long winded I know.  Get it? Will it work? dunno.  Have I tried it? no.  But the logic is faultless, because the URL trigger on your button  should point to the lightbox...thats the theory anyway.
    Hope this is of some help and hope it works...might as well give it a try eh?...this is how I discovered Edge A trying to animate buttons etc.  In the end I decided to build my entire site using it.
    regards
