I cannot see my plugins and add-ons. I want to activate one of them.

Can't get rid of ads by Browse to Save and I've disabled all plugins and add-ons
In Firefox, on my FaceBook page and yahoo mail, there are Browse to Save ads everywhere! They are driving me insane. I disabled all add-onos and plugins and the problem remains. I clicked on on the ad and went to browse to save's site where they say they tell you how to uninstall it, but there is no way to uninstall it because it doesn't show up in plugins or add-ons. Help!
'browse to save' goes by a few names apparently-
mine called itself Vaudix (uninstalled it and problem is gone)

Firefos beta 8 version plugins and add-ons not working after install
After Install ghostery will not fuction. Performed a reinstall of ghostery and no luck. In manage Add-ons it says ghostery will be working after restarting the browser but no change. Why? Also completey removed (uninstalled ghostery) then rebooted and reinstalled ghostery and still no change.
Also other add-on are doing the same thing and all are compatible with this version according to the options menu in manage add-onsI just Found out after a hour of disabling and enabling add-ons Firebug was causing my issues of missing add-on buttons and missing add-on not working try disabling it and related Firebug add-ons and restart Firefox to see if everything begins to work

The Firefox button is not available on the Mac, this is due to the way that the Mac handles menus.
For the Mac, to access the add-ons manager, in the Tools menu select Add-ons. -
i have used the plugin updater to update most of my plugins but i have one that i do not wish to update. is there a way to stop getting the plugin manager to pop up every time i open up firefox? i updated all other plugins except adobe reader- which i have adobe acrobat and wish to use that instead but when inside firefox it always uses reader as default so i just chose not to install the update. can i disable the update manager?

When I downloaded the new Firefox about a week or two ago all my bookmarks, and add-ons disappeared and I want you to give them back to me asap?
You shouldn't wait that long to ask advice. Firefox only keeps a (rotating) backup of bookmarks for the last 5 days that you started Firefox. So you may be out of luck.
You can check that you still use your old default profile that had your bookmarks.<br />

If you see disabled extensions that are not compatible on the next start in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the "Find Updates" button to do a compatibility check. -

Not sure how oftenYou should always use beta test versions with a new and separate profile and keep the regular release so you can use that version in case of problems.

Firefox 4.0b1 is the first of the beta test release versions and still has a lot of bugs.
Such releases are meant for testing only so if bugs are found then they can get reported and fixed before the final 4.0 version gets released.
If you do not have experience with such test releases then you are better of with the latest Firefox 3.6.6 release. -

The handle says is all. Totally lost here & in a virtual house of cards. Please first see screen-shot.
I have the Mozilla calendar (Lightening?) program on my computer. Is this screen-shot Thunderbird or is it an add-on called Lightening that was added on to Thunderbird? I don't even recall how I acquired in a few years ago. Whatever it is I find in invaluable. Indispensable. Brilliantly conceived. A superb creation.
Notice that I have several calendars in different colors for different purposes and a long task agenda on the right. Wonderful program!! I absolutely love it! I can not afford to loose these calenders and this data. However, big caveat, entrusting my life (our lives) to it has become extremely dangerous for it's a virtual house of cards upon the purchase of a new computer. The move-over is more like a career most of us already have one. Need anyone really wonder why PC sales are down? Res ipsa loquitur.
FIRST ISSUE:
I must move this/these Mozilla program/s and calendars over to the new computer but I don't have a clue where to begin. What must I download? Thunderbird? What must I add-on? Lightening? Is this a suite of programs? All I care about are my calendars and task agendas that you see in the screen-shot -- not any email programs etc. Just this personal management system that you see.
SECOND ISSUE:
After I downloading, installing, and adding-on what I need, how do I then move (migrate) my profile (data) over to new computer?
Please know that I do know where that 'profile' and its .ics calendar profiles are stored. I am also well backed up. I just need to know how get (downloaded/install) what I need and move this over to the new computer. (See screen-shot)
First, what must I download and install and add on. Second how do I move this data/profile (a virtual Life) over to the new computer without it all coming down like a house of cards?
Please, unless it's all been documented in one location, a link to this and a link to that probably won't be very helpful. Anyone who can lay-out a simple, easy to follow plan (1, 2, 3, 4, done) will be a hero and make a significant contribution to people who dread buying a new computer for precisely these reasons. It will certainly encourage more people to use this absolutely wonderful personal management system. It's the best I've ever seen and I must keep it. But it's soooo risky.Obviously the screen-shot is posted so show what I see now and want to see when I am done. Was the ''really ''not clear? What “the” (singular) of several links (plural) you provided are you talking abut? But no matter. No it was not "all" covered in the multiple links you sent which do not address the more important threshold question (1). The only issue you addressed was (2) data transfer which is secondary to the threshold issue which is ISSUE question one (1). Threshold issue/question presented: before we can go to question (2) we must address question (1).

