I cannot send mp4 files (1-3mb) through gmail. i can with chrome. why?

I cannot send any video files (mp4) even though they are small in size (1-4mb). I try to send them through my gmail account.
In the past i could, and there was no problem. The problem is recent.
Any help, any ideas to solve this?
Thanks
George S.

Try uploading when in Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|Firefox Safe Mode]] is a troubleshooting mode that turns off some settings, disables most add-ons (extensions and themes).
If Firefox is open, you can restart in Firefox Safe Mode from the Help menu:
*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click Help [[Image:Help-29]] and select ''Restart with Add-ons Disabled''.
If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Safe Mode as follows:
* On Windows: Hold the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "Start in Safe Mode".<br>

'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]] article to find the cause. You can try disabling hardware acceleration as well to see if that might be causing it - though I would be surprised if that would affect this.

    As you speak to "sending" a file you'd be using  one of Adobe's online subscription services.
    The "umbrella" user forum for this is at:
    https://forums.adobe.com/community/acrobatdotcom
    Of course a paid subscription is required.
    Note that accessing the online service of interest through Adobe Reader can be bumpy sometimes.
    Best is to just go to online and have your browser take you to the service.
    A starting point:

    Select your service and then sign in.

    I cannot send an email from my iPad 2? No problem receiving, why does this happen? Have tried the suggestions for setting up email and after doing the sync mail through iTunes receiving worked great but still cannot send? Any help would be great!

    The fact that you can receive means you have a valid e mail address, and have established the connection to the incoming server, so all of that works.  Since the send does not work, that means your outgoing server is rejecting whatever settings you used formthe outgoing set up.  Try them again.
    Google your particular isp, and ipad and many times you will find the exact settings needed for your isp.  Or tell us here, and soneone else may be on the same isp.  Some mail services need you to change a port, or have a unique name for the outgoing server.
    Kep trying.

    Hi,
    I am sorry to tell you that there is no such functionality. But of course, you could send URLs to the document locations via smartSync.

    please help!!!!!! i filled out a job application using adobe reader but i cannot send the file back via email because the file is protected with a lock. how do i unlock this file to send it?!!!!!!!!!

    Hi kevinv1987,
    It doesn't sound like the PDF was password protected (or Adobe Reader would prompt you for a password). Instead, it sounds like that file may be marked locked by your operating system. Are you on Mac OS or Windows? In either case, here are instructions for removing the lock icon from the file:
    Remove the Lock Icon from a Folder in Windows 7 (check Microsoft's website if you have a different version of Windows)
    On Mac OS, select the file in the Finder, and choose File > Get Info. Then, just deselect the Lock checkbox.
    Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara

    Not sure about yahoo, but for gmail, I done the following:
    Set up using Exchange on iPhone, it'll keep prompting for password.  On PC use captcha option, log in to gmail account from PC after completingg captcha option, enter password on iPhone.
    See how that goes for gmail, let us know.
    Hopefully someone will have fix for yahoo.

  • Cannot upload some files to Dropbox through browser UI

    I love and defend Firefox but I have to admit that it is giving me some grief lately. I run a Dropbox account which I access through the browser and its UI allows for drag and drop file uploads as well as more 'conventional' file uploading. In recent days I find certain file uploads are OK via Firefox (such as a 1mb PDF) but I cannot upload for instance a 30mb MP3 or a ZIP file - it tries but ultimately fails. A small 500kb MP3 is fine so it seems to be a file size rather than file type issue (there is a Dropbox limitation on file size but I am way below that). Also when using Firefox with the same Dropbox UI, I get odd errors like 'folder does not exist' even when I am not trying to access a folder or 'there was a problem completing the request' when trying to access a folder, even when it then allows access. I have raised all this with Dropbox forum and I am advised it is a browser problem (they would say that right?). However, I have control-tested using Safari and IE, etc, and I cannot replicate any of the problems. Uploads of large files (the exact same files) are fine in those browsers, no odd errors while testing. I was using Fx V 22x on Win7 x64 Pro but today got a push notification to update to Fx v23.0.1 which I have done, but still these problems persist. My plugins were few, long installed, and sound (Tabmix Plus, Firebug, FireFTP, etc) and not conflicted or out of date. Java was not enabled in the browser. However, to further control test, I have just done a Firefox RESET from the help menu and tried again without any plugins running. Same problem with larger file upload. It seems Firefox is having some issues doing things that other browsers are fine about...

