I cannot re-download music that is no longer on my computer

A portion of my purchaesed items are no longer located on my computer (not sure how) and itunes says that I've already downloaded and will not allow my to re-download and replace the "unlocated" songs.  I tried to delete my purchased items in the hopes that itunes would realized that they are no longer on the computer but now the itunes store doesn't even show those songs that we downloaded prior!
HELP!!

Your post title talks about a book, but the body talks about music.  I will assume you're asking about music.
Open the music app on your iPhone.  Switch to the "Songs" view (on the bottom).  Find the song, and swipe it from left to right.  Then click "delete".
