Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook to ENVY 5530, get error message that "printer is offline"
    Thanks for the help.

    Hey @Geneferg,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding this issue. Because your printer shows connected on the Wireless Test Report, I am going to have you run some standard Mac troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve this issue.
Step 1: Uninstall Drivers and Software:
First, it's important to have a nice clean slate to work with. Therefore, I am going to have you remove and uninstall the software and drivers for your HP Envy.
To start, can I please have you click here and run through the steps on how to Reset the Print System for your computer. Please run through the steps on 'Resetting the printing system in Mac OS X v10.5.x or 10.6.x'. This will remove every printer from your computer. However, this does not uninstall the printers. Therefore, if you use other printers on your Mac computer simply ensure that the printer is connected through the USB Cable or network connected and (+) add the printer back in via the Print & Scan window. Do not add your HP Envy back in at this time.
Next, please click here and follow through with the uninstall steps under the 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8, and OS X v10.9' dropdown.
Once the uninstall is complete, please proceed to the next step.
Step 2: Verify and Repair your Disk Permissions on the Mac:
Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    Go to the Utilities Folder
    Open the Disk Utility
Select the Hard Drive volume you are using (usually on the left)
    Select Verify Disk Permissions
Once that process is done, select Repair Disk Permissions
Step 3: Check for Apple Updates:
    Go to Apple
    Select System Preferences
    Select Software Update
    Click Update Now
    Install your available updates
    Restart your computer
Step 4: Reinstall your Software and Drivers:
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Once the website opens, select the Download button on the top left
Once the download is complete, please follow any onscreen instructions to reinstall your wireless printer
Once your printer has been successfully reinstalled please test the printing function again to verify if the 'offline' issue has been resolved.
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

I cannot print wirelessly from Macbook Pro: this is the error message I receive /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpII failed. Can anyone help. I have been able to print on this printer for months, then yesturday out of the blue I get this error.

    "/Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS /rastertoescpII failed"
I also saw this same error message above the Print Queue, ever since allowing the Epson Printer Software Update (August 2013) to install. After this update installed, I was able to print a basic Test Page from the Print Queue, but when printing from any application I only got "Looking for printer..." displayed above the Print Queue, which would stall and never print.
2008 MacBook, 10.7.5. It used to print to my Epson WorkForce 845 wirelessly without problems, before this software update was installed.
Changing the driver from "Epson WorkForce 845" to "Epson WorkForce 600 - Gutenprint v5.2.3" was a workaround that did allow me to print, but I wasn't satisfied with that.
Found this better solution in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5233149?start=0&tstart=0
    (with thanks to Yuengdog1983):
This issue may be a result of the Computer Name being left empty:
Open System Preferences and choose Sharing.
Enter a name for your computer.
Even without restarting the MacBook, I was able to now change back to using the Epson WorkForce 845 driver v9.0 successfully. I never would have guessed that a Computer Name is required in order to print!

  • Cannot print wirelessly from MacBook Pro OSX Mavericks

I cannot get my new MacBook Pro (using OSX Mavericks) to communicate with my HP Officejet4500 Wireless.  I can print when I use a connecting USB cable, but cannot print wirelessly.  All of my Mac software updates are current as of 4/20/2014, which included an update for HP printers.  When I used the disk to install the printer software, it did not have a screen for entering my wireless router ID or passcode.  In the Mac System Preferences for Print and Scan, my Officejet 4500 G510n-z is listed, but to no avail.  What do I have to do to get my Mac to print wirelessly?  Thanks.

OK, thanks for that.  It may indeed may be the problem, but let's check a couple of things first.
    1. On the printer: Setup > Network > Print Network Test.  Is the printer connected to the network?  If it is not:
         a. In the Network menu, Restore Defaults
         b. In the same Network menu, run the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your network.
    2. On your Mac, download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
         Restart your Mac.
    3. Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

  • Can't scan wirelessly from Canon Pixma MX892

I'm on the latest OS X 10.8.2.  I can scan wirelesly at home with no problems from my HP OfficeJet 6900 series.  I just open up the Preview app, choose File > Import from Scanner and away I go.
But I just bought a new Canon Pixma MX892 that claims to scan wirelessly.  I've printed wirelessly with no problems from the Canon printer.  But when I want to scan a document, I open the Preview app and the option to Import from Scanner is grey and I'm not able to select it.
I went to the Canon website and found the scanner drivers and installed those.  But it still doesn't work.
    I'm stuck.  Help!

I figured out how to make it work by going back to the product page (http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mx_s eries/pixma_mx892#DriversAndSoftware) and downloading the MP Navigator EX Ver. 5.1.0.
You have to choose your OS and version.  Then the MP Navigator is located in the Software menu.
Once I downloaded this program, I was eventually able to set it up and scan from it.
But still no option to scan from the menu in the Preview program.