    I have suffered from this during the past three days.
    Firefox 23.0, Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu canonical - 1.0
    on a 32-bit Ubuntu PC. So the system couldn't be more different.
    I was trying to upload .MP3 files of 27MB. From about a dozen attempts with one file, no success whatever. On the other hand a different file worked first time. But a later attempt with a 14 MB .wav failed, so it's not related to the file.
    On the other hand an upload with Chrome worked perfectly. So it does look like a browser problem.
    Watching the system monitor during upload, it runs freely for about 9MB, then stops abruptly. At the same time, the message at the bottom left of the browser window, relating to dl-web.dropbox, disappears.
    The text of the message differed between Firefox & Chrome, but I imagine that's just a textual, rather than a functional, difference.

  • I can sync, but cannot send bluetooth files.

    Sorry! I put this under bluetooth keyboard/mouse, it was meant for the general bluetooth forum. Sorry, again.
    *Hi, I need help regarding my macbook's bluetooth. It will connect and recognize (sync) with my blackberry 8320 and other MacBooks, but it won't let me send files from my computer to them.*
    *More specifically, I can bluetooth my blackberry's addressbook to my mac's addressbook, but CANNOT send a word document to my friend's Macbook. When I click the "send file" option under the bluetooth icon options in the top right hand corner of my mac.... a little "wisp" of a program that looks like it is trying to appear shows up. It looks like a program was supposed to open on my dock because a space for it is made, but it wasn't able to, and the space closes up again and nothing has happened.*
    *I hope that this information helps someone who can in turn help me with my problem. Do I need an update or do I just need to uninstall and reinstall the whole bluetooth program?*
    *I've already tried to update my bluetooth, but the same "wisp" shows up on my dock and nothing happens.*
    *Please help! Thanks!*

    You can't download and install Bluetooth separately - it's part of the OS.
    Just a thought... Have you ever sent a file to another computer via Bluetooth before?
    I've got a vague memory reading that the ability to Bluetooth files between two Macs (not between a Mac and a handheld device), may only be present in Mac OS X 10.5.x
    BTW, wouldn't it be quicker to just email the file?

  • Send pdf file to workflow through web dynpro.

    Hi All,
    I have a web dynpro component, with this component i am raising a request, which will go to multiple level of approvals(for this triggering workflow from web dynpro).
    Now i want to send a pdf file as an attachment to approvers work items.
    For this i have used File Upload UI element, and i have binded data property of this upload UI element with an attribute of type Xstring.
    Now can you please help me to send this file to workflow.
    I am able to send a pdf file as an attachment through executable report (SE38), but same functionality is not working from web dynpro.
    Code used in executable report is as below:
    DATA: t_data_tab TYPE TABLE OF x255,
    bin_size TYPE i,
    buffer_x TYPE xstring,
    buffer_zip TYPE xstring,
    filename TYPE string VALUE 'C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\Downloads\IT.pdf'.

    CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_BINARY_TO_XSTRING'
      EXPORTING
        input_length = bin_size
      IMPORTING
        buffer       = buffer_x
      TABLES
        binary_tab   = t_data_tab.
    IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
            WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
    ENDIF.
    ZSWR_ATT_HEADER-FILE_TYPE = 'B'.
    ZSWR_ATT_HEADER-FILE_NAME = 'FORM-407'.
    ZSWR_ATT_HEADER-FILE_EXTENSION = 'PDF'.
    ZSWR_ATT_HEADER-LANGUAGE = 'EN'.
    WORKITEMID = '000000401208'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SAP_WAPI_ATTACHMENT_ADD'
      EXPORTING
        WORKITEM_ID          = WORKITEMID
        ATT_HEADER           = ZSWR_ATT_HEADER
      ATT_TXT              =
        ATT_BIN              = buffer_x
       DOCUMENT_OWNER       = SY-UNAME
       LANGUAGE             = SY-LANGU
       DO_COMMIT            = 'X'

      RETURN_CODE          =
       ATT_ID               = ZSWR_ATT_ID
    TABLES
      MESSAGE_LINES        = SWR_MESSAG
    *MESSAGE_STRUCT       =
    if sy-subrc = 0.
    else.
    endif.
    But function "GUI_UPLOAD" is not working in web dynpro.
    Regards,
    Amar

    HI,
    Try out this code :
    FileInputStream is = new FileInputStream(file);
          long length = file.length();
          byte[] bytes = new byte[(int)length];
          long bytesRead = is.read(bytes);
          if (bytesRead < length)
           throw new IOException("Could not completely read file "+file.getName());
          is.close();
    element.setDocumentContent(bytes);
    Create a context attribute of binary type and assign the read data to it and bind the dataSource property of your File Upload and Download properties to this context Attribute.
    Regards
    Sid
