Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works

I can receive emails over AOL but cannot send them. When I do, I get a box that says "recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying"
That's because you did not enter your screen name and password for the outgoing (SMTP) mail server on the phone. Or if you did they got erased. Go to Settings for the account and enter them.

Email rejected by server because it does not allow relaying
I've never had a problem sending/forwarding emails on my iPad2, but recently I've been getting the error message: The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. Help!
Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional. -
i try to send e.mail off iphone 4 and message keeps coming back" recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying"
This means that you did not enter a valid user ID and/or password for the Outgoing (SMTP) mail server when setting up the account. You must enter information for both the incoming and outgoing mail servers; they are separate settings.

When forwarding mail this is what i get
Cannot Send Mail
A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The recipent _________________(email address) was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying.
Never had this problem before so not sure whats going on. Appreciate any help out there.Sounds like there is something wrong with your SMTP server. Try going into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>select the email account in question, go to the Outgoing server (SMTP) and check the settings. It may be you do not have a username and password in one of the areas. The phone may say optional in a couple, but it is usually mandatory. You can also try a reset on the device, hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. If neither of these work, then you will need to delete the account, then delete the SMTP server, then add the account back, ensuring you use your username and password everywhere, even when it says optional.

I cannot send or reply to emails. I get an error message that reads "A copy has been put in your outbox. The recipient was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying. Has anyone else had this problem?
Your outgoing mail server settings are incorrect. Go to the settings for the email account and look at the SMTP settings. Most likely you did not enter your user id and password. While it says "optional" that's only from the iphone's point of view; it probably isn't "optional" from the point of view of your email provider.

When I attempt to forward or reply emails. I get the error message that my server does not allow relaying and will not send.
Some ISPs don't really handle you mail, they pass it off to another pipeline. That is called relaying. Some receiving servers will not accept relayed messages, as they are frequently associated with spammers.
In some cases, I understand aol relays within thier own system, confusing the issue a little.
Who is you mail provider? If it is a big name, this should not be an issue. As a test, if you have an alternate e mail account, like gmail, try to send a message from that account and see if it goes through. -

When sending a message to some email recipients, appears the following message "The recipient X was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying.

WWhy can't I send email but can receive it. I get the message that the server does not allow relay.
Hello kathyfromfalcon,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are unable to send email but are still receiving email. In this situation, with the relaying denied alert, I would suggest reading over the attached article and working through the steps provided.

Anybody generally familiar with laptop monitor sync ranges?
After having been happy with arch linux on my desktop for almost 12 hours, I'm now configuring it for my laptop. I'm now working on my XFree86 configuration, and I've hit a snafu. I have no idea what the horizontal & vertical sync ranges ought to be.