  • Installed mountain lion, now I cannot print wirelessly from imac or macbook

I installed mountain lion. I updated as much as there is to update via software. Now when I try to print wirelessly from my imac and macbook pro it says "unalbe to find printer" and printer is not connected from both computers.
I reconfigured the Brother MFC 7840W printer settings and it says that it is connected. I've always been able to print before, so this is related to the new ML installation.

also, the printer says it is not connected, maybe if i connect it, i can print wirelessly. how do i connect it?

It works fine printing when I plug my computer into the cord that is connected to the printer. but without the cord, it says the printer is "offline". I am wondering if the only way to print is if I connect it with the cord, or if i can somehow print wirelessly that I do not know about. thanks!

also, the printer says it is not connected, maybe if i connect it, i can print wirelessly. how do i connect it?

  • Cannot scan wirelessly

I am using OSX Yosemite and trying to scan wirelessly.  I have tried the following:
    1) updating printer driver
    2) deleting printer and reinstalling
    3) connecting USB while installing
When I install printer for wirelss printer, the printer only lists under System Preferences as a "Printer".  No scan option is given.  Meanwhile, if I connect my printer via the USB, ther Printer listed under System Preferences does have the scan option.
I used to be able to scan wirelessly.  I don't know what happened.  Could you please help?
    Thank  you!

    Hi,
Please try rebooting your router by unplugging its power for a moment, plug it back and allow it 3 minutes to start, then restart your Mac and try addng the printer under System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
If that doesn't help, click the Apple icon and select About This Mac, then click on Software Update.
Click the top Store menu and select Reload Page, if there are any HP updates available install them, then check for any difference.
Please let me know the retults, if the issue remain please clarify your printer model.

  • Cannot print wirelessly from my Mac to newly installed HP Officejet 4620

I've just installed a new HP Officejet 4620 all-in-one printer this afternoon.   I used the  HP Setup Assistant and downloaded drivers from the internet since I don't have a CD drive on my Mac.  I've got a relatively new Netgear router.   When I bought the printer yesterday, I spent all afternoon trying to install it to no avail.  Got some message about a MAC filter problem.  I then reset the Netgear back to its default settings as well as the printer and then the printer setup seemed to be successful.  At least I got a message to that effect and the Printer Status Report, HP Network Configuration Page, and Wireless Network Test Results reports are came back with no problems.  I've tried multiple times to print from this computer to no avail.  When I press Command plus P the print menu comes up with "save" or "cancel" as the only options.  Anyone have any ideas on what could be amiss?  I'm about ready to give up.

So it sounds like the printer is connected to the wireless network.  If so:
    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
Click it.

  • Cannot print wirelessly from Windows 7 (64 bit) laptop to Officejet 6000 Wireless (E609n)

The printer is a HP Officejet 6000 Wireless (E609n) and is connected via usb to a Windows 7 (64 bit) desktop and the laptop has Windows 7 (64 bit) loaded.
No changes were made that I'm aware of other than the usual Windows updates.
Server is offline is displayed next to the printer icon on the laptop when printing is attempted.
The wireless network test report shows no problems.
I have rebooted the desktop and printer with no success.
The laptop used to print wirelessly without a problem.

I am not sure the Officejet 6000 can have both the wireless and USB ports active at the same time.  You could try disconnecting for the USB cable and then power cycling the printer and trying to connect wirelessly.  If you have the desktop connected to a router that also provices wireless capability you could connect the desktop with the network connection.
One other thing you might consider is sharing the printer on your network from the desktop computer.  Next on the laptop computer do the following: go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, Local Printer, Create a Port, Local Port, \\Computername\Printername (use the actual share name for the computer and printer), OK, then select HP (not Hewlett-Packard) for the manufacturer and select the appropriate HP Officejet 6000 series model.

  • Cannot Scan from Scanner

I cannot scan documents from my scanner into Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.3.2.  The process only works once.  Then if I run a repair of Adobe Acrobat, I scan do another scan, and so on.  Just one scan per repair.  The error is "The program can't start because NUVTwain.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."  The scanner works just fine.  I can scan to JPG images repeatedly without a problem.  The issue is only with Adobe Acrobat Pro.  This particular DLL doesn't exist on my system, but as I said, Adobe Acrobat Pro will scan once following a repair.

I don't know whether this will help you or not, but I had scanning problems with Acrobat Standard and got a tip from another forum that worked.  I have to select "custom scan" from the options under "Create PDF from Scanner".  Then, an additional window pops up from the hardware vendor (HP 3015 all-in-one scanner) which gives me other options to change or accept.  Whether or not I change any settings, when I proceed it scans perfectly every time.  Might be worth a try...
