Did you check System Preferences - Trackpad ? Also I'm not sure exactly what 3 fingered swipe are you referring to?

  • Having issues with two-finger swipe and hot corners. Help!

I've lately been having an issue, where my two finger swipe will stop working. I also notice that 3 of my 4 hot corners no longer work, either. The only one that works is the top left. When I restart my computer, or change users, etc, it's fixed for a while, but then the problem will start up again in about an hour.
I've tried the Software Update, and it seems everything is up to date. Any solutions?? I spent a good deal of money on this iMac, and I'm concerned there's something wrong with it.
I have a 27" iMac, which I bought around November 2011. Software is OSX 10.7.5
    Thanks!

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Cannot email photos with iPhone

    Hi.
Every time I try to email a photo I taken with my iPhone, I get the following message: "Cannot Sent Mail. A Cop has been place in your Outbox. The recipient 'Patricia Farrell'" (that's me! I'm not the recipient; I'm the sender!) "was rejected by the server."
I found a suggestion in one of the forums here about changing the settings for the gmail server so the the outgoing server port is 465 (it was 587). I tried that. It still won't work. Same message.
I am able to download the photos on my camera to my desktop. But if the camera on the iPhone has a function that allows one to email the photos, how do I get it to work? You can send photos with all other phones with cameras. Isn't that the point?
    Thanks, Pat

A couple of things to try.
if you have emails in your default email account (gmail), go into your outbox on the iphone and delete those emails.
Now, open settings>general>reset and reset network settings.
Only reset network settings if you know the passwords to any wifi networks you have set up on the iphone.
Once the iphone restarts, try sending a photo again.
Also, if you were connected to wifi when trying to send the photos, try turning wifi off.
To turn wifi off go to settings>wifi and tap on the slider to turn wifi off.
Then try sending a photo again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Cannot sync photos with my iphone

I cannot sync photos from my MacbookPro with my iphone 4s, can anyone explain why and how i solve this problem?
    Thanks,
    19steve57

You connected it with the usb cable? iTunes launched? iPhoto launched?
"I even took it to KRCS and they could not work it out (Apple rep who sold me Macbook Pro not
    interested)."
Don't know who KRCS is but that says alot about not buying Mac products there. Is there an Apple store near you?

  • Cannot see photos with iphoto

I tried to backup my photos with a new drive.  I had them all on an external lacie drive that was full.  I moved the photos and now iphoto cannot see them.  I made a copy on my hard drive but iphoto still cannot seem them.  I opened the package and all the photos are there, thank god.  However, I cannot get them into iphoto for browsing.  Any ideas?  I am running iphoto 08 and 10.6.8.
    Bill

If you don't have a Preferences option under the iPhoto menu then you have a damaged iPhoto preferecne file or a damaged applicaiton.  First make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a viable backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that doesn't help you'll need to reinstall iPhoto. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/  folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally.

  • Cannot scroll up with my mouse

Can anyone give me some tips on how to resolve this problem? I can scroll down using my mouse; but am unable to scroll up. I have disconnected and cleaned carefully; but still cannot scroll up. Any help would be most appreciated. I Mac OS system is 10.6.7.
    Thank you,
    Glenda

Most often this is caused by junk in the mouse ball. The approved method is to use a sheet of white paper, like copy paper, and invert the mouse, press the roller rather firmly down on the paper, and roll it around.

So, I've seemed to solve this problem, in the interm at least.
    1) Open disk utility
    2) Select your HDD
    3) Click "Verify Disk Permissions"
    4) Click "Repair Disk Permissions" (assuming there was an issue)
    5) Once complete, restart your mac
These steps worked for myself, and I've been messing around with both chrome and safari and the two finger scroll hasn't broken yet.

  • Cannot connect photo with file.

I had an additional hard drive installed but have not used it yet,  but now when I go to Adobe Photoshop 10 organize section and click on a photo, it cannot find the file. I have tried the reconnect segment but it still doesn't work.  Each photo has a box with a question mark in it.  What do I have to do?

Please try steps followed on blog: http://psekb.blogspot.in/2013/03/how-do-i-reconnect-missing-files-in.html

What, if any, error(s) do you get when you try (syncing photos : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236) ?
Have you tried deleting the photo cache from your computer and then re-tried the photo sync ? The location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314

  • Application switching with 4 finger swipe

    Hi there-
I switched from Windows around two weeks ago and am loving OSX. Apologies if this is a basic question- I searched but found no similar topic:
When using the 4 finger side swipe to show all open apps, selecting one always switches the menu bar to the appropriate app, but if the app itself is minimized (windows term? hidden?) as opposed to just behind the active window, the app does not come up to the forefront. Is there a setting that will always bring the selected app I am switching to right to the front even if it is hidden? Seems obvious (to me) that if I'm selecting the app I actually want to use it, not just its menus.
    thanks
    Spencer

Mac is a little different than windows in terms of window management. What I think you're doing is minimizing the windows of applications. You can also hide (most apps do so with command-H) applications. Switching apps (either w/ 4 fingers or with command-tab) will unhide apps, but it won't unminimize windows. You can have many windows minimized, and people don't want to have to reminimize windows every time they switch into an app.
