I cannot read screen text in Lightroom 5. It is too small.

I just installed Lightroom 5.3 on my 27" iMac [14,2 OSX 10.9.1]  My eyes are usually about 32" from the screen.
Upon installation, I attempted with and without my glasses. I can't read the screen.
I increased the font size. There are only two options, small and large. Large is about 1 point larger. Thanks a bunch.
My vision isn't bad. I don't have trouble taking photos with my dozen-or-so cameras. I don't have trouble using any software. I spend hours every day in front of this computer and have no trouble at all using anything. Until now.
I have been using Adobe products for over 20 years. This is a first for the industry leader in text & print related software.
Is there another option for making the text readable? Accessability Options on the Mac turns out to be no help. Its for BLIND PEOPLE, which I am not. If my whole computer had no functionality because I could not see, Accessability Options might help. But then I wouldn't have bought a 27" iMac for photo editing if I couldn't see. Anyway, I shouldn't have to sacrifice any functionality on my machine to accomodate an Adobe product. I pay Adobe for functionality. I don't owe Adobe any favors.
I searched user forums. This issue has been brought up before. There were no answers. Is there no way to resolve the unreadability issue? Are your developers 15 year olds with 640x480 monitors? Maybe adults should look at the screen before you release this stuff?
Kind of angry.

  • Since your last update, text on all printed documents is too small to read. Spoke to Kodak and it is not my ESP7250 printer as everything prints fine with Internet Explorer

I cannot read anything printed from the internet using your browser. The text is microscopic.

First, try the printer reset described in this thread:
[http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/680315 Recently unable to print from Firefox after update-- can print from everything else. | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help]
Does that help? You also might want to check your scaling setting under File > Page Setup (if the old menu bar is not displayed, press F10 to call it up).

  • My home screen shrunk-can't swipe-it's too small

My home screen shrunk when I was viewing photos on my camera roll.  I can't swipe-its image is too small-less than a postage stamp-help!

Try resetting your iPad.  Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

  • All of a sudden the screen on my iMac 10,1 is too small for the image. Can't figure out how to reduce the size of the Finder or any of the Apps.

All of a sudden the screen is too small for the image. Hard to explain, but in order to see the entire Finder window, I must scroll the image up/down, left/right.
It's not just the Finder though, all of the apps are affected this way too.
It's probably got something to do with the fact that I have an HDMI cable running from the Mac to a Vizio 42" TV. It's been running this way just fine for over two months though.
    Any ideas?

You probably accidently zoomed the screen.  Hold down CNTL while scrolling down with the mouse or trackpad to unzoom.  Cntl - scroll up to zoom.

  • Cannot Read Entire TXT Files in "Notes" folder

Ihave a 4G iPod nano (red, if relevant... I think it's a 4g?) I cannot read entire text files in the notes folder. I can read part of the file, usually up to about a 2 KB size in standard Unicode format, but I am unable to view the entire text file. For example, I have a copy of Beowulf on my iPod that is about 267KB in size; however, I can only read through 1.87KB of it. The rest shows up in Windows Explorer and is fully functional there, but I Cannot view it from my iPod.
Anyone else have this problem, and know what I can do to fix this (besides breaking it up into about 50 chapters?)
    Thanks Much!

  • Help text unreadable (fonts too small)

    SQL Developer v.1.0 patched
RHEL4 AS Nahant Update 3 Linux
    Sun jdk1.5.0_06
Help text font in SQL Developer is too small and almost unreadable, specially monotype font used to describe SQL queries.
Help text in JDeveloper is much better.
How to increase font size in SQL Developer Help text?
    Niksa Jurinovic
    [email protected]

Although this only partially addresses the problem, you can increase the help text font size by pressing the + (plus) key in your numeric keypad (in both SQL Developer and JDeveloper). The following (or similar wording) will be added to the "Using the Help" topic in the help and the User's Guide in a future release of SQL Developer:
"To increase the size of the font in the help topic viewer, press the + (plus) key in the numeric keypad part of your keyboard when the viewer has focus. To decrease the size of the font, press the - (minus) key in the numeric keypad. This setting is preserved only for the duration of the current help pane or window; therefore, you may want to keep the help pane open after setting the help text font to your preferred size."

  • Dock:  HOW make icon label letters easier to read what icon is???? Too smal

Dock: HOW make icon label letters easier to read what icon is???? Too small and is white, so often not easy to see or read. Is there a way to make the icon lable letters in the dock bigger? And is poss to change color to black or read or something besides white (since background is oftenn white when working with documents, papers, etc.)?
Y are being appreciated right now for your future help in thisregard. Thank you.

    Hi thelnukus,
In the Apple menu you will find "Dock". When you pick this you will see a number of things you can do.
    1. Turn Magnification On/Off. If this is on, the icons will get larger as you put you mouse over then.
    2. Dock Preferences. If you pick this you will see a window open up with more options.
Dock Size, lets you set the size of the of the Dock.
Magnification, lets you set the size the icons get to when you put your mouse over them.
You can set "Magnification" to large and the icons will get large as you put your mouse over them.
If you set the "Dock Size" to small and the "Magnification" to large, the Dock will be very small, but when you put your mouse over the icons the will appear very large and easier to see.
You can also just set the Dock Size to large or a bit larger as well.
I do not know if the color can be change at all.
    I hope this helps
    Joe

  • Cannot read new on-screen text

My 84 year old mother with poor eyesight cannot read the on-screen text since the upgrade was pushed out. She views either a 55 inch HD TV in her living room from a lounge chair or a 20 inch SD TV from her bed in her bedroom. It is not feasible to move the chair or bed closer to the TV. It is not easy for her to get up and stand close to the TV every time she needs to go through the menu to watch a DVR recording. Even standing right in front of the TV, it is almost impossible to read the white text on the light blue background (due to the poor contrast). She had no problem reading the white text on a black background before the upgrade.
I experimented with the FiOS settings for SD vs HD and 480 vs 1080 but nothing helps.
I noticed that the closed captions settings allows you to change the font text color and font background color. FiOS should provide those options for the on-screen text too.
I would have expected that there would be mass outrage and complaints about the new poor contrast of on screen text due to the light blue background but the posted complaints appear to be few. I suspect it is because the customers who are the most impacted by this terrible change are not able to post complaints about it (because they are older people who are not computer literate or their eyesight issues make working with computers difficult).
I encourage everybody who wants the text background changed to black or an option added to give a choice of a black background to keep posting complaints (whether it impacts you personally or if you are sympathetic to those with eyesight disabilities). Please keep in mind, that even though your eyesight is good today, as you get older, it is likely your eyesight will also start to fail and you will appreciate easy to read text.

We agree, we are in much younger generation, and Verizon Fios Tv viewing Options are just far too limited and not up to par in this area!

  • After upgrading to MAC OS X 10.10.2 Lightroom 5 has an error that it cannot read the card when trying to import photos.  The card is fine as I can import into iPhoto so any ideas?

After upgrading to MAC OS X 10.10.2 Lightroom 5 cannot read the card (RAW files , converting to DNG) when importing.  The card is fine as I can import into iPhoto - any ideas?

It’s usually necessary to trash the prefs after updating OSX to Yosemite. Start by quitting Lightroom 5.
Launch Finder and click the Go menu whilst holding down the Option (alt) key. Then go to:
    Library >> Preferences
clear everything relating to LR5 which usually means deleting the following files:
    com.adobe.Lightroom5.plist
    com.adobe.Lightroom5LSSharedFileList.plist
    Then re-launch Lightroom.
