I've noticed that this only happens when one or more of the recipients I enter has an iphone and at least one of the others does not. The system seems to fail when it tries to send an SMS text message and an iMessage. The frustrating thing is that I don't get a chance to try to just send all as SMS texts instead.
The only way I found to get around this problem is to make sure that I send to two separate groups, one group with iPhones and another without. Two separate messages isn't ideal, and searching for who has an iphone and who doesn't is a pain, but... until they fix it, I'm afraid this is our only option.

Cannot send group texts/messages or voice texts.

I just bought my iPhone 6 Plus on December 27. Starting today for some reason, I cannot send group texts (iMessages or SMS texts) or voice texts. Please advise.

This doesn't really help me as much; I know how to send texts, and I am able to do so to individuals. It's just that I can't get group texts to go through. I have service and am sending to both iPhone users and non-iPhone users. Interestingly enough, a moment ago a particularly long text I tried to send to an individual non-iPhone user was not delivered. Does anyone know if there is some lingering issue with messaging on the iPhone 6 Plus? I have the latest iOS software update.

Ask your phone carrier why you can't send a group text.

My iPhone 6 Cannot recieve or send group text messages

My iphone 6 cannot send or receive group texts. It was able to send and receive grout texts until the IOS 8.0.2 upgrade. A few texts from throughout the day did come in randomly in the middle of the night, but no other explanation. I have cycled both on and off the imessage and sms message feature while resetting the network settings. This accomplished nothing. This is becoming rather frustrating with all ese different issues.

I've been seeing similar issues. Are you on T-Mobile, and did you turn on Wifi Calling? I found that once I turn that option on, I was not able to send group texts. Turning it off, and then Reset Network Settings would allow me to send group texts again. This of course, is not an ideal situation.

I cannot send out text messages

I cannot send out text messages - I can receive them - cannot send them to a contact.
This contact has a multiple contacts ranging from gmail to facebook. I deleted all the contacts and now the contact can receive my text messages.
I noticed a small x in a circle to the right of the contact's name. A red x in a circle would appear and say my text messages not sent. I would resend - nothing changed.
Does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix the contact so I can text without getting these messages.
The contact is not blocking me by the way - it is my spouse LOL

Please try deleting all text messages from this person and resend. Do you have a signature on your outgoing text messages? If so please remove the signature and retry. If these don't work please PM me and we will further troubleshoot this issue.

deref, Group messaging is a great way to keep everyone in touch. I use them quite frequently. When you send a group message the replies will be sent to everyone. You can send them individually so people cannot see the replies. Unable to send Group text from Nokia Lumia 520

I am unable to send Group text from lumia 520, even after enabling the Group text option in the messaging settings.

I also need to send group msg to about 100 people which was possible in Symbian, but in Lumia group limit is 25 (how ridiculous!)
Now I have made several groups of 25 & send few mgs.
But what I don't like is, group sms are shown in different thread, so when someone replies, his thread doesn't show the group msg so I can't make out to which msg I am getting reply.
Earlier Symbian used to send group msg as individual sms so replies used to show all sms, sent & received. Symbian system was better for me.
Using Nokia Lumia 1320.
Also have Nokia E72 & Nokia N8.

Which implies you are using iMessage and not SMS as SMS does not work over Wi-Fi.

A wet phone is out of warranty. This is considered user damage. Even if you were able to get it to start now, the chances of it working for long are slim. I suggest going to Apple and see about an OOW replacement. One for the iPhone 4 is only $149USD and it would come with a short warranty. It is a refurbished device and you would not be worried about encountering additional problems.
