I cannot set up my iphone

I'm trying to set up my Iphone to just work, but every time i try to do it I get this messege...Your Iphone coould not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. please help...

Probably because it was hacked or jailbroken. If that's the case, you can't get help here.
Where EXACTLY did you get the phone?

  • Cannot set up replacement iPhone with MobileMe

    I have a paid MobileMe account (now extended to 6/30/12), and a few weeks ago, had my iPhone 3GS die on me.  Got an iPhone 4, and got the 3GS replaced under warranty, and gave it to my wife.
    Tried to set up "Find My iPhone" last night on the replacement 3GS, and now I get a message saying that it found my account, but I can't set up a free MobileMe account.  (Went to settings/mail/add new account/ put in my MobileMe credentials, etc.)
    I can't set up ANY mobileme syncing with this.  The message comes back immediately, and I'm unable to set anything.
    What's the problem?  My old 3GS was still present under "Find My iPhone" yesterday, as well as my iPhone 4 and my iPad.  I deleted the 3GS from the web based MobileMe, and the message said as soon as it came back on, would be available again.
    Why can't I set this up with my PAID MobileMe account?

    I'm not attempting to set up a new "account" as in service. I'm trying to associate the 3GS with an existing account. "add new account" is the mail account on the iPhone - NOT the service for said account (gmail, yahoo, exchange, etc). 
    I'm adding a "new" account to the iPhone.
    "Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendar/ADD ACCOUNT".   Won't let me associate it with the 3GS for existing MobileMe account.  I go thru the same process for Gmail, which doesn't create a "new account" back at the provider, or a new userid/account.
    I'm simply using the terminology on the screens.

  • Cannot set up POP mail - only IMAP?

    For some reason, I cannot set up my iPhone to retrieve mail from a POP3 server. There's no option to choose to set up a POP account specifically, and it keeps failing, telling me that "The IMAP server pop.myisp.co.uk" is not responding. It also seems to insist on trying to connect over port 143, which is IMAP, not POP.
    What do I have to do to set up a POP account? Has POP support been discontinued for IOS4?
    This all worked perfectly well before the IOS4 'upgrade'...

    Problem was the POP/IMAP button at the top of the screen was not displayed, as the screen was partially scrolled - in other words, the button was only visible by dragging the screen downwards to see the button at the top. Very odd, but at least I got it sorted out.

    I cannot set up icloud on my iphone 4s.  When I go to settings it always says check your email but when I check my email there is none sent to me.

    Check your spam folder to be sure it isn't there.  If not, try going to https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ and Manage your account.  There should be a link there to resend the verification email.

    Try to remember any AppleID you ever may have used.
    In the AppStore Application go to the "Store" menu.
    It will show you the AppleiD You are currently using (in the last menu entry "View my account ....".
    Use the "Sign out" command and sign in with any AppleID you ever used, ten check the "Purchases" tab of the App Store, if that will show the bundled apps.
    And also, where are my pictures stored in my Air?
    If you have used iPhoto to download your pictures, the photos will be stored in the iPhoto Library, a package, that is stored in the folder "Pictures" in your Home folder.

    Try resetting the iPhone,
    Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
    Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.
    If the does not work then delete that email account and set it up again,
    Settings > Mail > select the account > delete account.
    Take a note of the account settings before doing this to help you set it up again.

    The iPhone has a feature of allowing your mail settings to be imported from your computer's mail client's settings when you sync the computer and the phone using iTunes. Open iTunes, connect the phone, click on the phone in the left hand column. Then open the Info tab and check the Mail settings and select the mail client you are using, either Outlook or Outlook Express. Then sync and the settings should be exported into the phone.
    If that doesn't or hasn't worked, open your mail client and look at the settings for the outgoing server. Manually enter the same settings in your iPhone. You don't have to guess whether to use SSL when you already have this info in the settings in your computer.

