I cannot see any video ( youtube etc ) or anything with video when using firefox 4.0.1. I am using a macbook running mac osx 10.5.2. This has suddenly occured but I can get video on safari 3.0.4 and Chrome so I know its not my laptop. Have not changed any settings recently.

I plugged my usb hard drive in and what looked like time capsule started automatically on my mac. The same hard drive worked perfectly on my laptop pc before, now it connects but isn't visible in my computer.
My second hard drive works perfectly well on both my pc and mac, so I am not sure what has happened to the one in question.

Empty the Safari cache...
Command + Option + E on your keyboard.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try to re position an image on FB.

I bought Quick Time Pro to help edit videos and now cannot SEE any video through my Quick Time Player

I can hear the audio for each video BUT the window for SEEING the videos does not open- it remains "closed" on top of the start/stop/pause controller. HOW can I fix this so I can also see the videos I want to edit?
It worked fine the day I uploaded and began using Quick Time Pro, but has not since that day....

If it is still slow after removing Symantec, you may need a RAM upgrade. Yosemite can run very poorly on older machines with only 4 GB RAM.

Just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8.
Upgrade was uneventful.. went very smoothly.
Problem is now I cannot play any videos in the new Metro Mode (I tried using various apps... Video, youtube player, etc).. not even youtube videos.
However, when I select Desktop mode.. everything still works fine.
Any idea what is wrong ?

Least you are able to watch videos in other mode until you figure out what is best. Good luck frrw. Ounce you have figured out the software purchases you should post it to help others out. My computer is to old for upgrade. No drivers were made for it.

Try clearing the Cache in Firefox.
Tools-> Clear Recent History -> [v] Cache
or Firefox->Preferences->Advanced->Network -> Offline storage -> [Clear Now]
Try clearing the Youtube cookie in Firefox->Preferences->Privacy

Cannot watch any videos from Youtube

I bought a EA3500 router and the setup went fine. I have two computers on the network and both have acces to the Internet. But on one of them which runs Windows 7 and MCAfee Antivirus I cannot watch any videos from Youtube. On the other one which runs Windows XP all videos are running great. I've check the firmware version and it is the last one. I've try to disable the firewall in McAfee and it still does not work. Can someone help me. Thank you Artofmontreal

Are you still on the classic firmware or are you using cisco connect cloud? It might have something to do with the media prioritization. As long as you did not prioritize a certain device or computer over another, the router should allow all devices to stream.

*** may have found a fix ? *** Thanks to your post re: GDI objects I checked task manager ( added column "GDI objects")and saw 700+ whereas working 6.18 was 160 ish Got thinking - what could possibly use that many GDI objects ( firefox only uses a few hundred and it's a platform ) Then it hit me - emoticons ! So in tools/ options/ IM&SMS/ IM Appearance unchecked "show emoticons"and also unchecked "show images and other media previews"restarted Skype and GDI objects now only 164 ( down from 729 )and all other windows are repainting fine and are usable again( my problem was RDP sessions that became unusable, as I work remotely ) To be sure, have rechecked the options and restarted skype and see 700+GDI objects ( goes up from 660 when place call to echo/sound test )and removed them again to get only 164have also rebooted a few times and gone through the whole processof unchecking emoticons, restart, rechecking emoticons, restart to make sure itsnot a fluke. pretty sure this has fixed it for me ( so I now have a working 7.6.0.105 on XP SP3 ),and as your problem "sounds" the same I hope it also works for you. What you posted looks like the iTunes Library.xml file I will let you read about how iTunes works but not only is the .xml not your main library it is just the listing of tracks in your library and where the music files should be located. Your music is actually in media files (by the way, it is pointless to zip those as they are already compressed). Anyway, read these and you will see that your true library file (iTunes Library.itl) is only a small, but still important, part of a complete library.

As you can see, a library has several components, so "getting it back" depends upon what is missing, what it was you actually backed up in the end, if any of this music was purchased from the iTunes Store, etc.

Just to check, in the directory /Library/Internet Plug-Ins do you see the file Flash Player.plugin?
And after reading your last post I have to ask, did you install the plugin after you downloaded it? Of course anwering my first question will answer this question.

Desktop PC.
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, all updates installed.
3. steps you've already taken to troubleshoot
The problem occurs after installing Adobe Flash Player 15 Plugin to any browser (I mainly use FireFox). It's listed as Adobe Flash Player 15 ActiveX when I installed it for Internet Explorer.
Before installing it, I can hear the videos fine but I am limited to a maximum of 720p quality on YouTube.
I removed my sound and graphics drivers, after restart Windows 7 decides it will install them again but as the generic/universal ones. No change.
I've heard that because I have the Windows Aero theme activated, I need to disable hardware acceleration - tried this in various ways:
a) Generic PnP monitor Troubleshoot tab - Change Settings button is greyed out (whether or not I have the real/generic/universal graphics drivers installed). Can't find a way through nVidia control panel to do this either.
b) Disabled hardware acceleration in FireFox - no change.
c) Found on your forum here that I can go to a page which will check my Flash version, in theory I could right-click it, hit Settings and disable hardware acceleration there - no "Settings" option in right-click menu. Seems the page has changed.
I can't seem to find a way to interface with Flash directly to disable hardware accelerattion - if this is indeed the solution.
Regardless of Windows Aero theme, I've got it on basic theme now and still the same problem.
I recently reformatted and re-installed my PC, it was working fine before I did this (maybe I had an old Flash release installed?).
I'm at my wit's end... please help!

Sorry, it's all sorted now. After re-installing the sound drivers, decided to tinker with the settings one by one. I had my Creative sound card in Game Mode, thus it was assuming 2.1 speakers aka headphones. Put it in Entertainment Mode and it recognised all the 5.1 speakers for flash videos. Doh!

Arghhh! A big thank-you to hhps-photo, you just solved the myth bothering me for the last 2 months!
I recently upgraded to Lightroom 5 from 4 and could not import any video. But when I downgrade to LR4 it worked again. I've tried so many other solutions suggested in the forum but none worked including cleaning cache, install divix plugin, install 32 bit version etc. Finally - it's because I blocked LR5 connecitons in my firewall !!!
So simply allowed LR5 internet connection in my firewall settings and LR5 worked like a charm!
