I cannot set up my iCloud account.
When trying to set up my iCloud account, I am prompted to enter my apple id/password. After doing so it tells me my info is incorrect. Shouldn't this be the same ID/PW as my Apple account? Or do I need to create a new one?

I have an IPhone operating OS 4.21. I cannot back it up before update and I cannot set up an ICloud account as it needs to be on a version later on the device. Please help, I want to update but not lose everything!

I receive an error "Itunes cannot back up the IPhone because the back up cannot be saved on the computer".. So I tried to download and log into ICLoud but need to do this from my device..
That would tend to indicate a permissions issues on the computer.
Running an outdated version of iTunes is of absolutely no benefit.
All iDevices work with the current version of iTunes. -
I cannot select iCloud from my settings because it is gray. How do I restore it?
On the device go to Settings>General>Restrictions and under "Allow Changes" set Accounts to "Allow".

My original apple id is not an email address .
I bought iCloud memory via that same account no problem.
When setting up iCloud on iPad you cannot have a primary iCloud account unless it has an email address .
Made new account as per instruction ie [email protected] works fine
BUT as I want to utilise the money spent on the additional memory it would be great to use the initial account set up as my primary HOWEVER as far as I have tried the initial apple ID CANNOT be changed. Bit confused actually any usefull guidance will be greatly appreciated. ThanksSee Here > Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security

The Apple ID that I used to set up my Icloud account is no longer valid because when I moved to another State the Verizon Portal cannot be accessed. How do I cancel this "Primary" Icloud ID to repace it with a new one ???

when we purchased our mac two years ago, we set up the iCloud account. this past winter I created a new iCloud account thinking I was changing it. I now cannot access anything on the old iCloud acct and my computer hasn't been backed up either in awhile. How do i go back to that old account and delete it so that I can continue backing up on the newest account? I changed it because the original one I created an iCloud account with is a yahoo account email address and I am deleting my yahoo account for being compromised too may times.
Well, you can go to Manage your Apple ID and change the password if you can answer the Security Questions:
Apple - My Apple ID
If you cannot remember the Security Questions you can contact iTunes Support to reset them for you:
New iTunes Support - US and ww
Once you get your password reset and you can access your account info on Manage your Apple ID, you can change your ID. You won't be able to use the same email address that you are using for the new ID unless you change that one to something else. But, if you can get back into your old ID and change it to a new email address, then you can go on using that old ID, and just manually move the iCloud stuff you added to your new ID back onto the old one. Most of the stuff (like Contacts, Calendar, Notes) can be added by logging onto https://www.icloud.com on your Mac and doing it that way (it is a lot simpler when you have an actual keyboard in my opinion)
Hope this helps you to sort out the two ID business. If you have any questions, please post back!
Cheers,

The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now? Or should we? 5 macbooks, 2 ipads, 4 iphones, 2 itouch, 2 imacs. How does one decide what to sync, share and what not to? Green Jeans.
You need to start by understanding the distinction between iTunes and iCloud - Apple confuse the issue by referring to 'iTunes Match' as part of iCloud. It isn't.
You don't have to have the same login (Apple ID) for iTunes and iCloud; many people don't and there's no problem about it.
Your iCloud ID gets you email, calendars, contacts, iWork documents and PhotoStream syncing between devices.
Your iTunes ID gets you the iTunes Store, the App Store for iOS, the Mac App Store for OSX,, 'iTunes in the Cloud' (downloading of purchased items to any logged-in device) and 'iTunes Match' (uploading of songs not purchased in the iTunes Store).
Your family members can easily each get their own iCloud account to keep email etc. separate - in each case they will need a different non-Apple email address (a free one from Yahoo etc. would do) to set up the ID. If they are sharing a Mac they need to be using a separate user account.
They can have their own iCloud accounts and still all sign into the same iTunes account: or they can open their own iTunes accounts using their new iCloud Apple IDs.
BUT they cannot transfer items purchased under the present iTunes ID to different iTunes IDs. -
I updated my mac with os x Lion so that I could accomplish moving my address book from the mac to my new IPad 3G. I also set up an icloud account for this purpose, but I *still* cannot figure out how to move my address book from one computer to the other. When I'm on my mac and try to use bluetooth to export the address book, I'm able to find my ipad but I soon get a message that it does not support the necessary services. I have no idea what's going on and would appreciate any advice. tks in advance, Sarah

The address book syncs via iCloud, not Bluetooth or iTunes.
You upgraded to Lion so you could use iCoud.
On the computer. go to Apple menu > System prefs > iCloud.
Sign into your iCloud account.
Tick everything.
This enalbes the se items syncing to iCloud.
On the iPad, Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Create a new iCloud account.
Sign in with the same AppleID as your computer.
Settings > iCloud and turn everything on.
BAM!
That is all you need to do.
Your contacts (and all other checked items checked) will sync between computer and iPad.

TS4006 can you set up an icloud account on a phone remotely
My daughter has lost her phone and I just found out that she never set up an icloud account. So I cannot use the "find my iphone" app. Is there anyway to set-up the icloud account for her phone with out having her phone?
Unfortunately, no. It can only be enabled on the device itself, not remotely.

My mum set up an iCloud account for my iPhone 4 but forgot the password. This caused me to create a new account, and it can be used for the App Store and iTunes and all that, but I can't change the initial iCloud account (the one my mum made). My device keeps prompting me for the password every few minutes after updating to iOS 8, and I've tried every option possible to retrieve the password, but I don't even know the answers to the security questions and I can't find the password reset email anywhere and I don't know the back up emails my mum used. I literally cannot find any legitimate way to sign out of the initial iCloud account without entering a password (which neither I nor my parents know). Is there a way for me to retreive the password or change to my new account without the password?

Can i set up my icloud account from my pc ?
My iPod touch was stolen and I want to use "Find My iPod" I just spent the last 20 mins on the phone with Apple's customer service and they said there's nothing they can do to track my iPod because it's a "Privacy Issue" And they said that I never set up my iCloud account. You cannot create an iCloud account from a Windows PC.

Hi.I am having difficulty setting up my icloud account on my iphone4. It's telling me Account not verified and to check my email at my apple account. The screen is greyed out and i cannot switch on any of the apps. Also icloud backup is off. Is it safe to delete this account? will it erase everything on my phone??
Make sure you are checking the email address you used to set up your iCloud account. Check the spam/junk folder as well as the inbox. If it isn't there, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right click Resend under your Primary Email Address to resend the verification email.

TS3988 I cannot sign into my icloud account
I cannot sign into my iCloud account, it keeps saying this; This Apple ID is Valid but is not an iCloud account, so what is?
That message usually means that you have not set up iCloud using a device with iOS 5 or a Mac with OS X Lion.

After I edited my contact list on my iphone I set up the icloud account. Now all of my old contacts have been added to the edited ones. If I delete the icould will I lose all of my contacts or just the ones brought in by icloud?
You cannot delete an Apple ID, you can just stop using it. If your photos are still on your phone now, then I suggest you do back them up. Transfer them from the phone into your iPhoto Library. iCloud only backs up your Camera Roll automatically. But the Camera Roll only contains new photos that were taken but not yet transferred using iTunes.
