Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.  I have deleted account and reinstalled.

Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

First check to make sure you have data turned on and not just Wi-Fi. From reading your question you seem to be saying e mail is working just not attached photos. What size are the photos as some HD photos can't be sent. Your camera may be set at a very high picture size and you can go to settings and lower the size and that may solve your mailing problem.

  • Cannot send emails with supplements anymore

all of a sudden I cannot connect supplements to an email

    You have mentioned two issues:
    # cannot connect supplements to an email
    * Open a new Write message
    * click in the compose area
    * click on 'Attach' > 'File'
    * Locate file and click on Open
then what happens? does it show as an attachment in the top right of email?
Can you see 'Attach' in the toolbar or is the toolbar missing?
    2. cannot send emails with supplements
Is this because you canot attach the file in the first place?
If you can attach an attachment flle and you select to send, what happens?
do you get an error message? If yes, what does it say word for word.
Is the file too big, what size are you talking about?

  • Cannot send email with Mail app-..can't connect to AOL server anymore??

Up until today my MAIL app in my iMac let me use an email address that is from the AOL.com group (netscape.net)…I cannot send emails now because I can't get the computer to connect to the server. My iPad will….but not the desktop. I tried using a different server name; smtp.nestcape.net, which is the one I used in the iPad…but the iMac won't let me change it to that one..so back to the old smtp.aol.com……Still my MAIL app is not recognizing this or letting me connect!?!. I tried creating a new password at the wedpage of that email account.. successfully..but it has made no difference. I am stumped and have wasted half the day trying to deal with this. Anyone else have such an experience? HELP…PLEASE!

Thank you Eric for sending the links. Fortunately after I wrote this post…I don't know what happened but I filled in my mail preference settings for the umteenth time with my new email password and voila! It worked. For some reason however…now when I open the Mail App I do still get a prompt asking me if I want to use this server….and it is, of course, the one and only I have listed.!?!?! The thing that irritates me…is…that I had done NOTHING to cause a problem to begin with. I think my email account at aol (nestcape) may have been hacked and my password stolen or compromised in some way??...and perhaps that caused a glitch in my mail app??? I am no techy, but I should have started out with my intuition and changed the password first before going mental….When something like this happens it makes one feel so vulnerable.…I usually feel well secured with my lone iMac and now my new iPad…ANYWAY…thank tyou  for addressing my issue and I have bookmarked those links…for future reference which I hope I never need. Hey..is that your kitty??? She is beeeooootiful!
Take care and again, thanx~ D

  • Cannot send email with any of my accounts on Mail 5.2

I have a Mac Book Pro
    Mac Os X 10.7.4
    Mail 5.2
I have many diferent email accounts (gmail, hotmail, prodigy.net.mx, etc)
Some are POP, some are IMAP
I have another computer, an iMac with older system and older Mail app. and used same setup for all accounts
I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails on any of the accounts. I have quadruple checked all settings and all seems to be ok.
All smtp connections appear as not connected, yet different servers, or email suppliers, this makes me suspect something else is wrong.
Any ideas? Help would be appreciated.

Just FYI, I've had the same problem for months now. I have been accessing my hotmail via the web, but decided to try the OS X Mail app.  I could get emails into the account with no problem but couldn't send.  I read all the blog and support entries and have tried everything they recommended, like changing my computer name to one word, without success.  Then last night, it just so happened that my broadband provider had to change out my wireless modem.  As soon as he plugged in the new one, some emails that had been in my outbasket for a month went through instantly and all of a sudden my Mail, both incoming and outgoing now work.  So I think people need to look at their router settings for the a solution to the problem.

  • Cannot send email on iMac OS 10.8.5, but can receive email fine

    Hi there,
I cannot send email (SMTP) from my iMac OS 10.8.5, email version 6.6
I have checked all the settings and they are exactly the same as my MacBook Pro OS 10.8.5, email version 6.6
Email works absolutely fine on MacBook Pro (POP and SMTP) but only incoming (POP) works on my MacBook and not the outgoing (SMTP)
    Any ideas?
I have deleted all email accounts and set them up again, but that hasn't worked. I've tried changing ports per instruction sfrom godaddy (who hosts my email), but no luck.
As I said, all settings are the same as the MacBook Pro which works fine.
This is driving me insane, so any help would be most welcomed please.
    Many thanks,
    Lisa

It is also refusing to send from a gmail account as well. But here's the original POP account I am most concerned about:

  • Cannot send Email with Mail since updated to 10.7.2, they stay in my Send Box...

