I recently changed my aol password and right after I changed, I cannot get mail. I get a a pop up block that says, Cannot Get Mail, the user name or password for AOL is incorrect, settings, OK. It sounds like you might need to contact Yahoo! if you aren't able to setup your email account as a new account after deleting it.

I have been trying to download iOS 6.1 on my ipad. After its been downloading for about 4 hours, I receive a message that there is an error and cannot download. How can I delete this download from my settings? I tried downloading other apps, but it will not let me unless I download iOS 6.1

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

My iphone 4s keeps overheating and will not let me go on any of my apps as well as send any messages. plus my contract isn't up for another 6 months, what can i do?
RESOLVED!!! I logged on to my Straight Talk online account, and did a Tech Chat. They immediately gave me a direct phone number and a Reference PIN number and asked me to contact their iPhone specialty support. I called (of course the gentleman's accent was very difficult for me to understand, but managed with asking continually for clarity). He walked me through several tests, setting changes and had me get on my wifi to obtain the latest APN settings. None of his efforts worked ad it was obviously NOT my Straight Talk iPhone 5, 64GB CDMA (no SIM) - it was something with their setting on their end on my account. I was placed on hold a few times and he would come back on to have me try to get on Safari and even Google... after the 3rd on-hold, he returned and asked me to try to use my data again without the wifi turned on and BINGO it worked... I still do not have my wifi turned on and I'm still receiving texts from YESTERDAY too while I was away from wifi service. IF you come across this issue - please call Straight Talk and/or log on to your Straight Talk online account and talk to an online customer service representative and get their direct line phone number for iPhone support and have your Reference PIN number available. Ios 7 upgrade will not let me send text to certain mobile numbers. Apple allows you to create your own custom label for a phone number. In my case, I have a number of landline and mobile numbers connected to a business that I call constantly. There are a number of businesses set up this way in my Iphone. I have changed the name of the contacts in these businesses, be it landline or mobile. But now it seems that I cannot send a text to Mobiles that I have changed the name of, from MOBILE to the persons name. Even changing it to the persons name and then mobile beside it .
Anyone got any way around this
JonHi Just got home and am sending you a screenshot of one f the contacts in my Ipone 4s with the ios 7 upgrade. Ive deleted a few of the numbers but you can see there are two of the mobiles on there. One has a persons name and one is just called mobile.
the one with the persons name no longer has the text box beside it which would normally allow me to text that person.
I did edit this contact and changed it back to "Mobile". I was then able to send a text as the text box was available for use -

Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:

If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts. -

I'd give these troubleshooting steps a try, they're for when your iPad appears frozen or unresponsive:
If the device is unresponsive or certain controls aren't working as expected, try restarting
To turn off the device, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off the device.
To turn on the device, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), try resetting
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.

I want to add new songs to my ipod. When I set it up with itunes years ago I had a different computer that I no longer have. Now it will not let me add new songs to my ipod shuffle without erasing everything that is already on it. Help!!! Is there any way around this?
Yes, I was aware of this but the phrase "Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library." is what worries me. Will this eliminate my Notes, Calendar Events, etc or will it apply mostly just to the music?

Apple is aware of the issue and is workingon an update to address iMessage issues.
In the meantime I have found that a good old fashion reset cures it for a while.
Reset: Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons and don’t let go until the screen goes dark and the Apple logo appears (no data will be lost)
Others have had success with this:
1. Turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages
2. Reset networking settings in Settings > General > Reset
3. Reenable iMessage in Settings > Messages
Note: This will clear all wifi passwords. -
I did not do my research before changing my Apple ID from an outdated email address to a current one. I just changed and verified and though I was all set. WRONG! Now I cannot sign in to iCloud because it will not let me enter the new Apple ID. I read the 10/30/13 randers4 post to just change your Apple ID back then sign in and change it to the new email address again and then you can sign in, but I cannot change back to the prior email address Apple ID because that is no longer an active email account (or at least not mine). Any thoughts on how to get signed into iCloud when it does not allow me to type in the new Apple ID and the old Apple ID no longer exists.
I see that many people have asked, but no one has come up with a solution that I found.
Thanks for any help!This did not work for me. My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook. I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up. I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

Your email provider has blocked the standard mail port 25 for sending emails and is requiring a different port. This is to avoid mail relays that use mail clients to send spam. You need to find the port that is used by your provider for sending outgoing mail. Then change the settings in your email account on your phone to match the port. You will also have to provide some security credentials for the account.
You can also try deleting the email account from your iphone, and the adding the email account back as this will many times set the correct port for sending emails.
You could also do a Google search on the the settings for your device with your email provider. That will provide you with the proper settings. -

Homescreen icon not updating since 1.1.3
When I get a new email and the homescreen icon shows a "1" in the circle, after I read the email, the homescreen icon still shows the 1. It does not update until I restart the iPhone. I'm using gmail set as IMAP and have had no other issues prior to
