I cannot select an app without it being highlighted by a box and double pressing

The same applies with scrolling through home screens. To do so i must select the dots so they are highlighted and then double press.
I'm really not sure how it's happened but would like to know how to resolve it as i also can't scroll downwards

You have enabled VoiceOver.
To turn it off: Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver>OFF.

They are still attachments, even though you see the embedded version (which can be turned off by rightclicking the embedded attachment and choosing 'View as Icon')

All of my apps are in iTunes AND on my iPod Touch. in iTunes it the checkbox next to sync apps is UNchecked. should i check the box and have to reorganize all my apps or leave it "un-synced"?

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.

I recently activate my apple ID account, and I tried to download Maverick. But, because my account has never being used in the app store I have to put an credit card number, which I don't have. I'd like to know if is possible to avoid this step and be able to download Maverick.

On my ipod touch 5th version i cannot open an app without a tab asking for my apple id password popping up. I cannot close the app until i hit cancel and i do not want to put my password in because i do not want to pay for anything.

Why not enter you password? Just do "purchase" any paid apps.

I am asking if there is any way you could please refund my money to my debit card on file for the purchase of this application. I downloaded the software I needed for my MacBook Air and it still does not work. My stystem crashed and I had to uninstall or delete the software on my computer and on my phone. No need to post your billing info here. This is a public forum. In any case, have you tried to check with the developer for support to get it going first? What do you have to lose.

I cannot delete unwanted app from my iPhone 5. They wiggle and show the X but when I press the X it grays our but will not delete or go back to the home page when I press the home button

The icons wiggle and show the x but they will not delete when I press the X. Also the home button will not cancel the action.

Try doing a hard reset: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
After this, try again to delete the app.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.

Using his article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!

How to use your Apple Id account on mac apps without a credit card?

I'm quite new with this whole apple business as I've never used Apple products before. But now that i got a new macbook, the mac app store says I have an update for my iPhoto. I want to download the update using my newly created Apple ID but I do not own a credit card (and certainly I do not plan to own any until much later anyways). It says I have to fill in all the boxes asking for my creadit card information thus I cannot continue to downloading without filling those credit card info boxes first. So, any suggestions?

Sorry, but you must have a credit card, or debit card to make iTunes/ App store purchases, even if they are free. This is due to the fact it is online.

Change your payment information to none on your iphone, goto settings > store , tap on your apple ID , tap view account , tap payment type , change to none.
This is all provided that you don't owe itunes any monies, if so then attach a credit card or itunes gift card and pay your arrears.
Free app or paid app, you will not be able to use your apple id until you settle one of the above.