Since I updated, I cannot send Email through Mail, it works with Thunderbird though.

  • Cannot send email with new ios5 on iphone 4

my email can recieve but cannot send ever since I downloaded ios5 the other day, please help.

Do you have a wi-fi network at home with Comcast as your internet service provider there?
If so, any problems sending with the account when connected to your wi-fi network at home, is is this a problem when connected to the internet via your carrier's cellular network?
I don't believe Comcast has an authenticated SMTP server and if not, you will not be able to send with the account unless you are connected to the internet with Comcast via an available wi-fi network.
Who is your carrier? If AT&T, ATT's SMTP server is available on the iPhone to select for an account when connected to ATT's network if the account does not have an authenticated SMTP server. If turned on as a seconday SMTP server, if Comcast's SMTP server can't send email when connected to ATT's network, ATT's SMTP server should be used automatically.

  • Cannot send email with Yahoo! on iPhone

Since last evening (3rd May), I've been having intermittent issues sending email through my Yahoo! mail account. Common symptoms include a pop-up window stating:
    Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com" failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Typically, this is followed by the message being place in the Outbox.
Sometimes, the message actually does go out when the iPhone says that is could not send the message.
At others, after a very long period of time, the "swoosh" sound tells me that a message was sent.
This is a new symptom and I have not changed my mail settings at all. I have tried deleting my mail account and re-adding the same, but no help. I've tried sending email from another iPhone, same issue. I've also verified that this is not isolated to my account, since my wife was complaining about the same symptom on her phone using her Yahoo! email account.
Thanks in advance for any advise/help!
    Kersi

Partially. Apple support recommended that I enable "push" for this account. This fixed the problemvery nicely, but it was a HUGE hog on the device battery! I've since then disabled the "push" option for my account and Yahoo! mail seems to be still OK, although it does seem to take a little longer than expected to send even small emails.

We have a Palm Treo Pro that was previously configured to sync with exchange 2003 and at the same time also had an IMAP email account setup for another email address.  We have since removed the Exchange email account and only have the IMAP account configured.  Since removing the exchange account we can no longer send email from the phone, but can receive fine.  The error we get when trying to send is listed below.
"The message(s) could not be sent.  Check that you have network coverage and that you account information is correct then try sending again"
The connection is fine because we can receive email and browse fine.  The account information is also correct.  We are using the SMTP server settings for the phones provider and that requires no authentication.  I have also tried a different SMTP server with the appropriate user credentials but still get that message.
I have contacted the phone provider (Telstra) but they were no use.
We did have to load on a self signed certificate to get the exchange email working and I dont know whether this is causing any issues.
If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated

Maybe this will help. If you monitor the "More Like This" box, other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads.

  • Cannot send email with new 3G iphone

    Hi.
I bought a 3G phone about one week ago. I had owned a first generation iphone before this. On my new phone, everything seems to work, except I am unable to send email. I get either the message "the user name or password for "SMTP:[email protected]" is incorrect.
I entered the same user name and password as on my incoming settings, just 30 minutes ago. (incoming has worked well).
Prior to my entry of this user name and password, (since receiving this phone) I received an error message that the sender address was not recognized.
I have read through several discussions and forums, but still am unable to correct this problem.
    Can you help?

    Hi PRuth,
Most email accounts issued by Internet Service Providers are only going to be able to send emails when connected to the Internet over their network connection. So, if the iPhone is connected to the Internet over the 3G network or another network connection that is not owned by the ISP, it will not be able to send emails. More detailed information and tips available here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1426
You can try enabling an alternate server, go to Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars, tap the account> Tap the outgoing mail server> turn on the alternate AT&T servers, which can be used when connecting to the Internet over 3G or EDGE.

  • Cannot send email with 4s

im having major issues trying to send email from my new 4S, using my Mobile Me email. Receiving is fine, but sending doesnt work, I have to keep fixing the outgoing server, to smtp.me.com, and adding my  user name and password.
    What am i doing wrong?
    thanks

Sounds like the SMTP server settings to me then.
Look In Settings : Mail, Contacts, Calendars and into the account designated for mail. From there you should be able to review the incoming settings (either for POP3 or IMAP) and at the bottom will be the outgoing mail server settings. Check to see if those are all correct and if iOS is saying they all check out (if memory serves me correctly it will check the settings before letting you proceed).
