I cannot send or receive SMS text messages and my number is not showing up in the 'Recieve At' location..how do I fix this?
I just bought and activated a new Iphone 4s and I cannot send or receive normal SMS text messages. Also, my number is not showing up in the "receive at" location. Any help??
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Beyond that... since you state you've tried all "recommended fixes" have you actually restored as new and not from your backup?

Wow, 1yerdua. That's far too long to be having this messaging trouble. We want to find the resolution fast! If you turn off your Lumia's WiFi (Menu > Settings > WiFi), are you still able to access data-oriented applications like Internet Explorer? Have you been to other areas of the state/country and experienced the same trouble?

Cannot send or receive sms text or phone calls
I have a storm2 9550 unlocked and am using Tmobile Pay as you go. I have tried several times to disable the password, mostly by wiping the phone. Now i cannot make a call or receive a call or send or receive a text. On the phone calls I get a busy signal and an error message SMS error 97 message ID 40. Any help would be appreciated.

To correct this issue you would need to remove the IT policy from your BlackBerry smartphone.
To do this we would need to back up the BlackBerry smartphone. Please open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and connect your BlackBerry smartphone. Click on the Backup and Restore button and select Back Up. Please note the location where the backup is being saved as we will need to access it later to restore the BlackBerry smartphone.
Once you have backed up your BlackBerry smartphone please follow the link below to remove the IT policy from your BlackBerry smartphone

Cannot send or receive some text messages
I just got the iphone 4s, and am having problems sending and receiving some text messages, it is saying "Message Send Failure"
Same problem persists also here. Have crosschecked with friend, all same settings, have deleted the contacted, created again, still that number does not receive my SMS (no question on iMessage). Can not even reply her message. This problem persists with few numbers, nothing common, different phones, different countries, different operators. All others, with different operators, in different coutries receive my messages. Even other people can send their SMS to her.

Pretty sure it doesn’t say there is not enough room in iTunes library because it is not backed up to the iTunes library.

I have my iPad and iPhone set up for messaging and facetime, but I cannot receive or send SMS texts with the iPad even when the iPhone is on. I can receive imessages. Is there something I am missing?

If you'd like to set up your iOS devices for SMS using Continuity, please see the information outlined below.
SMS
With Continuity, all the SMS and MMS text messages you send and receive on your iPhone also appear on your Mac, iPad, and iPod touch. Even if the person you’re communicating with doesn’t have an iPhone. And regardless of what phone they have, you can reply from whichever device is closest to you, including your iPad or Mac. You can also initiate a conversation by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, or Calendar.
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.

Quicktime keeps wanting to upgrade, but it will not finish becasue it cannot find the file quicktime.msi. The file is in the folder where it thinks it is. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but because it cannot find the file it stops. I have tried to run Quicktime but it says it is not there. How can I remove it so I can install it again.
It appears it is fixed. FYI. I went to Major Geeks and it said:

I have a new iPhone 5 version 8.1 - incoming caller ID does not work and I cannot send or receive SMS messages. ISP says everything is active on their side. I have just upgraded from Samsung with the same phone number and services. Help?

IPhone 6 not sending or receiving SMS Texts
I activated my iPhone6 8 days ago. Since activation I cannot send or receive SMS messages. I can only iMessage with other iPhone users...so in a nutshell, I can't text with anyone who doesn't have an iPhone. I'm up to date on iOS 8.2, I've deleted the contacts, re-added them, turned off iMessage and deleted the prior conversations. Please help.

MContact your carrier to have them check your account. SMS and MMS are a carrier function. It is possible there was a problem in the setup of your account with your new device. There are no settings on the iPhone dealing with SMS. The carrier has to handle that.

Nokia 6233 can't receive SMS/text message
My Nokia 6233 stopped receiving SMS/text messages, although I can send messages and receive/make phone calls. I let the battery run flat and then recharged again. It received some messages but stopped receiving messages again a short time later. I must say I have not been letting my battery run flat on a regular basis. Is this the cause? I bought the phone 2 years ago.
I do have 600 plus messages in my phone- is this the cause too?
Cheers.I don't think it is a battery issue. The more likely culprit is your memory getting almost full. Try deleting some old unwated messages or any other files. It is probably time to do a spring clean after 2 years.

You can send a message through an email gateway so that it appears as a text on someone's phone. However, it's not their regular address. For example, for a Verizon customer, it would be [email protected] Perhaps that's what you're thinking of?

Tap and hold a bubble, and select More. Put a checkmark beside each bubble you want to copy, then hit the arrow at bottom right. This will open a new message with the copied text in the text entry box. You can copy all of this and paste into Notes, but you lose who it came from unless you edit that in yourself.
You can also take screenshots of each window of text bubbles. -

You can not retrieve a deleted message that was not synced.
There are data recovery services that "may" be able to retrieve the message.
