amyhs, thanks for those details. This is certainly quite odd that this has been going on so long and we definitely want to get to the bottom of this. Now, you stated that you have reached out to technical support and spoke with a tier two technical support representative. At this time, what actions or troubleshooting steps were taken? Are you aware if a ticket with our network technicians was ever created? As well, have you ever previously had an iPhone and are you aware if the users that are unable to message you are using iMessage?

Cannot Receive Text from One Person

I cannot receive texts from 1 person who is also a Verizon Customer, both of us have iPhone 4S phones. I receive his messages on my iPad, but not my iPhone. All other texting seems to be working with other contacts. I could receive his texts/iMessages 12 hours ago without a problem. Any suggestions? I have rebooted my phone. He can receive my texts.

I'm having a similar problem. I can receive texts from this one person but he cannot receive mine. I can also not call him but he can call me. He uses A T&T but does not have this problem when texting other verizon users. I have an Iphone 4S and he has an Iphone 5. This has been happening for 3 days. I have tried resetting the networks, restarting my phone, and checking blocked contacts. Nothing is helping with the issue.

I can receive texts from one contact but when I reply she does not receive the text. It does not say delivered when the text is sent but does not say that it has not been sent.

One of my long standing contacts cannot receive texts from me. I can see them from her. We both have iPhones . We have been texting for years.
My outgoing message is sent as iMessage and stays blue. It does not say delivered but it does not say that it has been unable to send.

i have one contact that I cannot receive messages from. I can receive messages from my other contacts. The contact reveives my messages to her. I have restared my phone, deleted and re-entered the contact information. What is up with this?

Stratosphere cannot receive texts from one person

Suddenly this morning, my girlfriend stopped receiving texts from me. It shows sent on my end, but she does not get them. I can receive text from her just fine.
I have no synced contacts, I have deleted our entire thread and deleted her as a contact. Tried sending to number with and without +1.
She has an AT&T iPhone 4 if that matters.

Blackberry Messenger: Cannot receive message from one contact only

I have been using Blackberry messenger since a few months ago. It has been working fine until 3 weeks ago that it stopped working with only one of my contacts:
I message with my friend every day and out of the blue one day I can't receive any messages from him anymore, and all the messages I send to him would only turn to "d" status even he's read them already (and he'd appear as away on my contact list with a little clock next to the smiley... messages never turn to "R").
My handheld is on a BES and his isn't. I am in the US and he is in Europe. Not sure if that's the reason... but I have other contacts that are either on or not on the same BES and there's no problem with them. He also has contacts that are in the US as well and doesn't have any problem with them either...
We have tried battery pull, shortening name, deleting and re-adding and no luck.

Unable to send or receive text from another iphone after updating ver 7.02

Before updating ver 7.02 I was able to send and receive text to any cell phone. After updating to ver 7.02 can no longer send nor receive any text from any iphone 4 or iphone 5. Can send and receive to/from an old iphone 3 and to any non-iphone but not iphone 4 or 5. Tried updating iTunes then restore phone from backup, no change. Deleted apps that were no longer being used and transferred all my pictures on phone to a folder on computer then deleted then out of iTunes. Tried restoring again, once again no change.
Not having any idea what else to try, went to AT&T store for help. Pretty much got a shrug of the shoulders with the response of yep, a lot of texting problems after 7.02 update. No help at all.
Anybody else have or had this issue? If yes, what did you find causing the problem?

Thanks for the response. I tried so many things forgot to list that I did try turning off iMessage, reset network and turned network back on- no change. Also forgot to mention it's my wife's phone, I'm more old school. If I need to talk to somebody, I just call since I already have a phone in my hand. That's my solution to the problem but she doesn't think so. LOL. Also tried hard restarting several times, didn't make any difference. I am still fiddling around with it, if I come up with anything I will post it.

On some server somwhere my AppleID still tells people they should send me iMessages. What is the solution to this issue? Deleting my AppleID would work to solve this issue, but I cannot ever delete the ID? What can Apple do for this?

If you did not erase your apps and data before getting rid of your old phone, try using Find My Phone and erasing everything remotely. See if this works.

Not receiving texts from some contacts

I have the Verizon Juke phone, and have been using the model for years. Recently, I had an issue on a previous Juke device where I was no longer receiving texts from particular contacts, while others were coming through. Everyone was able to receive my texts, however. The problem always happened between me and two or three others at the same time, so it had nothing to do with their personal phone settings. The texts from them to me would get backlogged without being delivered, then arrive en masse a week or two later all at once, and it was always random, without me fiddling around with phone settings or anything of the sort.
I assumed that it was an issue with that Juke, so I bought a new one and activated it, but it did not fix the problem. I had to call Verizon support, and after about an hour of troubleshooting, they informed me that the only solution was to remove the texting feature from my phone, then reinstate it, ultimately losing every text that was stuck in backlog. Although I lost those texts, my phone regained its functionality. The solution worked for about a month, but recently it has returned, and I would like to have a permanent fix, so that I may always receive texts from all of my contacts. As I mentioned, it is a system issue, and it has nothing to do with others' iPhone settings or anything of the sort. Thanks!

I am so sorry you are experiencing these issues with your phone. I know it's upsetting to not get your message, especially when you've put effort into troubleshooting, and the issue continues. Just to make sure, do you have the area code programmed into your contacts for each of the people you've had issues with? The number should have the area code, but not have a 1 in front of it.

Recently started not receiving texts from one person - AT&T user, also HTC One

I recently started not receiving texts from one person. He also has an HTC One (older model) but has AT&T as his provider. We were texting back and forth last Friday morning (11/8) and then he called me and ever since then I have not received a single text he has sent. He is receiving all of mine and we can receive phone calls back and forth, but his text messages are not coming through. We have both tried restarting our phones and I have also tried deleting him as a contact and recreating it however nothing works. I checked to make sure he was not blocked (which I knew wasn't the case since I could receive phone calls from him as well), and even tried turning the "block contact" on and back off. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Right now we are using work arounds with google-talk and facebook messenger but it's very frustrated for me to not receive any of the texts that his phone is saying I am receiving.
It had started sporadically over the past few weeks where I would miss a text from him every once in awhile, but now I am receiving nothing. He is the only one that I am having this issue with as I have texted back and forth with multiple others the past few days with no issues.

Hi! I'm also having the same problem. I have an iphone 5 & one person (who also has an iphone 5 but has AT&T as a provider). We had been able to send & receive phone calls & texts until mid-November. Now, we can both give & receive phone calls from each other and she receives my texts, however, I DON"T receive hers. In fact, if I'm in a group text message with her, I don't receive any of the texts that include her, even though I can give/receive texts individually from the others in the group message. The other two in the group message CAN receive both her texts & mine. This is so strange - I was left out of a whole thread of text messages & none of us knew it. They thought they were including me (nothing bounced back) & I didn't know I wasn't receiving them. Since her texting works with both of the others, I'm concluding the problem must be with my phone. Do I have an incorrect setting? I'm not sure what could have happened. PLEASE help!

You can both share the same Apple ID for purchases but i suggest one of you use another email for the use of iMessage, Facetime etc.
It is easy to do, the easiest way is to set up an iCloud email directly from your iPhone. Once set up one of you will use this for iCloud services but both still use the existing Apple ID to make purchases.

If you have access you your old iPhone, just sign out of Messages. If you do not have access to it, then change your Apple ID password.

Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
