I cannot save events in my calendar once I updated to iOS7?

I click on the "+" sign and create the event, but it won't save it!

I had this problem also with a Google Calendar on my iPhone. I talked to Apple Care and they could not help but while on the phone, I got around to the solution myself. I remembered a syncing problem I had a very long time ago with an iPod Touch. Different problem, but the only solution was to DELETE my GMAIL account from my phone completely. Then add it back on again. Make sure the Calendar is turned on once you add your Google account back on. Now the events are saving/sticking. They were flashing briefly and just disappearing before, but it's all good now. Hope this works for you!

Well, there's a lot we don't know ... for example, if you have actually set up a calendar somewhere you're trying to sync to.
Anyway, with no other information than what you provided, here's a possible troubleshooter:

• My Calendar on my iPhone won't allow me to save any events. It says "cannot save event" does anyone know how to fix this issue?

After updating my phone earlier this month to the 5.1 software my calendar won't let me save any events. It displays "Cannot save event" I have tried googling the error and I have tried restarting the app, restarting my phone and even cutting the calendar off and back on....nothing has worked. Any other suggestions???

Select the drive and Finder > Get info and at the bottom "ignore permissions on this volume"
You can copy the files, but the ownership on the files still belongs to the other user account, once your done copying, then perform a #6 Reset Users Permissions and that will set all the ownership to that account.
..Step by Step to fix your Mac
Another method is to copy the entire folder, then change it's permissions.

• My calendar will no longer let me add new event or delete them, it comes up with an error saying "cannot save event, no end date set" or "event does not belong to that event store". can anyone help with this?

Hi,
To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp
Hope this helps...
best wishes,
Nish

• Calendar on iOS 7.1: Cannot Save Event - That event does not belong to that event store.

Hi All,
I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.1.
Yesterday, while updating a birthday in the iPhone iOS calendar app (default calendar = GMail), I noticed that the new 'List View' in the iOS 7.1 calendar (and only that view) showed an event called 'New Event' - which has a start date of 2014 and an end date of 2001. If I go into that event, it will show me no title and no location - only, as mentioned, funny start and end times. The 'Delete Event' button is completely missing. This 'New Event' does not come up in any other view.
Trying to input a ficticious title with a valid start and end time into that event slot leads to a message from the calendar app saying: "Cannot Save Event - That event does not belong to that event store." I have deleted all calendars and re-add them again via settings, with / without soft and hard reset and tried every possible combination. Yet, the event will not disappear.
The funny thing is that this 'New Event' will still showed up, even when my GMail, work and iCloud calendars were disabled. I have, however, subscribed to a GMail calendar for Australian holidays, and there is a built-in 'Birthday' calendar that pulls the dates from the contacts (I do not use that contact field, though).
Does anyone have a similar issue? Any suggestions how to fix it?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: This 'New Event' does not seem to sync to any calendar other than on the iPhone - not to Gmail, not to work, not to iCloud.

Had same problem. Although the phone looks off it actually isnt. If you actually turn it off and then on again this problem will disappear. I think its a memory overload issue that is solved by clearing the memory by turning it off.
Worked for me

• When attempting to add an event to my calendar and I press "done," I receive a message that reads "Cannot Save Event." "That event does not belong to that event store." What can I do remedy this issue?

When attempting to add an event to my calendar and I press "Done," I receive a message that reads "Cannot Save Event," "That event does not belong to that event store." How do I remedy this problem so I can add events and appointments to my calendar?

i am having the exact same problem, same messages (no end date set; cannot save; no calendar set; event does not belong to that event store."
it is unbelievable to me that this issue existed so long ago and hasn't been fixed. I just bought my first apple product (iphone4s) and am ready to toss it. Despite hours of searching on these forums I have been unable to find out how to fix my calendar. I have rebooted, adjusted settings to no avail. without a calendar, i can't use this product. Also, i am not technologically brilliant and can't handle the advanced fixes that some people recommend.
question, is apple a product for the ignorant like me? or should i go back to nuts and bolts pc?
all i really want is to be able to use the calendar without "uploading, reprogramming, contacting support offices for 3 hours, contacting network administrators, upgrading, switching fonts, changing operating systems.... etc. " I am just a regular person who needs a portable calendar.
sorry to vent, but can anybody tell me (in simple terms) how to get my calendar to accept a simple apointment?
thank you.

• I have lost my calendar and now I cannot add events to it. I keep getting cannot save event no calendar has been set.

I have lost my calendar and now I cannot add events to it. I keep getting message "cannot save event no calendar has been set."

Maybe you need to Tap the Calendar Button in the upper left corner of the calendar app and select a calendar in which to add the event.
Do you have. + sign in the lower right corner of the App? If not go to Settings>iCloud>Calendar>On. If you want to sync the calendar with iCloud, leave it set to on. If not, then set it to Off.
Or try this of those suggestions don't work.
Close all app scompletely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

• Cannot add events to my calendar

Cannot add events to my calendar no plus sign button like manual shows

Just spoke with a Senior Tech at Apple Support who solved the problem, for me at least, and it involved disabling Calendar under my Gmail account.
Settings -> Mail, Contact, Calendars -> Accounts.
One of my accounts is Gmail.
Gmail -> Mail, Calendars, Notes. Mine were all turned 'ON'
Turn OFF Calendars.
Voila.
Go back to Home->Calendar-> and the Plus + sign is there and editing is fine!!!!!

• Updated 4s now i am unable to save events in my calendar. Why?

why cant i save events on my calendar? iphnoe 4s

Thank you for the answer!
Do you mean that I can sync attendees correctly with iCloud calendars only? I googled this and saw some topics where somebody was able to invite guests in Exchange, for example. Apple User Guide reads that it's possible even for iPhone home calendar...
Actually, I am developing custom CalDav server, and I want my iPhone to work with the events received by there. I am successfully able to invite users, etc. from Snow Leopard as well as from Windows Mozilla clients. Why doesn't it work in iPhone? Is there any way to receive some documentation abot the subject?

• Getting message on ICAL that I cannot add events to mail calendar

I have always been able to add events to my ICAL calendar. Getting a message saying I cannot add events....what's up?

you may also want to try running the discs Apple gives you when you get your computer.
, there you can reinstall iCal and everything should work brand new for the app.

• Can't add/modify/delete events from iPad calendar app after updating to iOS-5

Ever since I upgraded the OS on my iPad, I haven't been able to delete/modify events on the calendar app. I have to do it on my Mac first then sync my iPad to it. How do I fix this. Can't delete Calendar app & reinstall.

Have you restarted the iPad? some have reported that restarting it, by holding down the sleep and home key until you see the silver apple, can resolve the issue.
