TS3899 Just updated to 7.0.6. Cannot Select multiple emails to move/delete.
Just updated to 7.06. Cannot Select multiple emails to move/delete. I select Edit in any mailbox, trash or sent, then select one email to delete/move, after a few seconds, the email automatically 'unselects' the move and delete buttons deactivate, but the top status bar still has '1 selected'.
If i try to select multiple emails I get to the 3rd or 4th one and then they all auto unselect.
My Ipad without the update works fine. My daughters iphone 5 has the same issue and she just updated.I have no problem selecting multiple emails on iOS 7.0.6
Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost. -
Trackpad will click and select but will not move cursor
After breaking the trackpad in my early 2008 MBP I replaced it.
Upon startup the trackpad will click and select but will not move cursor... I have tried all system resets short of wiping and reinstalling OS.
Any suggestions?Because the click has to deal with a physical button press while the movement has to deal with the trackpad detecting the movement of your finger on it.
Just for giggles, if you hold down the Option key on bootup and get to the boot menu on it, does the mouse work then? If so, then it's an OS issue (could be a setting or some .plist that's jacked up. -
HT2646 Apple TV will not let me select my language during initial set up
Apple TV will not allow me to select my language during the initial set up. It simply stays on the initial first page saying I can select my language. Unfortunately, every time I hit "select" on the remote, it will not recognize that I am trying to select my language (English). Therefore I cannot get to any of remaining set up.

Check you are using the correct location in the Apple TV store settings.
Try changing a few details and changing them back before updating when you verify in iTunes, also check that your details are correct (ie that you have filled the state field out properly and so on)
Rentals don't just show up on the Apple TV when you have rented then on your mac/PC,you need to transfer them.

Trackpad will not select anything but does move cursor.
My trackpad for my MacBookPro (10.5.8) suddenly stopped selecting anything. I hear the clicking sound when I press the pad. My mouse works with no problem. I have rebooted a number of times and checked looked the settings in my trackpaf Preferences but didn't change anything. I never really knew there were trackpad preferences until today when I was trying to troubleshoot this problem.
The following was suggested on another thread but I've tried it & it doesn't solve the issue:
System Preferences > Trackpad > Point & Click
Tap to click
Secondary click
Uncheck the boxes to it if they are checked and recheck them back.
Any other ideas? -
I have a 27" desktop mac running with OSX 10.6.8. The bluetooth keyboard started not typing when some of the keys are pressed. Plugged in a wired keyboard, started doing the same thing. When opening up a browser or application, the cursor moves but cannot select anything. Suggestions?

Non-responsive Screen - can move cursor, but cannot select
MacBook Pro, OSX 10.10, cannot select or click on anything.
Mouse or touch screen will move the cursor, but it's like the screen is frozen.
Message on screen is "carbon coy cloner interrupted logout. Cancel or Try Again."
Control right arrow moves to next desktop (there are five). Cursor stays in same place on the screen.
Removed HDMI connection to external monitor, and rebooted, but cannot click on login in names.
Can move to different login persons using arrow keys.
Pressing Return brings up login password box. typed in password. Login successful.
Using control-Left Arrow will slide over a different desktop. In the first desktop, the there is an open TextEdit document into which I can type successfully.
But I cannot move the document, or save it.
What's happening?This has happened to me at least a half dozen times since I updated to 10.2.2 yesterday morning. Each time I have restarted using the power button. Basically, the same as you are seeing. The mouse moves but when I try to click to select, nothing happens. I can't even get the dock to pop up.

Cannot select and move in mountain lion
I am running 10.8.4 on an early 2009 15'' MBP, and I have been having issues where I cannot select an object (file or folder) and move it. This is affecting my other programs, for example, i find that I cannot select and move cursor in Maya.
Not sure why, has anyone seen this before? and can I fix it somehow? I tried restarting my computer multiple times but the problem presists.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The following procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed. Don’t be alarmed by the complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out and won’t change anything on your Mac.
These steps are to be taken while booted in “normal” mode, not in safe mode. If you’re now running in safe mode, reboot as usual before continuing.
Below are instructions to enter some UNIX shell commands. The commands are harmless, but they must be entered exactly as given in order to work. If you have doubts about the safety of the procedure suggested here, search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects.
Some of the commands will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but each one is really just a single line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it. The headings “Step 1” and so on are not part of the commands.
Note: If you have more than one user account, Step 2 must be taken as an administrator. Ordinarily that would be the user created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. The other steps should be taken as the user who has the problem, if different. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.

Note: If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before taking this step. If that’s not possible, skip to the next step.

After placing a new text box in my document, typing new text, clicking away, then coming back to edit the text, I am unable to get my cursor to reappear within that text box. I can only select the box itself. I cannot select the text. Where is my cursor?
Even simpler than that.
Clicking once in a text box selects it.
Clicking once in a selected text box places the insertion point in the box.
The clicks do not need to be close enough in time to be read as a double click.
The same behaviour applies to table cells in Pages and in Numbers.

Hi,
While installing XQuatrz-2.7.7, the installation blocks at the "destination" level. It asks how to install this soft, "Install for all users" is shadowed, but frozen: i cannot select anything and move on. Any idea how to get that fixed?

I put an object and/or a text box on a page and then cannot select it - the Text cursor (not pointer, just the text cursor shows) is put on the object or text box and nothing happens. It is so frustrating! I then open up Everweb and the same thing, I create an object and then try and elect it to make it bigger etc and cannot. I know it must be something system wide as it happens in apps other than Pages.

Cannot select a music into slideshow and book slideshow presentations. In the older Mac this was easy. With new Mac OS X 10.6.8 it should work as I can stop the slideshow with cursor but pop up window for choosing music is dead. I cannot drag music into it. Preselected music just goes on.
I am talking about iPhoto. In my old Mac even in Books choosing slideshow gives a pop up where you can select a music from I tunes library. In this new one I can stop the slideshow with cursor and it shows music option but it is, as I said dead. Does not response at all to commands.

I cannot select a particular state in Fireworks CS6 !
So I've duplicate a state , and after that I tried to change some filters on the newly state , but when I did that it affected the first state too . The problem is that I cannot select a particular state !
Please ,help !I believe this is caused by you working in the background only. You must work in layers for states to be different. Examine my version (in one state I copied the map to a layer, and applied a gaussian blur). Notice that switching to the other state removes that layer, and only displays the background.
