cannot sign into itunes.. i have the latest version.  wanted to download an app

I am having no problems downloading from the app store today. I just tried it again. However, I read some of those other discussions as well and there have been times when the iTunes or App Store has been out of commission. Don't hold your breath waiting for Apple to acknowledge it because that is not going to happen. That is not how they operate.

    I fixed this error for my daughter after a while by working out that the address in her login profile was a different country from the iTunes and App store that she was logging into...
    I also blogged about it to try to help others as this took out a good 6 hours of my Christmas evening trying to set up my kid's MBP.

    I am able to connect to itunes on my iphone 5 and make purchases - I can also use the id and log in on my daughter's iphone5
    however I cannot sign in on my PC via itunes.
    When I try to sign on i get a message telling me that itunes is temporarily unavailable. I am running latest itunes and my firewall is ok with itunes

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Since upgrading my iPad mini to iOS7, I cannot sign into iTunes or the App Store.  
    Upgrading iOS7 to iOS7.0.2 has been downloading for over an hour now, in spite of telling me that there's "less than 1 minute remaining"!
    Whatever I read about troubleshooting the problem directs me to things I cannot find on the iPad or my PC.

    Thanks for the question. Are you receiving a "Payment Declined" or similar error? If so, this usually occurs due to two common reasons (though there may be more):
    If your account information does not match your credit card, you may get a message stating "The credit card was declined."
    To expand on the above, your billing name or address may not match the address listed on your credit card statement. Any discrepancy in punctuation, abbreviation, or capitalization can cause errors, which might prevent you from purchasing from the iTunes Store. If you moved, or if your zip code changed recently, ask your credit card company to make sure their records are up to date and match exactly what you are entering as your billing information.
    The iTunes Store will place a minimal authorization hold on your credit card each time that you update your account information (equal to around 1 USD). The authorization hold is not a charge. The authorization hold is placed on your credit card to make sure that the information provided matches the information on file with your financial institution. The authorization hold will not be displayed in your iTunes Store purchase history.
    If there are insufficient funds in the account to cover the authorization hold, you may experience issues with adding payment information.

    What version of iTunes are you currently running? To check, in iTunes go "Help > About iTunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen. For example, I see:
    iTunes: 10.5.2.11

    So, a belated update on my original issue. I spent hours on the phone with apple, they said my download cue was very backed up so they cleared that. Still didnt worked. Tried a bunch of different things that didnt work so they were going to go over my computer info and get back to me. I got off the phone with them, but didn't quit trying. I clicked on Genius, it asked for my info, which I entered, and Bam! it asked me to confirm my payment so i did, and now its good. Maybe Monty is on to something. Thank you all.

    1. Hard reset, hold down the power & home button at the same time and release until you see the apple logo appear
    2. Reset network Settings
    3.Reset All Setting's
    4.Deleted and re downloaded the application.

    What exactly do you mean by 1 - RESET NETWORK SETTINGS  and 2 - RESET ALL SETTINGS?

    I can't sign in to my iTunes account on my MacBookPro despite being able to on my iphone 5 and other mac devices.  The same pop up keeps appearing: Cannot connect to the iTunes store, try again later.  I've updated the itunes software, restarted the computer, shut it down, turned it back on...and still the same pop up!  I've gone back on my phone to try and download a song on itunes and it works perfectly.  No issues.  Has anyone encountered this before? I shall be gratefull for any advice.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
    You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Also try restarting the router.
    If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
    If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
    If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

    I am unable to log into iTunes store and download songs. My connections are ok, and I got into the store last week. I can sign in...but when I got to purchase a song, it ask me to verify my acct, So I give it my id and pw, wait a few sec, then the window comes back asking the same thing over and over.     Only one apple ID. Password is correct. It keeps prompting me in an endless loop anyway.
    If I enter the password one time, then click cancel on all dozen+ additional prompts, then I can finally proceed to check for app updates and available TV show subscriptions.
    I used to have to type the password exactly twice because it hasn't been storing the password correctly for some time (there are posts elsewhere about cookie storage issues, none of which helped me).
    But after the upgrade to iTunes 11.0.3 (42) 64-bit (on Mac OS X 10.8.3), I now have the problem in SPADES -- dozens of prompts, because each time I satisfy one, I get two more, until I give up and cancel them all.
    This is not user error.  It is a bug that has been made worse by the latest iTunes.

    Could you post rge result of your network connectivity tests.
    iTunes Help>>Run Diagnostics>>Network Connectivity Tests.
    Paste the entire result into your post. It is OK to remove your iPod serial no and IP address if you wish.

    I logged off iTunes on my PC and can't sign back into my account. I receive the following error "We could not complete your iTunes request. An unknown error occured (error 0x80090326). Now, I can't backup/update/sync anything. iTunes Help > Diagnostics failed secure link to iTunes store. I spoke to level 2 at Apple Care for hours and NOTHING works. Seems like an isolated XP issue.     installing and reinstalling iTunes
    flushing DNS
    winsock review and repair
    repair of QuickTime and iTunes
    ensured iTunes was selected as exception for Windows Firewall
    Windows XP patch from 2009 (suggested in previous post)
    Also uninstalled anti-virus, turned off firewall. Nothing works

    I've now got exactly the same issue on my Windows XP netbook with iTunes 12.1.2.27.  Everything was fine a few days ago but as of Monday the 20th of April 2015 (at the latest) I'm not able to update apps with iTunes.  This PC's only job is to run iTunes to play music and backup 3 iPhones, 4 iPod Touches and 3 iPads.
    My thanks to whoever decided to make the change!
    Whatever has been changed on Apple's server side should be changed back.  Don't fix what's not broken.

  • Cannot sign into itunes - Network connection was reset.

    Updated to Itunes 10.6 this morning and when the process was completing, i received an error staring "We could not complete your itunes store request.  The network connection was reset.  Make sure your network connection is active and try again."  I have tried the two fixes found on the support page (date and the advanced security options) but the problem persists.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
    (Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
    In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
    If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
    Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
    If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:
