I cannot seem to be able to upgrade my itunes to atleast 4.9 for my IPOD.

For some reason I cannot seem to be able to upgrade my ITUNES for my NANO. Even the disk that came with it does not want to work. It gives me an error message saying, "1607: Unable to install INSTALL SHIELD scripting runtime." I tried to upgrade on this website and it gives me the same message.
Can anyone please help me resolve this issue? I would really like to start downloading some music on my NANO, before I go on vacation.

Then perform a Thorough & Complete Uninstall and Reinstall of iTunes/QuickTime

If you want to guarantee a successful upgrade and be proactive about minimizing potential install issues, do the following:
1. Completely Backup your music and iTunes library files.
2. Virus check / spyware scan your machine.
3. Completely remove / uninstall the current version of iTunes and QuickTime from your system.....
3a. – Do a Stepwise clean uninstallation of iTunes
3b. - Then download and install the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility
.....And make sure iTunes is really gone.
4. Delete the contents of your temp folder: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp
5. Reboot the PC
6. Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
7. Start with the QuickTime standalone installer run from the PC (not directly from on-line)
8. Reboot the PC
9. Turn off all security software such as Norton, McAfee, SpySweepers, any TSRs, etc. (exit via the system tray)
10. First completely download, then run the latest iTunes Installer from your PC
11. Reboot the PC

That is expected. Serial numbers are platform specific. You need to get CS6 and make the platform switch.

I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple.

There is a Game I play on FaceBook on my Mac in Safari but I can't Play it on my iPod Touch, it says in Safari that I have to upgrade and download the adobe Flash Player 10, I am not able to download the Flash Player on my iPod Touch of course but I am able to do so on my computer.

Adobe Flash is not available for the iPod touch so there is no way to install it and play games written in Flash.

As to phone upgrades via your carrier, you would have to talk to your carrier about that. Apple is not a carrier and does not establish upgrade eligibility requirements.

Since I upgraded to Itunes 9 Genius not working for Nirvana

Ever since I upgraded to itunes 9 I haven't been able to use genius for any nirvana music and no nirvana music is being integrated into genius playlists/mixes. Before I upgraded all of my nirvana albums worked fine anyone know what could be causing this? I don't think it would be my song info but I double checked them all and that was fine. I also tried removing and readding them to my library which didn't help. I also tried turning off genius and deleting the itunes library genius.itdb in my itunes folder which didn't help either.

I cannot seem to be able to play videos on YouTube. All I keep getting no matter what video I try to watch is a blank black screen.

I will try to download any updates for QuickTime Player and see if that solves the problem. That is the only thing I can think of at the moment.

In the timed access area, I cannot seem to be able to change the access times, it give me an error. It keeps saying invalid value. - Very frustrating.

Each time I try change the access between times, I get an error. Invalid value. The value for "Timed Access Control" is invalid. The system will only accept the pre-stored times and will not allow me to over write a 9:00 AM with lets say a 10:00 AM. Is there some knack to getting this function to work? I've tried to make the required changes several times and over several days all without success.

Gave up on the access via my Mac Mini, downloaded the App to my IPAD and entered the required times perfectly. Now the system works perfectly.
