I cannot seem to repair my disc. Help!?

I have a Dual-Core Intel Desktop Mac that is running snow leopard. I've run disk utility from the hard drive and it says it needs to be repaired. However, the computer will not take ANY keyboard commands upon startup. I've tried booting off of the disc (by hitting C and separately while hitting option) which doesn't work, I can't boot into safe mode, or single user mode (to use AppleJack). The computer just completely ignores the keyboard commands and boots up normally.
Also, from Restart I get one chime as per normal. However, from a fresh StartUp I get one regular chime and three interrupted chimes. I'm assuming this is warning me about the disc that needs repairing however I'm not sure how to do that without being able to use the keyboard to instruct it to boot up from the disc so I can run disk utilites from it.
Help?

Will wonders never cease... it's always the simplest things that are the problem. It was indeed the keyboard. I'm incredibly glad I had a second one now!
Managed to get in and run applejack and repair the disc. (Although my Mac OS X Snow Leopard Install disk wouldn't load... perhaps it's not a bootable disk?)

Try this...
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

hi, I have 2 apple IDs one for a touch and one for an ipad. I would like to merge the two together but the first ID is connected to an email address I no longer use and cannot access. Does anyone know how I can do this. I get messages on my touch showing my old email address which I cannot alter.

Try changing the password by using the security question answer vice respoonding to an email. See:

When you can access the account yu can then change the email adddress.
I no longer have an email address that was also my Apple ID. Can I still use the email address as my Apple ID?
Apple recommends you change your Apple ID to your current, working email address. This will not create another Apple ID, it will only change it to your working email address. See How to change the name you use for your Apple ID if you'd like more information.
Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs can not be renamed. If you no longer use the .mac or .me email address be sure to add your valid email address as an additional email address.

Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

Yes, this is exactly what the message is. It is in a little box with Thunderbird at the top. The same message appears when I click on the Mizilla/Firefox internet icon, it has Firefox at the top, but same message.

So using them with any other Mac violates the terms of the license & should be avoided. NOOB Question - Cannot seem to get the output in a text or CSV file - Please help!!

I was able to put together a script which finds members of a certain AD group, filters down the users, and then calculates the number of days till a password reset is needed. I am able to get on screen exactly what i am looking for, but cannot seem
to figure out how to get the same data to a file. What i am doing wrong? two goals here:
1. Create a spreadsheet with a list of users whose password is about to expire.
2. Down the line automate an email to users whose password is about to expire.

No matter what i try between the {} after the If statement, I cannot get the output to a file. However, if I use a Write-Output I get exactly what i looking for. I feel like i am forgetting some basic concept and could really use some help. Thanks.

Hi Matt,
I generally create an empty array (something like $out = @()) at the top of the script and then use $out += $desiredOutput inside of the foreach loop.
Outside of the loop, you can then pipe $out to Out-File or Export-Csv, depending on your needs.

Apologies for not replying back sooner - I've been away.
Although your suggestion helped me in getting a copy of Lion that I could use, it didn't help with the restore from Time Capsule issue. I had to download the Lion app onto my MacBook & then transfer it across but it wouldn't let me upgrade my OS for some reason, so I ended up wiping the iMac completely and restoring via my Snow Leopard install disk. For some reason, this time, it let me have the option of using Setup Assistant to access the Time Capsule for a complete restore.
Now, over a week later, with various bits of tweaking and reinstalling some apps that didn't seem to come across, I have my system back.

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

You have one and possibly two problems.
First problem you tried to open the iPhoto library with iTunes and appeared to have set iTunes as the default app for iPhoto Libraries. That isn;t going to work.
To fix that select the iPhoto library in the Finder and do a File->Get Info. In the middle of the Info window you'll see Open With dropbox. Click on that and select iPhoto, then select the Change All button
This will get iPhoto back as the default app to open iPhoto Libraries.
Double click the library now and if nothing else is wrong iPhoto will open the library. If it does do as Michael wrote and go to the Applications folder and drag iPhoto to the dock to remake the shortcut.
However since you started this thread by saying that the iPhoto shortcut in the dock had a question mark on it it is possible that iPhoto is missing from your Applications folder. If it is post back.