    My wife and I both bought the iPhone 4s.  Very exciting!  Especially since I am "graduating" from a Blackberry and she had a Nokia phone from the stone ages (no qwerty keyboard or screen!).
    I easily and quickly established an email address (such as name@me) using iCloud.  So far so good.
    For some reason, my wife's phone won't allow her to set up a name@me email address on iCloud.
    There is some problem with her Apple ID.  We set up and reset her Apple ID several times.
    I think her Apple ID is now OK.
    But now we cannot set up her name@me email address on the phone.  Every time we go into iCloud, the first thing it asks is "Apple ID and password."
    We enter the correct Apple ID and password (using her external mindspring email address, just like I did), but she gets an error message, "email address is Already Added.  This iCloud account has already been added to your iPhone."  What???
    Can anyone make sense of this?  We never got to set up the name@me email address.  Hmmmm....

    Week Cal uses the calender database already on your phone. It's just a different front end.

    That would tend to indicate a permissions issues on the computer.
    Running an outdated version of iTunes is of absolutely no benefit.

    The user name and password are in two places. Make  sure they are correct in both locations.
    Settings>>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>>your email>>
    First spot is here under INCOMING MAIL SERVER
    Below this is OUTGOING MAIL SERVER
    Select: SMTP smtp.comcast.net>> PRIMARY SERVER :smtp.comcast.net>>second location of user name and password
    Here is the second place that the user name and password must be checked.
    I had changed my password in the first spot, but not the second spot. I had been receiving the same error message. This fixed my problem.

  • After update IOS from 6.0 to 7.1, my Apple Id cannot access to my Iphone due to the Apple ID that comment on IOS 7.0.2 was not matched to the old one.

    I have gotten the problem after updated IOS to version 7.0.2.  I signed up my IPhone with su* @pttplc.com as Apple ID via older IOS version and can use it normally but after I update the IOS version from 6.0 to 7.0.2, the Apple ID that commented on my IPhone is sx* @pxxxxx.com. It look like that the number of alphabet in Apple Id is not matched. The new one is less than the old one so I cannot log in my IPhone. After that I try asking for the new password but the new password was not send to su* @pttplc.com but send to my reserve e-mail instead. Please help me to fix the problem ASAP due to I cannot access IPhone for 2 month already. 
    Please suggest the solution to reset my IPhone to normal. Please advise ASAP. Thanks in advance.

    If you recently changed your Apple ID and did not update your Apple ID on your device:
    1. Tap Skip This Step to continue.
    2. After completing iOS 7 setup, go to Settings > iCloud.
    3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then enter your previous Apple ID and password.
    4. If your Apple ID or password are not accepted, follow the steps in iOS 7: If you're asked for your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud.

    HI my partner used my apple id and email address when setting up his iPhone so when he turned on iCloud our phones merged!! How do we undo this? Can he still use my iTunes account with a different Id and can he change the email on his phone without losing information? Also iPad is linked too, the family uses this and I would like to keep my phone separate! At the moment nothing is sacred! Please help! We are not very good with computers!!

    Several things here so let me attempt to clarify.
    For iCloud the reason the contacts where removed from he other device is because you updated your contacts, in this case deleted them, and then iCloud updated the other device to match. By deleting the iCloud account on the device it will stop the device from using that iCloud account and therefore nothing will change on the other device. By using a seperate Apple ID you can still use the features of iCloud, Find My iPhone comes to mind, without your content (contacts, message etc.) merging with the other device
    For iTunes, you cannot use two Apple IDs for one account however if you use the same account iTunes on your computer will keep the content on each device seperate very nicely. You can also configure the settings for iTunes and the App store on each device to keep the content from automatically downloading to the other device. What I meant by share apps and music is this. What happens if you find a game, lets say Minecraft, that you really like and it cost, as Mincraft cost, $6.99USD. You buy it and play for a while and then you realize that your husband really likes the game as well. If you both use the same Apple ID for iTunes he can download the $7.00ish game to his device at no additional charge. If you use seperate Apple IDs for iTunes well... it look like he will also be paying for the game to have it on his account. Same goes for Music and Movies