Please see the screen-shot you claim is not germane? Each of those different colored calendars are (“not stored” in but are) .ics files that are stored in the Profile directory. In the directory c:\Users\myName\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird is a directory or folder called \Profiles and in that directory is a file named 9w2ydrc4.default. That file IS the profile. In that profile is a folder called “calendar-data” and in that folder are the calender .ics files that are the different colored calenders you see in the very germane screen-shot. So I do know where the calendars are. So I gather that all I copy into the Profiles directory is the file (profile) called 9w2ydrc4.default.
Again, as I wrote before, I do not want a full suite with email. So what do I downloaded and install to get only what you see in the screen-shot. I don't think we ever installed a full suite before. I never saw and email program. So, again,'' asked but not answered. ''

Since this contradicts you do tell me: what is your Mozilla authority for claim that I do not need to download and install Lightening because it's already in my profile? I see nothing in my profile that suggests Lightening is there.

My add-ons manager and add-ons bar doesn't work at all
It's not that my add-ons are incompatible with Firefox; they all work fine. It's that, no matter what I seem to do, I can't have a look at them or manage or control them in any way. All that happens when I click on "Add-ons" or "Add-on Bar" is a "New Tab"; it's a completely blank screen with nothing to click on.
I've really been trying to do all I can, but I have no clue what the problem is. It's not any of the add-ons I have; I used the "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" option and disabled Adblock. It's not outdated Java. Is it something from my computer or a pluggin I still need?

Installed 4.0 - Firefox Start Page won't go away - why aren't homepage and add-ons saving?
After installing Firefox 4.0 the Start Page and Welcome to Firefox page returns each time I start Firefox. My homepage and add-ons won't save.
Thank you very much. I reset Firefox and it worked. I knew of MalwareBytes but had no intention of installing it before. I decided to install it anyway now and it even found 3 trojans that my Avira couldn't.
My first instinct was to reset Firefox to it's default state but I was afraid of losing my bookmarks, cookies, site preferences etc. so I didn't even bother. Now that I saw it was my last hope, I saw there is actually a phase between clicking the "Reset Firefox" button and the action being executed. The phase explains what the button will do and asks if you agree. I did not know that and I am really happy I could keep my old stuff.
Thanks a bunch, even if my instincts were right, I wouldn't have bothered to reset Firefox just because I'd be too lazy to get every setting back to how it was.

After rebooting my PC to finish Norton's installation, I opened Firefox and all of my bookmarks and add-ons were gone. My persona was also missing, too. Is there any way to remedy this without having to go through and re-bookmark every page?
I also found an article entitled, "Bookmarks and toolbar buttons not working after upgrading," to which I was redirected after clicking on the link "Configuring Norton 360" from the article "Lost Bookmarks." However, it says that "This article is no longer maintained, so its content might be out of date."Thanks, but I checked iCloud and it has none of them.
If it backed up to my laptop, that died and I just got the new computer. The one that's crashed won't even boot, so there's no way to even tell if it was syncing the contacts along with all the phone photos. Literally happened at the same time - it was because I had the new computer that I was finally able to pull the photos off the phone and make room for the upgrade. It had refused to upgrade for lack of space for some time.
I had thought it was set to sync to iCloud but it vanished from BOTH my phone and the cloud. That's why I'm so angry about it. -
Updated TorBrowserBundle and none of my settings, bookmarks,preferences,and add-ons were migrated to the new version. Have you had trouble with this before? I did not replace my older version, so can I migrate these settings and add-ons like is possible with the bookmarks HTML file export?
We are currently running 10.8.5 with Workgroup manager 10.8 and Server App 2.2.5

You would normally only lose the extensions if you create a new profile folder, either via a reset/refresh or possibly because of problems with the profiles.ini file.
With a reset you would have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

I only lost the extensions. I left the PC on to do a steam download overnight. When I woke up and opened up the browser it was in base mode. All of my tabs, saved data were present. I looked for the Old Firefox Data folder then, but it isn't there. -
Hello. I recently updated numbers on my macbook pro. I like the auto completion feature (proposing te word as I type). With this new update, I cannot see this feature and it doesn't work automatically. Can I have any help on this issue ?
This is really unfortunate. I'm sorry that nothing works. I was going to mention holding down the power button and doing a force shutdown but you already did that. You might need to take it into the Apple store. I don't know if booting into safe mode would help. You would have to turn off the machine again, hit the start button and hold down the shift key after you hear the tone, but normally you would let go of the shift key when you see the apple logo and spining wheel. Maybe by holding down the shift key after you here the tone will cause the screen to come back on? The other option is to start up from the 'install disk' if your machine came with one. You would insert the disk, then shut down the computer, and hold down the C key right after hitting the start button.
